We have one in the break room at work but I like to weigh naked and that might cause issues.

I drink green tea because I like it and it has overall health benefits. I have never noticed any impact on weight loss either way if I drink some, none or lots. I think it does have some very minor impact on metabolism, and drinking it may well stop you grabbing a snack instead, and obviously if it is instead of a calorie…

Hey, back in 2009 I was a nearly 350lb man in his 30s starring down the barrel of a gun. I am currently 204 and looking forward to a weight starting in the 100s pretty soon. My weight loss has been a gradual journey, with lots of tweaks along the way, but it has always been a forward journey. So basically what I am saying…

Also for those complaining in general about the price of organic food, if you have any sort of land try growing some of your own, it can actually be an enjoyable hobby and give you some nice outdoors exercise as the weather warms up. Or combine it with befriending the farmer next door and get baskets of free food all…

Yep am down 139 lbs, went to veg with fish to vegan with very occasional fish to straight up vegan. However it is not to do with not eating meat, I still eat protein in the place of meat and I could do a similar diet, with similar results with wisely chosen and prepared meat if I wanted to. I just don't want to. The trick…

I'd like to buy two tickets to that gun show. wow!

Congratulations on getting married. When is the wedding? Or put another way how long before you want to have lost the 14lb? Also how tall are you and what do you weigh? Never worry if you made a bad decision, just don't put off until the next day getting back on track. Get up from the desk and invent a reason to walk to…

If this is just trolling some mod should just lock it stop the people wasting time because they genuinely want to help someone. There are more than enough real people desperate for some help to get started, so why continue feeding oxygen to this fire...

I never go to the gym. My one real investment was a Schwinn exercise bike I got for $299 probably 7 or 8 years ago. My preferred workout is out in nature hiking, hill climbing. If it is too cold I have the bike I mentioned. If I have less time I have some exercise videos on the laptop. I have some free weights to use in…

I started at 343, last Friday when I weighed I was 204. 139 lbs and within sight of my goal. Trust me that tastes better than any fast food. You can do it, just commit and stick with it.

Eat 1300 tomorrow and the next day, 1400 the day after and then back to your 1500. That way for the week you just splurged 500 or so cals, which will probably have little effect.

Hey I am 39 too. I walk, or more accurately hike, for 45 minutes nearly every day in the countryside that is right off my back deck. No idea about miles, but I know I get the benefit of the couple of big hills I hit each day. I've lost 139 lbs total, much of it prior to taking up walking, but plenty afterwards. You want to…

Overweight people, and I mean seriously overweight not 5lbs too heavy for the perfect swimsuit, tend to construct a tapestry of half truths around themselves to help protect the reality they have built in their heads. I know, I used to do it, figuring that out was why I am 139lbs down and am continuing to get healthier…

I started ignoring the MFP sugar results when I realized it was tracking sugar in Romaine lettuce. As others have said it is common sense to avoid processed sugar in candy bars and cereal and the like, but otherwise I wouldn't give it a thought unless you have specific medical issues.

You are setting yourself up to fail. Anything out of exactly what you want to eat is 'not eating like a normal person', so you will just go back to 'normal' and tell yourself you tried. If you want to lose weight you have to be willing to make some kind of compromise from eating the way that made you fat.

Scan just allows you to use the camera to view the barcode on a food product and it will identify it and it's calories, protein, fat etc

Feel free to add me, I describe myself as a non-obsessive Vegan, by that I mean I eat Vegan and prepare the vast majority of my own food, but don't panic if there is something listed 17th in the ingredients of a trail mix bar that could be somehow milk related.

Not in a million years. Lost 136lbs through diet and exercise despite some serious health issues. I am not going to pass judgment on anyone, but for me there is no reward in some quick fix with all the dangers of surgery and the many issues that you will live with for the rest of your life. I celebrate every pound I lost…

Plan your meals. Prepare your meals. Do it in advance. Include some emergency healthy snacks in that perpetration.

There is more than one way to skin a cat and there is more than one way of heating healthy. Eating meat can be part of a very healthy diet and so can not eating any. People need to stop worrying about converting people to, or back from, a vegetarian or vegan diet. Everyone should find their own path.

If the texture of Tofu is an issue then try Tempeh. It's higher in protein than Tofu and I think it is great in a stir fry with some crispy vegetables.

You are going to get comments because even if you have a small frame you are already in the lower range of healthy. You are not losing weight because your body doesn't need to, even if your mind thinks differently. I will leave the thread to others closer to your age and sex to see how they can help you.

First things first STOP WEIGHING EVERY DAY. It will destroy and discourage you. Once a week is plenty. Some people only weigh once a month.
-
Yep it is a great feeling. When I did it it was shortly before the holidays and next time I weighed in I was back up a pound over the point where I was obese. Very depressing that. I went ahead and dropped 14 lbs in the following 7 weeks though to put it very firmly in the rearview mirror.

Don't weigh every day nothing but madness that way lies. I weigh once a week, first thing on Friday. Many other people weigh on the 1st of the month. Some people avoid the scales altogether, and just use how their clothes feel or by measuring.

Hi, I've lost 136lbs, 16" off my waist and gone from a 4x shirt to a L. I still want to lose another 25lbs, but I am pretty much a totally different person to who I was several years ago. And I did this despite some serious medical issues that really limited my workout options. So yes you can do it. You just have to…

What are these extreme restrictions people keep talking about. I have found it very easy. However I don't eat out and love preparing my own food, so maybe that is what people are talking about. But the idea that it is easy to be Vegetarian but going the extra step (which for most people is mainly about milk and cheese) is…

Even your facial hair has slimmed down! Fantastic job.

I've lost 134lbs, want to lose about 25 more. You can do it. It's a marathon not a sprint, and you're the tortoise not the hare, remember that and you can do it. Oh and feel free to add me if you want.

Have healthy snacks available so you don't find yourself at the end of the day looking at fast food or vending machines.
