i don't know if this helps, either, but I think I read that restaurants can have a margin of error of something like 20% on their calorie estimates?!?! I'm going to try to hunt that article down.

I am a "shortie" at 5 feet 2 inches. I finally had an "ah hah" (or "duh") moment when I really looked at my TDEE. My TDEE, for example, is about 1600 calories. With no exercise at all, if I follow a 1200-calorie a day diet, I'm only creating a weekly caloric deficit of 2800 calories (aka, less than a pound a week for loss…

Sounds like you have had a much worse case than I did. I went to the ER for one night because I was having stabbing pain in my chest any time I tried to breathe- I had no fluid on my lungs. Did you have pericarditis and something else (the infection?) Pericarditis is just swelling of the sac around your heart-the lung…

I did, many years ago. They put me on heavy doses of Motrin for two weeks and I also had to rest during that time (in the middle of training for my first half-marathon, I was going stir-crazy by the end!!) Normal actually took at least a month, and I was able to run the half-marathon, but I had to take baby steps and not…

I like Kroger's Simple Truth Double Chocolate protein bars. They are usually about 80 cents apiece, over 20 grams of protein, and taste pretty good.

I kind of think of it like turning a switch "on" or "off" with motivation. You're either going to make time for your goals, or you're not. You already know that once a week for exercise is not going to help you create the kind of calorie deficit you need to lose any weight, and it's the little extra snack here or there…

Usually about three months, in my experience, for larger gyms. I also go at the end of the work day, so that might be why it seems to linger for so long-it's busy during that time year-round, but worse after the new year.

1 microwave baked potato, as small as you can find 1/4 cup (measure it!) shredded cheese 1/5 avocado 2 T salsa 3 oz whatever meat or meat substitute you want Microwave potato for 7-8 minutes. (Poke holes in it with a fork if you didn't get one of those prepackaged potatoes!!!) cut potato in half and then fourths so that it…

If I'm going to have a burger, I want real, good, lean ground beef, not that weird slab of beef and binder they make at fast food places. I only get a plain hamburger when I'm in a real pinch for protein.

Taco!!!!! (I would skip the tortilla, but that looks fantastic!)

I was a diet coke fanatic when I was younger. As others have said, it has no calories, so there's that. About 2 years ago, I changed over to a carbonated water machine, with a little lemon or lime juice added in. I had heard too many bad things about what the chemicals in diet drinks can do to you, and I wanted to…

Of course, you have been beautiful the whole time, but congrats to you for your hard work. You are a true inspiration.

So inspiring! And such a testament to your hard work. Congrats!

Chocolate chip cookie dough. I know it's a bad craving. I've gone a while now without it. I'm all or nothing with it, so I opted for nothing.

Me too! Please add!

You can definitely do this!!! I started running 14 years ago, walking 1 minute, then running 1 minute. 2 years later I ran a half-marathon. All it takes is putting in the time. Try a couch to 5k program. You should be able to find them all over the internet. Yeah!! So inspiring!

@ljmiller, that's a great idea! I'll have to try that the next time I have a craving.
-
That is awesome! Keep it up! You're doing a fantastic job!

Hey! Me too! Eating is good. I'd love to have more low-cal substitutes to make my favorite foods. I've learned several and am open to more. Nice to see the emphasis on health here. Please add!

Wonderful! I see you also are dressing more sharply! :)

I am a sweet-tooth stil trying to change my ways. I think education has been the best way for me to understand what sugar does in my body (and that includes all kinds of sugar, not excluding or including HFCS specifically). If you have the time (it's about 90 minutes) and really want to see how sugar affects your body,…

Basically any brand (most store brands have this, so you save on money) that is peanuts and salt only. I do love the idea of making it at home, but at the rate I use it, it's not terribly expensive to just buy.

A big congrats to you! It's so great that you're showing your accomplishments too. Using simple sites like these are a great way to lose and keep off weight, and you are a fantastic example of that! You should be really proud. :)
