I am three and a half months out and I definitely have this problem. Just yesterday, I bought some crackers and chips for myself and when I got home and set them on the counter, my husband laughed and said "what are you gonna do with those." Sometimes I just flat out forget that I had this surgery and I find myself in pain…

I am open and honest about my WLS, sometimes even a little obnoxious about it. I was questioned about why I wanted something very small at a restaurant and I said I just had weight loss surgery and she told me "I'm trying to lose weight too but I'm doing it the old fashioned way" in a pretty superior and snotty tone and so…

Your body was probably full of fluids for that first week after surgery so you probably lost that and then the two lbs were just the beginning for the "real" weight loss. I gained 7 lbs from the fluid from my surgery so you've probably actually lost quite a bit this first week and now it will be downhill from here.....at…

Clothes are a must lol I just bought my first batch this morning. I got them in x large instead of 3x. I was going to wait until things were falling off of me but then I got an email saying that Old Navy was having a $5 or less sale so in I went lol I guess I worded the title wrong.......rewards was just the word that came…

I like guys that get my very dry, sometimes dark sense of humor. Physically, it's all about the fingers; I love me some piano playing fingers.

I'm lactose intolerant. I shouldn't do any kind of milk but I rely heavily on my protein shakes as they're the only ones that I like. I also get really bad cramping and diarrhea. Mine started before surgery though, about 13 years ago actually and I couldn't figure it out and neither did any of the doctors I saw. Cheese…

Hi all! I'm Trinity and I'm from Seaside, OR. I had my sleeve done on the 14th of May and I have lost 20 lbs even since that day. I had hoped for more but I also know my body and it's not gonna go down without a fight lol so I will take what I can get. I am also down 9 inches since surgery and I can actually see it in my…

I had surgery four weeks ago and I wouldn't say I'm depressed, I would say that I am overwhelmed. Without food to fall back on, I am amazed at the sheer amount of emotions that I covered up with food. I can't turn to food to deal with them anymore so I have to actually acknowledge the feelings and deal with them, usually…

Thanks all. I decided to start a real life workout program today. At my last checkup, my surgeon said I could do whatever as long as it wasn't too extreme and as long as I didn't have any pain. Walking hasn't caused me pain, dancing hasn't caused me pain, but push-up caused me pain. I can't do push-ups yet. How will I…

The 21 day thing is so true. Up until yesterday, my three week anniversary, I wanted anything and everything that I was able to eat before surgery. Then last night when I got home from work, I realized I was just over it. I looked in the fridge for something to eat for dinner and realized that I just didn't want anything.…

Well said to all of you! You guys are great! I like it here

I knew that there were people who felt that WLS was cheating but I just wasn't ready for the vehemence of it. I told my friend that to me, it seemed like if it had been a meeting where we were all physically present, they would have been a mob with pitchforks. I am just shocked though. I am very open about my surgery and…

I got on too! I gained 7 lbs from surgery and the IV fluids. I didn't freak cuz I knew what it was from but I was still disappointed. My hand that had the IV looked like one of Mickey Mouse's gloves lol. I lost it fast though so everything was alright.

You look so great and your smile always makes me crack a smile. It's awful infectious lol

I can't wait until I am that far! I haven't been able to shop in a regular size section or store in over ten years! I'm tired of BFS on plus size clothes!! (BFS stands for Big Flower Syndrome lol)

I am a week out and I am still using my pain meds at night. Getting up and sitting down is the hardest, I had to have help until about three days ago. My incisions are still majorly sore. Besides that, I feel pretty good. It'll get better. The third and fourth day were the worst for me. You'll get through this! The pillow…

I had surgery a week ago today and it's going well. I decided to take an extra week off of work because I am napping in the middle of the day and I didn't want to give that up yet lol. I have lost 8 lbs since surgery, which is amazing! I'm feeling pretty good but I cannot weight until I get to the soft food stage. I…

I do Dance Central on Xbox 360 Kinect. I have all three of them and I can make my own playlists to suit my workout needs. I can also move songs from the old game to the new one, like I can move songs from Dance Central 1 to Dance Central 3. It really gets me moving and I have to actually learn the dances, there are no…

I hate those commercials!! It feel like that's all that's on tv sometimes. Welcome David!

I love reading these!! It really gives me an idea of what's doing to happen with mine. I hope I do as well as you do! You're doing great! (pretend Tony the Tiger said that)

Yay!! Welcome!

You're doing amazing! Don't even think about feeling guilty, we all have to do what we have to do. Watching you is keeping me amped up for my own surgery. I do have a question though about Swedish Edmunds. Did they have a place in your room so someone could sleep in there overnight with you? Keep up the great work!!

I can't handle celery. That is a pure taste hate for me lol. I'm working on bell pepper though. I've got it to where I can eat it cooked now, which is definitely progress lol

Do you eat lettuce? I'm asking because I too despise veggies (it's a texture thing) and I added veggies into my diet by wrapping my meat up in lettuce, like a tortilla. It helped my mind to link the lettuce and the protein together so it was easier for me to get them in. After that I was able to add more things to my…

Wow!! 48 lbs already! Is that since the surgery or is that from a preop diet too? It's amazing either way! I hope I lose that fast. My fear is that I won't but I really, really, really hope I do. The preop diet is getting easier so I'm hoping it'll go fast for me.
-
That's pretty close to mine except that I only get a maximum of 3 meal replacements. So yes, trust me, it does get easier lol. I actually ran through my office today because of all the extra energy I have from the protein. I'm starting to enjoy myself. You'll do great!!!
-
It gets easier!! What kind of preop diet are you doing?
-
Mine is gonna be at Edmunds too! How come you're staying in a hotel? Did you have to travel there like I do? I'm going up from Seaside, OR cuz my insurance won't pay for any surgeons in Oregon. I'm okay with that though, I really like Dr. Chock, my surgeon, and I just talked to a doc that I work with and he said that he…

I agree. It is terrifying on the "general" boards. I never, ever feel comfortable speaking up on there because I feel like somoene is going to attack me. It's craziness. I'm glad that I decided to go the WLS and even though I'm not sleeved yet, I'm glad I can come here and talk to nice people if I need to.

Thank you all! I appreciate the advice. My department only has three people in it and one of them is leaving apparently so when I went to inquire about two weeks instead of one, I was told that we'd play it by ear. Lovely. Pawoodhull, I would have never thought about eating the protein and then waiting for an hour before…
