No I believe the OP mentions it...not you. Your suggestion was lovely. No worries.

If a complete stranger was on a diet, and had told you all their hopes and fears about it - would you offer them a chocolate bar or a Caramel Iced Latte with whipped cream? Of course not! Why do it to yourself then? You're the best person you know. You're already winning when you come on here instead of just going for it…

I have done very little cardio and lift weights instead. You burn fat like crazy. Now I'm going to start incorporating yoga. If you don't have money for weights, anything will do...around the house. Clean the house 3x in a row at a fast pace. It's a total body workout for sure! Vacuum three times, scrub the floors on hands…

I lift 5x a week right now and it got to be too much (sore knees, put my back out, and then got a cold, LOL) I felt like an old woman and ended up missing some days. I didn't feel as great as when I was lifting on three days. I'm going to lift Monday, Wednesday and Friday and on my off days I'll be doing an hour of YOGA.…

I just made roasted root vegetables last night! So delicious, and butternut squash is in there (also used sweet potato, baby red potatoes, baby carrots, sweet onion). Roast uncovered for an hour (after peeling and cubing), tossing in olive oil, pepper and parsley. Cook for 50 minutes at 450 degrees. Then, with 10 minutes…

I'm in Canada with brutal winters. I do however plan on buying some snowshoes, we have some great trails where I am and the crisp weather helps burn more calories when you're trying to stay warm! I bought free weights and a bench and The New Rules of Lifting for Women. I also joined a women's strength class that runs until…

Chapman's Frozen Yogurt, Blackjack Cherry! OH MY. A 1/2 cup is worth doing just about ANYTHING.

I was really surprised at labeling. I was eating Chicken breast (good) and entering it from scanning using the bar code. Apparently, if you look at the small print (which I now do) it stated that a portion size was HALF a chicken breast. So, instead of 4 oz I was eating 8 oz. Great for protein though! Now I carefully read…

I understand how you can feel upset. Imagine this. Walk up to a stranger on the street, and tell them they're a fat, lazy pig. Could you do it? I certainly hope not, it would be MEAN and NASTY. So why would you say it to yourself? Are you not worthy of the same treatment you would give a complete stranger? I'm here to tell…

Thank you so much for this!

Chicken and Bacon! Fry 5 pieces of bacon until crisp. Crumble and set aside. Fry boneless skinless chicken breasts in the bacon grease. Plop into the slow cooker with a can of cream of chicken soup, onions and mushrooms. Cook on low 4-5 hours KICKER - once finished cooking, add the bacon bits on top, and your favourite…

Oh so good...don't want to take over the OP post but quickly, fry 5 pieces of bacon until crisp (crumble and set aside in the fridge). Fry the chicken (boneless skinless) in the bacon grease. Plop in to a crockpot. Add Cream of Chicken soup (I use low fat - I think the bacon grease makes up for it). Then top with fresh…

I use IIFYM.com to set my macros intake and it includes Carbs, protein, Fat and Fibre. I'm set at just over 2000 calories per day, and I enter exercise so that I can see what I've done and when, but I do NOT allow MFP to count the calories, I just change the calories burned to 1 and try to stay within my macros. I was at a…

Yes, I think they're on to something though. One is blocking, and the other one is eating as I drop said food. And they're very happy with my protein rich meals I might add. If you want to catch a cat, try the Chicken and Bacon recipe in the crock pot. Plug it in, and once it starts getting warm, PRESTO - CATS EVERYWHERE!

I love love love lifting. The difference in TWO months at three times a week resulted in 17 inches and 19 lbs of fat GONE. (The right foods in the kitchen helped of course). Feeling fantastic!

I think the general consensus is that you can't slim down one particular area. You can however continue to lose body fat (80% diet and 20% gym). Strong legs are a beautiful thing! Learn to love your body for how it is now. If you love it, so will everyone else. There's always work to be done, but you have air in your…

There's so many...I think you should check with the employees at your gym and see if they can help you create a fun routine with weights that you won't find boring. You'll burn fat like crazy and feel like a million bucks...good luck!

I use a ready made shake from Premier Protein that I buy at Costco. It offers 30g of protein per shake. They're nice when you're not really hungry and need a little more protein in your diet. It sounds like you've got the world by the tail and are making a great stride in your journey. I started lifting about 2.5 months…

So many people extolled Kale virtues that I tried it. It tasted like a rancid weed and I had to chew it for 72 hours. Then I had green stuck in my teeth. Uhhhmmm, NO. I'll stick with spinach, sauteed in olive oil and minced garlic. So good!

I've heard a few: "You're half the woman I used to know!" "You'll blow away in a strong wind." Here's what I know is coming, which I think will help. I'm still at an unhealthy weight, but it's really starting to come off, and my commitment has doubled. I'm going to start getting the, "I think you're too thin." comments…

^^ Definitely this ^^...and please know that you'll be AMAZING at the wedding, you're going to work hard and it's going to pay off, and it doesn't matter what size your outfit is if you wear it with confidence. Congratulations!

I'm 5 ft 9" and it took about 40 lbs before anyone noticed (I was morbidly obese at the time). It's steadily coming off now, and I've been very open with everyone about this lifelong journey I'm on to become a healthy me. Those that see me every day have been amazing! Once I opened up and told them everything - they've…

After two months of lifting, my lean mass increased by .6 and I lost another 19.4 lbs of fat. She assumed my lean mass would drop to 150 lbs. I'm now lifting 5x per week instead of 3x per week. You're right though, there is likely water and fat built up in between those muscles, she was thinking about 7lbs of LM would be…

I was busy trying to set my healthy goal weight using a BMI chart. I set it at 159 lbs at 5 ft 9". Then, my trainer recommended a body composition analysis. I was so excited when I saw the tester write down 157lbs. I said, "Oh, that's very close to my goal weight." Her response to me was, "That's your lean muscle mass.…

Oh the Canadian Chip Lays - how I love you...I believe that we'll be introducing the chip flavour MAPLE MOOSE shortly. Salty and maple goodness!
