The gross fast foods don't taste like they did anymore. I used to love mcdonalds fries - now when I have them (because they still smell fantastic) they just taste like old grease - not appealing at all. I'm glad because it isn't a problem anymore to say "no" to those foods.

My father passed away in May2010, 5 months after I started MFP, I also had thyroid surgery in 2010 and my MIL died March 2011 from the same cancer that killed my dad. It is easy to fall back into our bad habit of comforting ourselves with food but it doesn't really make us feel better. The best advice I can give is to feel…

I tend to be a smartass, so my responses tend to be shocking but they reduce the pushing phenomenon ... the last time a co-worker asked me if I wanted a donut, I said "No, would you like to smoke some crack" ... it stunned her but she hasn't done it since.

I had a hemithyroidectomy in April 2010. My doctor recomends that I eat 1800 calories a day, I don't not eat back exercise calories because it balances out with the days I don't excercise to keep me about 1200 net. He also recommends that I drink a gallon of ice water a day. I just had my meds (Synthroid) upped because my…

My doctor recommends a gallon of ice water a day. He does not allow me to include other beverages in my water total.

Check your community for a soup kitchen or food pantry. My husband is the chef in the local soup kitchen. They serve healthy meals 4 nights a week and provide food boxes as well as free produce and breads.

I have two siamese cats, brother and sister, who are 3 years old. They were brought home together, get along most of the time but sometimes they fight like maniacs. Just give it some time. They need to establish their boudaries.

I was a single mom of two so I understand how difficult it can be. Try finding exercises that your son can do with you like fitness games on gaming systems. I personally like the hula hoop and one of my co-workers has just started doing it with her daughter. I hoop at work twice a day for 15 to 20 minutes at a time while…

I stuff my avocado with pico de gallo - or just eat it with a little salt and a spoon. My husband spreads it on an english muffin instead of butter.

My father had an affair when my parents had been married about 16 years. He moved out but my mother kept hope and after 10 months he moved back in. It completely changed their relationship. He passed away in 2010 - they had been married for 46 years. My mother has said that in spite of the hurt of the affair, it changed…

Unfortunately it is still "okay" to pick on the fat person - the last group allowed to be discriminated against. Don't let other peoples BS affect you. Sorry it happened - but maybe the person is jealous that you are succeeding.

I use my breaks at work to hula hoop. You can take a walk or do the stairs. You can't find the time - you have to make it.
-
I made a weighted hula hoop. There are also lots of exercise videos and clips available online. I also liked Jillian Michaels 30 day shred, only $10 at Walmart.
-
Try a weighted hula hoop. I enjoy it and I can do it in my living room while watching tv.

Vegetable quesadilla or fish at the local mexican place. I usually divide any restaurant meal into two portions and put one in a to-go container before I start eating. I also pay a little extra to substitute a side salad for fries or other high fat side dish.

I'm interested

Substitute plain, nonfat greek yogurt for sour cream to make dips or with your mexican items - you can't taste the difference.

Good for you

I would totally do that to anyone in my family ... and I KNOW they would do it to me. Sometimes you just have to laugh at stuff cause it is funny.

You need to look at your insecurities outside of your relationship. Your partner does not and should not determine your value as a person - that is up to you. I have been overweight for over 20 years. I just married my wonderful partner of 7 years. I was 275 pounds when we started dating - he is 7 years younger and many of…

I worked in a doctors office and had to get one. I told her they always make me sick - I missed 3 weeks of work and she never made me get another one.

I was a single mom with two kids .. you can't find the time you have to MAKE it. Don't cook every night. I cooked on the weekends and froze the meals to be reheated during the week. Or cooked a casserole that could last a few days. Involve your child in your exercise. Go for walks pushing the stroller. Get her to dance…

I totally get where you are coming from. As a teenager I was 5'8" and wearing a size 7 or 9. My mother was always on a diet and kept me on one because my friends who were much shorter wore sizes 3 and 5. When I went away to college I gained a ton of weight because I had no idea how to make good choices. I had always been…

This is not a healthy situation for you OR your children. Get out. I believed that crap 20 years ago when my marriage ended - that no one would want me. But it was a LIE. I am now a happy and newly married. So glad he left me - it broke my heart at the time but it was the best thing that ever happened for me and my kids.…
