  • ^^This^^ is hilarious. My personal trainer stated that a lot of it is about weight training. It can really help if you start EARLY. Lift those weights...and good luck. Regardless of loose skin or not, train and eat right and get healthy on the inside...the outside will catch up!!
  • I think you should eat more (but haven't checked on your stats). 1200 isn't very much. I was eating 1200 as well, and the Nutritionists upped my intake to 1720 calories (so did MFP) and also my protein from 80g per day to 125g. Not sure what exercising you're doing - weight lifting is a plus. I would make sure that you…
  • I'm using Premier Protein (Ready Made) from Costco. It has 30g of protein and 1g of sugar. 160 calories. 3g of fat. 5g carbohydrates. 3g fibre. I like chocolate the best so far. It's so easy after my work out to drink one.
  • I'm just over 5 ft 9 and had body comp analysis done. My lean muscle mass is 157.1 lbs! My goal weight is now 180 lbs, and that's if I lean out to 135 lbs of muscle mass, and have 25% body fat. In order to get there, I'm weight training 3x per week and doing interval cardio 4x per week. I would strongly suggest that you…
  • ^^This^^ I was so proud of the lean menu item I chose (some chicken dish - which was delicious) from the under 550 calories and it had double that in sodium. WOW. I'd stick with a salad like item (with some chicken breast plain) and bring your own dressing if you can.
  • TURKEY BITES...YUM.
  • Not sure if you've had body composition analysis done and I was shocked at the difference in my weight goal that it made. Also, they told me to stay away from a scale and only use measurements to judge and/or pics. Sounds like you're in that mind frame anyway. There's been great advice here, but have you thought about…
  • Best explanation I've heard...thanks!
  • Seriously? A man who has a mean streak? Ya, that's a great idea do that...jump out of the pot and into the fire. You be YOU. Once I got older, even with family, I ask myself if I would befriend the person I'm talking to. If the answer is no, I just don't keep them in my circle anymore.
  • Me too...I've dropped 40 lbs and only went down 1 size! I can get the next size down on, and even zipped up, but still too tight. Because I have so much weight to lose, I thought my stomach would lose first (because it's the biggest). Unfortunately, it was chest mostly... It's okay though, the rest will come off when it…
  • ^^THIS^^ is one of the best things I've ever read. Congrats to you on your victory and on inspiring others to move towards theirs!! :flowerforyou:
  • I saw this poster and thought it applies: You're a TIGER who's earned her stripes. Don't worry about it. I have another 100 lbs to lose and I'm worried about what I'll look like after too...however, if someone doesn't like what they're looking at, they can always turn their heads. You've worked your butt off, and you…
  • Ahhhh ONEderland! Sounds fantastic, you must be sooooo proud. Can you imagine picking up 9 bags of potatoes and carrying them around with you everywhere you go? You're amazing, a real motivation to me! Congratulations! :flowerforyou:
  • Thanks so much for posting this! I love reading inspiring stories from those that have a similar amount of weight to lose.
  • Hey there...I have a ton of weight to lose and recently hired a personal trainer who is all about weights. She told me to get rid of my scale, and focus on pictures...you can literally change your body to what you want it to be with weights, kind of like shaping clay. So for me, the WHY WEIGHTS? question is answered: "The…
  • NO WAY could I lose 70lbs - but I lost 5lbs . . . 12 times. I wish you every success! [/quote] ^^THIS^^...is just about the best thing I've ever heard. That's the way to do it...one day at a time. :flowerforyou:
  • If you want to have a look at my diary I've been okay on sugars for the most part. I noted that the bananas are high as well, but seem to have done okay still eating them (one a day and usually in the morning. I'm on a high protein diet and taking in about 1200 calories a day. I go over my protein if possible. Helps keep…
  • ^^What she said times a million^^ Love my lapband and how things are working. I've spent over $25,000 so far, the most recent on a personal trainer. It's up to each of us to decide what works best for us, and for me, turning 40 this year, this was the best birthday present I could have ever given myself. You'll do what's…
  • I consume 1200 calories a day because I had a lapband placed on May 15th of this year. I had a hard time even getting to 1200 calories a day after surgery. I am considered morbidly obese and was and still am in a very dangerous medical condition. I'm getting better EVERY DAY. I am under the care of an Exercise Therapist,…
  • Listen hottie...you get out there and find things that fit you even better, and look even nicer than those clothes that got wrecked. At half your goal weight lost already, it's time to celebrate. You'll find AMAZING things, and God must have known that you deserve some more clothes to wear so took care of wondering whether…
  • No to number one - if you want to go, more power to you, but I don't need to be there. Especially if he can't be REAL without me there. To number two, which I have in fact said to my ex on occasion, go and have a great time, and then enjoy your hand later...don't wake me up expecting to look after what someone else…
  • ^^LOVE THIS^^ I love me some me! Nice...and a very motivational attitude I must say. Your confidence is GORGEOUS!
  • You said in your post EXACTLY what my trainer told me yesterday. Right now it's about weight loss, once I get close, and have a fitness level that can handle it, my priorities and technique will change. Thanks for this post...appreciate it!
  • Thanks for that link - tons of great recipes in there and I LOVE blue cheese. I appreciate it!
  • Frank's Red Hot Sriracha Hoisin Sauce (OMG soooo good) PB2 - new favourite, especially when made into a peanut sauce for Thai Chicken Kabobs
  • ^^^THIS^^^ is about the best thing I've ever heard. And congratulations on all the hard work. I don't think there's anyone out there who would say, but even after all that work you're still obese? Your pic is fantastic, and if someone dared to say that to you I would hit them with my car. I agree with everyone here, you…
  • ^^ALL of what she said...love that answer. I would also like to include the bikini.
  • Sounds great to me!
  • A Galathea...lol...I don't think that's a suit. Although he looks photo-shopped, I think he worked his *kitten* off for that and definitely deserves a 10 x inifinity - like WOW. Excuse the pause, had to wipe up my drool, it can damage the keyboard. Not sure who you thought you were rating but it was supposed to be…
  • It made me bloated regardless, perhaps from the carbonation or even the aspartame then? I'm just glad I kicked it. I don't tell myself that I can never have it again, but for now, I've stayed away from it and am enjoying the water. Thanks for the info...
