I'm glad your way worked for you :) Thank you for posting your experience without judging whether it should work for me or not.

I'm also 5'6"... I suppose my activity level is also pretty high since I'm on my feet and constantly walking at least 9 hours a day, that would be how I lost the first 60 lbs or so without changing my diet. I'm just doing what my doctor has told me and I get asked why I would trust a doctor with my weightloss.,. really?!…

^^ This. Absolutely this.

1200 calories with 1500-2000 a day on the weekends is working for me. I make sure I can fit in snacks so I don't feel hungry between meals and I buy/use lower calorie items than I normally would so that I have more to eat. (Light bread, reduced fat cheese, fat free pudding, low carb tortillas) I don't do this because I'm…

I think the OP is being sarcastic... just a guess :)

As I stated before, when advice is asked for give it. Threads like this point fingers and say "You should do it this way" and that makes me and others want to point back and say "Who the *** are you to tell me what I should do?" Who are you to tell me your way is better than the way my medical professional tells me? You…

While I'm being all "STOP TELLING ME WHAT TO DO!" I should probably say I've pointed a couple of people involved in the biggest loser contest at work toward checking out the BMR/TDEE formula and this website emphasizing checking out the forums, simply because I know they haven't consulted their doctor and are trying to…

I'm not convinced the stuff is as evil as everyone says it is, and I do knowingly partake from time to time, but I choose to avoid it whenever possible. When I gave up pepsi and other soda's I chose not to start on the diet versions. Why give up something bad for me just to jump to something I see as just as bad? However…

LOL now this is funny :) However I"m sure most of them mean well, I just think they need to give advice when it's asked for, not come out telling us we're all wrong for our own choices or for following the advice of medical professionals instead of them.

Here's what I think, and this is just a personal opinion. Feel free to respectfully disagree. Why make a brand new thread to call out those people eating 1200 or fewer calories a day? Everyone who comes here posting "1200 calories, exercise, doing just what MFP says, no weight loss" should absolutely receive all of your…

I don't know why anyone would embark on a major change in their body without consulting their doctor. As a matter of fact I believe just about everything I've read about dieting and exercise advises people to consult their doctor before starting. What I'm doing is, so far, sustainable for me. I feel full and satisfied…

My doctor took down all my info, including measurements and a couple pictures, and consulted a nutritionist then emailed me a diet plan. I see her again Monday for blood work and update my progress. I'm sure she'll be in touch with the nutritionist if she sees something she doesn't like. I don't know why I'd trust anyone…

Eat the diet my doctor gave me (1200 calorie exchange cycling higher on weekends) or listen to folks on the interweb who've never met me, have no idea my medical history, and seem to enjoy attacking people for their choices... Yeah, I think I'll stick with the docs advice... thanks though!

^^ This Also, a hunk of chicken.

A fried is coming over tonight for girl time. We're going through my closet and a few boxes of clothes I put away to figure out what fits. I plan on tossing a few pairs of 18's :)

I went to the grocery this morning. I wore a T shirt I bought last summer that was too small. I bought only foods that were healthy and/or would fit into my daily plan. (I bought some treats for when I have cals left and my macros are met) I had to keep pulling up my jeans. I haven't had to wear a belt in awhile but it's…

All I have at work is a microwave. Some of my favorite lunches get spread on low-cal toast! Tuna salad (made with plain greek yogurt) Mashed avocado with tomatos and onions Spinach and shredded 2% cheese, melt cheese in micro and spread Another of my fav's is refried beans and 2% cheese, heat in micro, put in a low cal…

Edit for double post.

I read 'cupcake' and had to have a spoonful of the pre-made cream cheese icing I keep hidden :( That won't look good in my diary.... lol

I have a cheat day... Sunday dinner at my parents. I allow myself this one meal eating whatever my Mommy cooks (somewhat portion controlled) without the distraction of counting every calorie. It's more about enjoying my family than the food, to be honest, because I don't get near enough time with them and I'd rather…

You live in 900-1600 calories of cola a day, a snickers bar for lunch then one meal from the drive through totaling about 5000 calories for the day and tell me 1200 healthy calories spread out all day doesn't make you feel like you're stuffing yourself all day long. It does. I've been at this for 4 weeks, the first two…

Gotta try this one! Thanks!

I decided to try dried fruit for snacks.. I should NOT have chosen dried prunes. EW... just EW.

You might look into something called 'calorie cycling'. Basicly you have a couple days a week where you have 200-300 extra calories to work with. It's supposed to prevent the 'plateau'. I have dinner at my parents on Sunday and dinner with a friend every Wednesday. I call these my 'cycling' days and allow myself an extra…
