  • It sounds like you are doing too much too soon! What are your eating and exercise habits? Where did you start in terms of eating and exercise? I blogged about this awhile ago. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/jadedone/view/get-out-of-your-own-way-weigh-230734
  • Same here! I wear them often. My big problem is fitting around the calves. Most are way too baggy in the calves so they look stupid. (I have drumstick legs and skinny ankles. It is hard to find well fitting skinnies.) I just pair them with a looser top. Or a longer top depending on the look I am going for. I've got these…
  • I personally found that I can't eat back all of the calories MFP thinks I burned. I eat about 50% of them back. I am worried about the amount of produce and fiber you are eating. It doesn't look like much. You should eat more veggies, for health reasons. You could triple the amount.
  • Some people are terrible. If you feel like being snarky, you can always respond to the mean girls and tell them, you can always improve your weight, but they'll permanently be stuck on stupid. No amount of working out will fix that. ;) But most importantly, don't let your appearance (and stupid people) drive your…
  • I do not think I have ever seen mine. It will be a revelation when that happens. It is just starting to peek out now.
  • I am pretty clueless about back issues, but you do want to find ways of upping your intensity on the treadmill. Via speed or incline. Also, working "harder" not "longer" is always better.
  • Up your intensity too. Right now you are doing 50 minutes at 5km/h. Try to do 4 minutes at 5km then 1 minute at 5.5km and alternate like this for your 45-50 minutes. Then keep upping things as you get stronger. Soon enough, your "regular" speed will be 5.5 and your speedy will be 6 or more.....
  • The first time I gave blood, my iron was a bit on the low side. I passed out after giving blood. The second time I was rejected because my iron was too low (years later). The 3rd time, the same thing happened. I haven't tried to give blood again, but my iron levels are good per my last blood test. OP, there are lots of…
  • I love the curvy jeans trend. I have hope that a pair won't have too much gapping!
  • These measurements are not hourglass. The waist hip ratio (WHR) is up too high. It should be more like .75 or less.
  • I think you guys could likely go down in the band. If your Underbust measures 38 you should wear roughly a 38 band for good support. I thought I needed a 42 until I was properly measures, and I went down several band sizes. I am also 42 around the bust, but my bra size is about 34H. And I measure 33 around my rib cage.
  • Curvy is a shape not a size. Mainly defined by having a well defined waist. I typically use it for people with a low waist hip ration. There is some debate on is people have a low waist/bust ratio. I consider those people busty not curvy. 36-34-36 is curvy and so are 46-34-46, 38-32-44. 46-38-51. It is all about…
  • You can also good in a cast iron pan. (Noting acidic). I supplement, I tend towards anemia. With a combo of hypothyroidism and some recent bouts with heavy periods it is the only way for me to stay dosed. My stomach hates most of the supplements.
  • And ask yourself what the real sue is. Do you really need to lose weight or do your a t to reduce your body fat percentage and look more "toned." You might be better served by working out differently.
  • Oh one more note! I am actually a weirdo so far. I haven't actually lost any weight in my bust at all! At my heaviest, I was alternating between 36G/38F. Last year I was 15 pounds lighter than I am now, and my size changed to 32HH/J. I have only lost around the rib cage, and not volume, at 50 pounds down. Your mileage may…
  • I recommend anyone who is pondering t a reduction to do a couple of things. 1. Get properly fitted for a bra. Many women who have back issues have issues because of ill fitting bras that are too big in the band! This calculator is a great starting point. If the bra size you are wearing isn't in the neighborhood of this…
  • Snacks? I end up just eating them. Some days it is chips. Sometimes cheese and crackers, other days it is chocolate (like today!). I have some "rules." Most days of the week I stick with my healthy breakfast. About 5x a week I have greek yogurt and fruit and possibly granola. I have a goal of keeping my dinners "lower" in…
  • Definitely take more! :) I am literally in about a plateau since the beginning of the year. I am losing/gaining the same 4 pounds. :( I was super psyched when I took measurements the other day and had a huge change in my belly button area. Everywhere else was nearly the same, except that one! I took it as progress. :) This…
  • Some people think skinny is a compliment, almost the ultimate compliment (many women in my family think this). Curvy is also a euphemism, that doesn't really describe body shape very well either. I have my own opinions on the definition of curvy, but I don't want to derail your thread. The only thing "real" women have in…
  • Odds of looking like a VS model after trying to "get fit?" 5%. Odds of looking like a better version of yourself? 95% Work with what you've got and making it the best that you can be (or want to be). Unrealistic expectations are demoralizing and will sabotage your mental health and perhaps your physical health. **Edit** VS…
  • Make sure to measure other forms of progress as well. Set up some strength goals, or speed goals, or flexibility goals. Work on doing more pushups, lifting more weight, holding planks longer, going longer distances.... All stuff you can measure. And don't forget to take measurements. These may show more progress than the…
  • You guys need new sports bras! Shock absorber and Freya work for me. No bounce (or very little in the ones that are too big) and I am an H!
  • It all depends on your shape. I am in the same boat. I did lose another 10ish from my ticker that I gained back, but here has been my progression so far: HW: 250, bra size: 36G/38F (underbust 37) CW: 216: 34H/32HH (underbust 33) @ 205: 32HH/32J (underbust is 32) I am retaining all volume and losing in the band only so far.…
  • So far: My hair is really fragile and dry. It breaks easily. :( My skin is super dry (on top of its normal dryness) I have trouble sleeping well Low energy Period irregularity
  • I do. But I try not to read into it too closely.
  • Teavana is really overpriced. And many times they are misleading about the ingredients of their teas. Which is my bigger beef. But loose leaf tea is cheaper than the tea bags. I highly recommend switching to loose leaf. Just not from Teavana. :) Unless they are having a 75% off sale. We just got David's Tea locally, and I…
  • I like hint, I am too cheap to buy it. But the biggest issue is, if it has been in the bottle too long it tastes plasticy. And it absolutely must be ice cold to be tasty. You can also try metro mint. It doesn't have the plastic problem like hint does. Personally I just drink lots of tea herbal tea with stevia is an awesome…
  • weight lifting = practical for life.
  • I am going to recap 2012 for you for me. I "re-started" my weightloss journey, read this as actually committed to the whole thing. And my levels were good (TSH at ike 1.25) and I was taking synthroid. I had some ups and downs and small plateaus, but I managed to lose ~50 pounds at a fairly regular rate. Then my pharmacist…
  • What are you eating, and I mean what are your ratios. I personally find that the proportions matter for me. I aim for 45% carbs, 25% protein, 30% fat. If I do not eat enough carbs or fat I will be super starving. Even if I have tons of protein. My body is not happy without a certain number of carbs. I need to have at least…
