This is understandable

Perhaps you are the anomaly since you desire advice? Most others don't really want it I guess?

I'be been adding 100 calories a week since I joined trying to get to the right calorie amount for me (starting at the 1200 net MFP sets). Right now I'm netting 1400. My diary is open but don't look at today as example since I'm not feeling very well.

Thanks. I thought I wanted to be skinny at one time. Until I got there, 123 lbs. and skinny fat. When I started MFP my goal was to gain muscle because I felt a flabby mess. I'm gaining, losing, gaining here, but figuring out how to look my best.

oh SNAP! Just got my phone a couple days ago and LOVE Siri. Thanks for the info!
-
Sometimes I look when the status comes up in the feed "Person x completed their diary and was under their goal." I guess I'll stop looking.
-
Never thought about that...something to consider. I haven't said anything yet, but I'm just really concerned. I guess you can't want something for someone they don't want for themselves.
-
yup. I just had dinner. I don't know that there is much merit to the don't eat after a certain time rule.

Fabulous!

I asked this the other day because my 50 minute heavy weight lifting circuit only logged as about 156 calories but my 33 minute cardio logged as 200. hmmmm.... ETA: Another website gave me 292 calories for vigorous weightlifting

MFP originally set me at 1200 calories net. I went with that because how would I know that was bad? Read a few posts and calculated my BMR (1214) and TDEE (1884 for moderately active). So now I understand eating 1200 calories is barely enough for survival and my body will start sacrificing muscle if I stay there long…

I get 40-50g fiber a day. if the increase in fiber is steady your body will adjust. If its too quick you will not be comfortable. The RDA is 25 mg which I blow past regularly because I really only eat whole foods for the most part. if you're not having any GI distress I'd say you're fine.

Steroidal meds are known for their ability to make you gain weight. Predisone is one of the most popular ones but you might want to check to see if any of the meds you take are steroidal drugs.

Great job!!

I eat a mainly whole foods diet but I add brown rice protein to my breakfast and a snack because I found it really hard to get my protein considering I'm pretty limited. I am on a low sodium diet (severely sodium sensitive) so I only eat limited amounts of fish and dairy because the sodium in them compromises my blood…

I weigh once a week on Monday morning but I also put on my Monday pants. I have a pair of pants that fit horribly when I gain about 5 lbs. So I put those on every Monday to check my progress as well. This week the scale said I gained 2 lbs but my Monday pants were looser than they were last week so I'm gonna trust my…

ah I see. ok I won't worry about it since I am seeing results.
-
Oh I SHALL!!! I'm just wondering how its even possible! ETA: Thanks by the way. I plan my meals in advance because protein has been a problem for me and I'm trying to keep my muscle mass while losing fat.
-
you need to ask your doctor what sodium intake he/she suggests. I am immensely sodium sensitive and I usually eat less than 500mg a day. anymore than that and my bp starts to go up. RDA is around 2000 but I would have a stroke if I ate that much sodium.

I love ALDI! I buy everything I can from there. I have NEVER had a problem with my produce from their going bad quickly...although I eat it quickly... I have never been attached to name brands so I don't care that its off brand. If I can't find something there I will go to a larger store and buy their store brand so what…

:drinker: Cheers to a great success and fabulously entertaining tale!

you just said in another post that you don't drink any clear water. go drink some water and stop stressing. Most people here will tell you weight loss is not linear. When I joined here I gained 1lb, gained another 5 lbs, then lost 4 but my body composition is much better looking now. muscles are looking much more defined.…

again...I think you may just have to find a level that works for you. Try to stay under 2000 for a while and see how you feel. If you eliminate the processed dinners you will decrease your sodium substantially and you may even find that you can eat more food when you prepare it yourself as you won't have added calories…
-
You may find that you are sodium sensitive...even if another person can consume 2500 mg of sodium a day doesn't mean you can. The only way to test it out is to decrease your sodium. Even if you don't shed any weight I don't know anyone in their right mind that will tell you decreasing your sodium could be bad for you…

In 2004 both my mother and my aunt needed to lose half their body weight to get to a healthy size. My mother had gastric bypass, my aunt started using portion control without physical activity because she had severe asthma. They both lost the same amount of weight in about the same amount of time. My aunt continued to eat…

change your setting so you can track your sodium in your food diary. I track because I eat a sodium restricted diet. RDA is 2000 mg sodium or less. If you eat prepared dinners you are probably easily hitting 2000 mg. I usually eat less than 300-500 a day and when I get close to 500 I can feel it. Of course I'm more…

my post pregnancy/nursing boobs were so big I had no choice but to have a proper fitting...anyone ever heard of an M cup? Yeah me neither until I had to order one. I.was.mortified.
-
nope. i have gone down about 4 cup sizes. I was pretty busty at my heaviest weight. now I'm down to same cup size I was in high school, but smaller than when my hubby met me so...not cool. My goal is to keep losing body fat but retaining muscle but I think I'll have to stop if my boobs get too small. seriously...

Hw: 180 lbs CW: 125 lbs Goal: lose body fat, retain muscle. not sure what weight that will be or body fat percentage, I just know what I want to look like. Over the last 7 days I've averaged between 90 and 130 grams protein per day.

My mother was recently tested and found out that she was gluten intolerant. She has struggled with moderate to severe IBS since I was a child. Since going GF she hasn't suffered any IBS episodes, her chronic skin inflammation cleared, and she happened to lose weight in the process. In the last couple years I started…
