  • I've been going round and round in my head about this one. We usually do ham and cheesy hashbrown casserole. But I am thinking of switching it up completely. Maybe kabobs on the grill with a ton of veggies and lean meats. I don't know though. I want it to be nice, I want everyone to enjoy it and not feel like I am limiting…
  • I really like the really thin sliced cheese, it makes it feel like I am getting more, and I am better able to portion it out for a sandwich. I think it's like 45 calories a slice. I prefer Sargento's thinly sliced provolone if I am having a turkey sandwich. For roast beef, I like Colby or medium cheddar.
  • So many people have pushed eating more and more protein. That is the advice I keep getting, but when I use a calculator to determine my lean body mass, I get 96 lbs. So that means as long as I get 96 grams of protein, I'm good, right? Others have recommended closer to 150, and I just haven't figured how to get close to…
  • I love their Apricot Chicken, and it is one of their "healthier" entrée choices.
  • Aww, thanks Loriannelittle. I find that I just freeze when trying to decide what I should eat so I just don't eat anything, and then get hungry to the point that I need to just eat something and then justifying things that maybe aren't the best choices. Like right now at this moment, I am soooo very hungry. But in trying…
  • Because I am not very good at it. After years of gym class, trying my very best and still being the very worst, it became something I despised. Public Humiliation throughout elementary, middle, and high school will do that for you. I feel guilty taking the time to do it for myself. It usually means putting the kids in…
  • Any recommendations for a good food scale? Currently I do measure everything, but I know that food scale would be more accurate.
  • Sorry, I haven't figured out how to capture individual comments to respond. But thanks for your input, everyone. Frozen greek yogurt, I really like the blueberry one, but did not care for the chocolate one at all. And typically, I love chocolate. How do I fit the protein in with out processed foods. Eating deli meat has…
  • I actually don't consider myself someone that eats out often. Pizza nights are Friday night at out house, and I either make it myself (usually) or buy Papa Murphy's. Other than that a random playdate, might bring me to McDonald's every couple weeks, and if I am traveling. But on an average month, I probably eat out 2-3 a…
  • I find it easiest to drink 16 oz at a time intead of 8 oz. If between meals you drink one large glass (16 oz), it is easier to get that in 3 times a day, then add in what you drink during a meal and you're there.
  • I log everything except water. I used to log that too, but now I just try to always have a glass of water going. This thread did remind me that I need to add a dash of pepper to my food log. When I started this I decided I would log everything for 6 weeks, and see where that puts me on the scale and with fitting in my…
  • I'm a SAHM. I have 6 kids ages 2-11. Feel free to add me. I am just starting this journey, and really am having to force myself to carve out time to take care of my self with kids in tow.
  • Thanks for the opinions.
  • I am a SAHM, 6 kids ages 11 and under. I am so new to all of this, just figuring things out as I go, but feel free to add me.
  • I am a hesitant to make a specific goal like that, I still haven't quite figured out my body and what I need to do to lose weight. So my goals are ones that I feel like I can have control over. I promised myself for 6 weeks I would try this and log in every day, and develop an exercise program for myself. I am now on week…
  • I tried a Leslie Walking one on youtube, it was 2 miles in 30 minutes. I was so happy to finally do a workout and keep up. I can see me using those to switch things up from the treadmill. Thanks for the recommendations!!!!! I hadn't thought to check on Netflix, we get that streamed on our TV's so I will check things out…
  • I'll look into slim in 6 and the walk away the pounds dvds. Thanks. Just tried 1 round of the nerd fitness beginning circuit, I am drenched in sweat, and yet less sore than I woke up this morning. That is a good thing to know and remember, that sometimes when I am sore that working out will help instead of making it worse.
  • Thank you so much for the input. I just checked out the nerd fitness beginner work out, and I think I can give that I try, and I know I should stick with the shred thing, too. Then as I get more comfortable with those, I will look into kettlebells, and the billy blanks stuff (although I am a terrible dancer with NO…
  • Thanks for the input so far. And Bump
  • Thanks for the encouragement ladies. I guess that was a lesson learned. I know that I will be over on calories now today. I have class tonight and don't want my stomach growling there. I already had plans for this weekend that I knew were going to be tough to keep low calorie, so I was trying to be good all week. I was…
  • Thanks for the encouragement ladies! I feel like I am trying this blind. I really hope to learn what things work best for me. There is so much conflicting advice that I really just don't know how to do this for me. Myfitnesspal calculator is saying I should have a 1200 calorie intake, but I see so many people saying that…
