I do a similar thing - only control briefs. Have gotten so used to them that when I put on the pretty ones (dress-up  or dress-under sets) am uncomfortable!

Okay - she said one scoop in her instructions. BUT what is a scoop? Just in case they vary by brand. 1/4 cup? 3 T? what?

Here's an easy way to poach egg using microwave: fill a 1-cup microwaveable bowl or teacup with 1/2 cup water. Gently crack an egg into the water, making sure it’s completely submerged. Cover with a saucer and microwave on high for about 1 minute, or until the white is set but the yolk is still runny. Use a slotted spoon…

Are you menu-planning with your daily calorie allowance as the guide? I agree with strebor337. If you plot your daily calories (being sure to have a balanced plan), follow the basic training protocol, and do not deviate you'll stand a far better probability of meeting your goal. Usually deviation isn't that big a deal -…

Many studies start with lab rats - human trials follow. Everything from the effects of saccharine to carcinogenics. So a rat-based study is not to be dismissed quickly. To reference one isn't calling a person a rat - that's just the way it's done.

what is this?

* Have you gone through the initial steps of computing your recommended daily kcal intake, ...? Critical* If you want to ease into it maybe start by planning your daily menus and inputting to match your maintenance weight. Just a thought til you get into the habit. I had to jump in when losing and am now getting back into…

I think of restarting as a time to cure summer excesses - you may know what I mean. Beer on the beach or as a reward after working in yard in summer heat, mussels w/ sour-dough bread in outdoor restaurant at end of a summer day, all that stuff. Time to clean the system and get ready for cold weather!

Not as tall as you, but have faced the same physical problem (broad/muscular) since a teenager. Once was told (in high school) that "too bad you're a girl cause we need you on the football team"! I was crushed cause that was when I was fairly slender! Anyway, as time went by learned that I could use my physique to appear…

Sounds wonderful but that's a lot of calories for most of us:blush:

Okay, there is no substitute for ice cream. Sorry - I've tried all the alternates (well not ALL, but you get the idea). Control serving options (100 cal. Breyers, Yasso Frozen Yogurt pops, Outshine yogurt pops) work best for me. One thing I just did that was tasty. Stirred a packet of 20-calorie hot cocoa powder (Hersheys…

BMI is a tool, just like our kitchen scale for its purpose or our bathroom scale for its purpose. BMI, healthy weight ranges for our height/gender, appropriate daily calorie intake - based on multiple factors. These are all best information methodologies based on the science at hand. It may change as we move forward, but…

She said she didn't (as in did not) dislike her body that much.

Oooooo Are you criticizing yourself for snacking on a boiled egg? That's funny!

Yes, if you're being accurate about your calorie intake and trying to stay close to 1200 or 1500 kcal daily - or whatever your goal is. An average serving of the lower-calorie vegetables (think zucchini, broccoli, green beans, ...) is usually between 25 and 35 calories. So if you select that type veg most of the time, and…

Try skipping that "smidge too much alcohol" for a week. My husband harmed his liver and that moved into kidney issues even after he quit drinking excessively. The resulting edema made him poofy! That's probably not the case here, but skip a week and see. As others have said, there are other things that will make you retain…

25 more? Why? Are you still overweight? Or 25 lbs heavier than the lowest point on your healthy weight range?

Breyers has portion-control 100 calorie snack cups (chocolate and vanilla). They're really small, but they're real ice cream and tasty.

Babybel light cheese - 50 calories per wheel Parmesan cheese whisps - 100 calories per 15

Spent an hour or so yesterday pruning trees & then hauling the debris/branches out of the yard. Wanted a cold beer so much after going inside that it was almost physical pain! Winter is easier for me to control calories.

So sorry about your health. Know it must be disconcerting at only 36! Do you plan your daily nutritional goals and calorie intake based on a sedentary lifestyle? I'm fairly sedentary, with bursts of activity, and that hasn't been overly difficult.

1 diet soda or iced tea daily? I think the biggest concern is for those who drink them as their daily alternatives to water. I could be wrong. I do know that I was told a long time ago to steer away from the "brown" sodas - like coca cola or pepsi - but never knew exactly why. Clear options (Sprite, ...) were considered…

Tell us what you think of as "eating healthy". Healthy doesn't have to translate to Plain even though we often approach it that way. I see your list of real food - the secret may be in the preparation. Lean meat. for example, CAN be dry - but if you cook it in moist heat, or crock-pot, or marinade/grill, or even cube for…

Sweetie! At the very least one man does not find you fat, old and ugly! And when I saw your smiling face I didn't see anything like that either! I don't know your height, but unless you are a dwarf size 14 will not make you look like a cow dressed in lace. If 30 lbs is all that stands between you and the size that you want…

Why? But to answer your original question. Yes, that's too fast.

"About to separate" Does he know? Odd post

Height? "Fish Fingers" - breaded? fried? baked? Just lots of missing information before we can make suggestions. Overall sounds pretty good but not enough data to help. Portions?

Are you taking a multi-vitamin and/or biotin as suggested earlier? If you don't like taking pills (I'm one of that number) good gummy options are out there - not calorie-free but you can add them into your daily calorie allowance. The addition of 100 calories of a good fat (if you're not already doing that) was also a good…

You could probably make a modified etoufee, using shrimp and doubling or tripling the vegetables. Here's one I just spotted from Cooking Light: http://www.cookinglight.com/eating-smart/recipe-makeovers/super-shrimp-etouffee
