  • I take classes, so I have an "appointment" scheduled for myself. Doesn't matter if its Monday at 7pm or Wednesday at 10am. I have tried multiple classes, decided which classes (and which instructors) motivate me. Its on my calendar and I've set reminders on my phone. You can also look at as an investment in yourself. You…
  • YES! It's so easy that way. I cook quinoa in our rice cooker with some chicken bouillon. (or chicken stock) Agree with sweet or savory. There are a ton of quinoa recipes on Pinterest that I've saved and plan to try in the next month! Good protein and dietary fiber. I buy quinoa at Costco since it can be expensive. I guess…
  • Tons of great recipes on this blog http://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/ She's all over Pinterest, too
  • Don't give and keep going to class or keeping moving to the video! I started with ordering videos from QVC and I wasn't as motivated to do it myself at home on a regular basis - but there are A LOT of people on here working out at home with DVD's and games and youtube videos and are very successful and motivated to work…
  • I got the Flex and just got it set up, working, tracking, and syncing. Go here to see devices and see comparisons: https://www.fitbit.com/comparison/trackers I like the Flex because I can wear the bracelet and I like how it tracks steps, movement, calories burned, and tracks sleep (or lack thereof). I will be joining a…
  • Definitely agree that you should enjoy a slice tonight. Plan a great workout today - or even get in a little secondary workout afterwards! If it helps, eat a good salad/veggies, and drink some water before you go, so you don't go in super hungry! Enjoy the evening with your family!
  • Following! And where is everyone finding the PB2? I've been wanting to try it. :flowerforyou:
  • I do agree with those that have said this - sometimes I just need to eat what I'm craving or I start snacking on random stuff. I so wish I could eat yogurt, but that is one of my migraine triggers. I do like the Blue Diamond toasted coconut almonds. 28 almonds is a big snack for me. I usually split it in half and eat 14…
  • Following! I do love the crock pot. You can always prepare/chop the night before so in the morning you dump it all in, set and forget or cook overnight if you need a packed lunch. Even breakfast casserole can be cooked in the crock pot. I want to make again a sweet potato ground turkey stew ( I don't know calorie count…
  • Following! I like frozen fruit, or chopped walnuts with a dash brown sugar or honey or raisins cooked in
  • I just got the Flex for Christmas. I'm getting online to figure out how to use it. Hopefully it gets easier to put on my wrist. LOL
  • Dang spell check and my toddler distracted me from finishing what I was trying to say If you're so sick and bed ridden, are you under the care of a Doctor?? Something sure doesn't sound right and your body needs something. On a low budget, it's understandable you just have to eat best you can. I'm no expert, but I thought…
  • I've lost about 20 lbs since June but I've completely stalled out. No worries though as I keep chugging away. I've been sick and injured and sidetracked and lazy aquarium
  • Following! I need new workout pants and shirts. Not sure where to go. I'm about the same size as you are. I haven't tried Lane Bryant. I didn't look at their Cyber Monday or Black Friday sales, unfortunately.
  • Food trigger: Yogurt, aspartame Other triggers: dehydration, menstrual, stress I take Excedrin Migraine - I can get a very sore neck & shoulders first, so I put IcyHot on in hopes to prevent the migraine. Occasionally a heat pad or ice pack helps too. I never get the aura and a lot of times, I wake up with the migraine…
  • For me, my husband and child care it's $70/month
  • I'm still going to indulge, but I will be going to the gym, even while I'm on vacation, and I will take a nice long walk after a big meal, or do some sort of exercise, to help balance it out. You can also try to drink a big glass of water beforehand to help you get fuller faster. And chew slowly; don't scarf it down. Enjoy…
  • I love the flavored almonds in a can- the coconut ones are great! One serving is 28 almonds which is plenty for me! Or split up the serving to pair with string cheese
  • I absolutely agree with this. Even when the scale wasn't moving for me, or I was gaining and losing the same 2lbs, I still lost a lot of inches. I take measurements every 30 days. I absolutely refuse to weigh myself any more than once a week. I tried a daily weigh in and I was more depressed and discouraged, then…
  • 800,000 federal employees were sent home on unpaid furloughed 10/1. And while most should receive back pay, eventually, there are contract employees that were furloughed and will not get any back pay. There was a story of a 92 year old woman, America's oldest full-time park ranger, that was furloughed. And plenty of…
  • I've been overweight my whole life, and its taken me this long to finally WANT it. I still have my ups and downs but I'm more motivated than ever. We never really take advice to heart when we're young, because you feel you have all the time in the world. You don't want to be 40, like me, looking back and wondering where…
  • There's a big 40's club on here! I'm married with a 3 year old. You're welcome to add me. I'm just getting back on track, but I've been on here for over 100 days!
  • Agreed. The 1st time I took LesMills BodyPump class, my thighs were on fire for 3 days due to all the squats. Pain subsided and after the 2nd class, a week later, it wasn't nearly as bad. I did stretch and take a Zumba class or two the same week.
  • Oh, I don't have a smart phone either :/
  • I'm in the 40+ club and along with James' wife, I'm loving this site, great MFP friends, and having continued success as I drop the weight and finally know I can achieve my goal and get below 200 (where I've been for over 15 years). Feel free to add me!
  • A lot of great advice here! I'm currently trying some links I've read about on the forums; like figuring out your TDEE http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/912920-in-place-of-a-road-map-3-2013 http://scoobysworkshop.com/accurate-calorie-calculator/ I also take Zumba classes and someone gave me this link to help…
