Our trick (for an 8 year old who has very little appetite and rejects most non-dairy proteins due to side effects from a very much necessary anti-epileptic drug) is what we call his "power cookies". We take a basic chocolate chip cookie recipe, replace half of the flour with quinoa flour and often use whole wheat flour for…

Hey fellow Kansan, I'm in a similar boat, having struggled as long as I can remember with my weight. I recently realized that I now weigh more than I did right before I delivered my fourth kid. Ouch. After a long winter battling a terrible case of pneumonia that just wouldn't go away, I'm finally regaining some energy and…

Sounds good to me!

1. 187.2 2. just 0.2 down again this week 3. NSV - while the scale's not changing much, I'm seeing differences in how my clothes fit 4. Goals for the week: Better logging - I had all sorts of technical issues this week! And surviving a weekend trip without a gain. 5. weight to go by Christmas: 22.2

1. 187.4 2. 0.2 down 3. NSV - those C25K weeks are ticking by and most of the time, it's seeming easier rather than harder. Yes! 4. Goals for the week: A better week of eating, for sure! Between having a very sick little boy most of last week, working a 12 hour night shift Friday, and coming home to a still-sick kid and…

Hey, my friend - I don't have much to add that hasn't already been said, but didn't want to pass this without saying something. I KNOW for a fact that you can do it. You were such an inspiration to me in the spring, with a dedication that I still can't quite seem to equal! It's not like you're starting from scratch, anyway…

Had a nice NSV today - I've been working my way through C25K and it's been tough just about every day. Today, I got all the way through and went "Wait, that's it? I'm finished and still feeling good?" so I added an extra chunk of running into my walk home from the park...and I still didn't feel like I was dying.

1. 187.6 2. 4.8 down - I knew last week's included a crazy amount of water retention from a weekend on the road. 3. NSV - battled the heat and humidity to get out and run 3 times this week, almost made my no caffeine goal (gave in Saturday to combat a bad headache) 4. Goals for the week: trying again for no caffeine and…

I rarely cook with a recipe, so I always have to just note what I'm throwing in the pan and add everything up afterwards (not much help to others, I know!), but we had one of my favorite salads tonight. Romaine lettuce, usually with spinach mixed in, but I somehow forgot to get the spinach out today black beans corn…

Not doing so well here today. I'm battling a little bit of a cold and ALL I want to do is sleep. My run Tuesday was great, but not since. Wednesdays was too chaotic to fit one in, yesterday I only managed about half of what I wanted to do before I was sore and tired, and we were so disorganized and moving so slowly this…

1. 192.4 2. none - actually, a bit of a gain. Bad, bad road trip eating. 3. moved forward a week in C25K yesterday and it wasn't as hard as I'd expected 4. no caffeine, more water, getting out to run 4 times 5. weight to go by Christmas: 27.4

Hey, I'm Michelle. 33 years old, mom of 4. I joined MFP this spring and did really well for the few weeks that I remembered to log in every day, but that didn't last long! Finding time for exercise (and time to come log things here) is my biggest challenge - we homeschool our kids, one has some major medical issues and…

I like both the french onion and the garlic herb on Kavli crispbreads or in a wrap with turkey and spinach.

We love roasted veggies. I chop up whatever we have on hand (last time was carrot, broccoli, zucchini, yellow squash, red onion, red and green pepper, and jicama), toss them in a tiny bit of olive oil, minced garlic, and crushed red pepper, spread them out on a baking sheet, and then throw them in a 425 degree oven for a…

You have to make time - finding it just won't happen. I'm 32, homeschooling mom of four (13, 7, 6, and 2). I work part-time (weekend overnights). My oldest is a competitive fencer, so we have to get him back and forth to lessons five to six times a week. The 7 year old and 2 year old both have multiple medical conditions,…

My oldest son passed me up in height at age 10. At 13, he's just a hair under 6'.
-
Yes, that. My measurements are almost identical to yours, though I opted for a slower loss so I'm eating 1610 a day. I feel like I'm eating a huge amount of food most days, but I'm eating tons of roasted veggies, fresh veggies chopped up on green salads, and lots of chicken, turkey breast, yogurt, and eggs for easy…

That's me, too, except I'm at home (and homeschooling) four kids. Lots of homemade real food meals here.

Done, as is yesterday's challenge that I just saw this morning.

I'm not a team sport player at all, but sabre fencing rocks!

Suburb of Kansas City here. 10" on the ground when I shoveled at 1:00 this afternoon, and it's snowing pretty heavily again. Yuck!

I love to cook; I love to eat. I'm all about adding nutritional value to our favorite recipes, but not so much into cutting calories out, as my 7 year old needs every calorie we can get into him (multiple health issues and one of his very necessary medications completely kills his appetite) and my teen works out hard at…

Me, me! I'm 32, mom of 4, hoping to get rid of about 50 pounds, and not a fan of netspeak at all.
