Another week stuck at the same weight. 38 pounds down, but no loss for two weeks. I've been trying to switch to TDEE-20%, though, so it's not surprising... just frustrating...

I'm hoping to get one of the many tattoos I've been planning for years, but we're so broke I don't know if it will actually happen. Who knows, though? It's going to take at least a year, and a lot can happen in a year...

Check out my diary- I definitely have trouble hitting my goal!! I am lucky to net above my BMR most days. But, I've only been doing this for a couple of weeks, so I'm considering this my transition period and I'm going to try to be eating AT my goal in a month.

My go-to for extra calories is a green smoothie. Here's a vegan one: 1 handful spinach 1 large banana 2 tablespoons peanut butter 1 cup soy or almond milk Super easy and it's like 400 calories.

When I first started lifting, my arms got bigger, but as I've lost fat they have gotten smaller again. Now they just look much more muscular and less flabby (note: still flabby. just less! I have a lot of fat left to lose.).

Oh that's something I didn't even think about- I LOVE full fat greek yogurt but cut it from my diet after starting VLCD. That's a great idea, thank you! I eat a lot of nuts and peanut butter, but I hadn't thought about full fat dairy. Thanks!

Woohoo, awesome! My numbers are very close to yours and I was super excited to be "just obese" on the scale as well! Though honestly- I'll never be in the "healthy range" as I am prone to being muscular, so my GW is around 155-160 and if I'm higher than that but healthy with a low body fat % I'll be just as happy. :)

Whew! Glad you figured it out. I know, it seems like an awful lot, right? I was eating 1200-1400 calories a day and my TDEE-20% is over 2200! Super overwhelming. I'm only a week into trying this and I've had good days and bad, but I'm trying to work my way up to that number. Currently I'm trying to at least get over my…

Thank you so much! That helps a lot. I'll work on just getting to 1800 or so for a week or two, and see how I feel.

Also going with "cake". My sister's birthday party is tomorrow, and I'm probably going to be making her birthday cake. I'll be d***ed if I don't eat some of the cake I bake! I'll have a small piece and plan for it within my calories and macros. No big deal. :)

My very very favorite green smoothie recipe: 1 handful fresh spinach - 7 cal 1 cup almond milk (unsweetened) - 30 cal 1 banana (frozen is best) - 100 cal 1 small handful frozen dark sweet cherries - 18 cal 1 tbsp cocoa powder - 10 cal It tastes like black forest cake and is only about 165 calories!
-
Whoa, wait, what? How on earth are you getting 1600calories? When I put your info into that calculator it says more like 2600 calories! Was that a typo? I'm afraid I'm no help on the reset (I'm just starting to up my calories myself) but you might want to check the calculator again, unless that was a slip of the finger!

I'd love to be added, thanks!

Still at exactly the same weight- 233.2- that I was last Friday. But I'm transferring from VLCD to TDEE-20%, so that's not surprising. Hoping to kick things up a notch this week and lose a bit more! (but hey, at least my brand new size 18 jeans fit great- I started in 22/24!)

Update! I steeled myself and did the free weights! It wasn't bad at all, really, though I'm pretty sure my squat technique is terrible. I'll have to practice without weights, at home, to figure it out better. No one looked at me or said anything, so I'm thinking it's a win! Also, holy heck, it was HARD! I used 10 pound…

Thanks for the tips, everyone! I'll start looking for a program. I don't know that Stronglifts 5x5 will work because it's so focused on the barbell, and there are only two at my gym (it's a super small one, but it's the closest). I am hoping to find a plan that mostly uses dumbbells. I'm not sure I'm capable of asking…

I've been going for four months and that's never gone off once. I'm not even sure it's a real thing. I haven't had a single issue there, and at least at the one I go to I've never seen anyone be mean to anyone else. There are people from 90lbs to 500lbs every time I go. It's really nice.

Roast them in a tiny bit of olive oil with garlic, basil, and a little sea salt. Super delicious! You can mix in regular potatoes, carrots, parsnips, etc if you want more variety.

I had a muffin (one of the large store-bought kind, usually chocolate chocolate chip or lemon poppyseed) for breakfast every day, except once a week when I would have a large starbucks drink and a piece of their lemon loaf or gingerbread. On weekends I would just skip breakfast entirely or have cookies or ice cream. For…

Thank you! Yeah, I'm two sizes smaller in both shirts and pants, so you'd think *someone* would notice, but nope! Oh well. At least I feel a lot healthier, eh?

I just want someone-- anyone-- to notice that I've lost weight without me having to say something first. I've almost lost 40lb and I still haven't had a single person mention it unless I mention it first. :( I know I'm still big, but seriously, 40lb!

I'm currently eating 1300-1500 and I am very curious about and want to try eating TDEE-20%. So many people have had good results and it makes sense to my intellectual self, but my emotional self is nervous about trying it- afraid I'll just start packing on the pounds. I work out 5x/week, 3 days cardio and heavy lifting, 2…

Wow. Some of these are agonizingly horrifying. The worst meal I've ever had was actually in Cambodia, in a floating restaurant in the middle of Tonle Sap Lake. The menu wasn't very detailed (and only in Khmer, so I didn't understand most of it) but I ordered something that from what I could tell was called "Chicken and…

My favorite snack is more of a drink- I'm a green smoothie girl! You can tailor the calories by putting different fruits and additions like protein powder, peanut butter, yogurt, etc. but the base of spinach, a banana, and water is only about 110cal. I'm not the kind of person who needs something to crunch on, though (I…

Green smoothies are toxic and will kill you. and of course, the obvious "____ is the ONLY WAY to lose weight/get fit!" no, I'm sorry, I can list at list four personal acquaintances who all lost large amounts of weight using completely different methods.

My mom lost 130lb just cutting calories... though she did completely give up sugar for the duration. I couldn't handle that, myself!

OP, I will trade you. Seriously, I have lost 35lb and NONE of it has been from my breasts. I started a 42DDD, went down to a 40DDD, and now I'm a 38DDD. I swear to you, if I end up a 34DDD, I am going to be seriously unhappy! :( (it may help to know that I had a reduction 6 years ago and went from a 38I/J to a 38D and then…

Butterfinger bars. Luckily I discovered that Slim Fast makes a snack bar (peanut butter crunch time snack bar) that is VERY similar to a butterfinger and OMG so delicious! Best part is it's only 100 calories.

Female Age: 27 Height: 5'6" HW: 270 CW: 235 GW: 155 but much more interested in pure fitness, strength, flexibility, etc. than the number on the scale. Also into heavy weight lifting and yoga more than cardio, etc. Feel free to add me.
