I took up Olympic air pistol 4 months ago, I found my health and weight were hindering me, my goal is Rio in 2016 so I need to get fit and lighter, whether I get there or not doesn't matter, the journey is great fun. Oh and made #3 in county (State) in just 2 months, I have a knack when it comes to precision shooting :)…

If you have a smart phone, I would recommend the Polar H7, its a blue tooth heart rate strap and allows the phone to do everything a dedicated watch will do but without having to buy yet another watch, especially if like me you are never without your phone :)

I too have suffered from shin splints, a few things I learnt which have helped cure or at least lessen the pain are: 1. Make sure your shoes offer the right type of support, get your running gait, checked by someone who knows what they are doing. 2. Learn to run on the balls of your feet, not heel impact rolling to toes,…

More than happy for you to add me, in fact anyone can add me. I will give help and support where possible :)

I've always been pretty laid back when it came to my own health, though I quit smoking in Dec 12 and joined a gym a few weeks ago, if nothing else but to treat myself and maybe shift a few extra Kgs. However after a couple of things that made me visit the doc, i had loads of tests and bloods taken, 2 days ago I got the…

70 days ago I was a 2 pack a day smoker, after 6 weeks of quitting I joined a gym and started to use the treadmill, my breathing consists of getting as much air in and then getting rid of it so I have room for more incoming. Maybe there is a correct way to breath when running but I prefer to concentrate on making the next…

Having done a lot of sport in the past, I used to use Polar heart rate watches, I've now gone back to them as a way of monitoring my exercise and calorie burning. My doctor and Gym both said the Polar system was as good as any. If you have a smart phone they even have a bluetooth chest strap that will link to the phone,…
