  • This is why I don't discuss my diet with anyone other than OH and my MFP friends! I cannot stand people saying "Oooh, should you be eating that?" or "that'll make you fat!". Tends to make me eat two just to show them! Even OH can be irritating, he's effortlessly slim and equates a low calorie meal with a small meal, so…
  • I'm fine until I eat processed food. Domino's pizza makes me gain 2lb overnight, just due to the high salt content! I drink lots of water and it's gone by the next day but it's not good I'm sure!
  • Lightweight! In the autumn, when we have apples from the trees in our garden, I can eat lots of apples in a day! 10 apples at 100 calories each is a lot of my daily allowance, this year I was more restrained, gave them away, cooked and froze them etc.
  • My weight this morning is 152.5lb So that's 8.5lb so far, 1.5 more to go by Christmas, not sure I'm going to get there! :drinker:
  • My niece has lost 50lb with Weight Watchers so it worked for her. The only problem I have with it is that it doesn't really educate you about healthy eating and the calorie content of food, wrapping it all up in magic "pro points", so you are bound to them for ever. If you enjoy the social aspect or feel that it helps to…
  • Me too. When I was mid- twenties I was a UK size 10 and a 34A. Five years ago I was a size 18 (possibly a 20, I was wearing a lot of stretchy clothes) but I was a 38C and I hated being fat but I loved having a cleavage! However, I'm now 10lb from target and I'm down to a 36A, I'm sad at the loss of my boobs but so pleased…
  • Clean your teeth, paint your nails and move away from the source of chocolate! Maybe you should consider not keeping a binge trigger in the house for a little while? I can't have cheesey biscuits anywhere near me for the same reason.
  • If they moved the fruit away from the candy then put it on your desk, between you and the sweeties. Make it a pretty, tinselly bowl and offer your fruit, nuts etc to everyone else, including your potential saboteur! Be smiley about it, explain that the high sugar treats upset your blood glucose balance and you just need to…
  • Paint your nails, it's almost impossible to open packets with newly-painted nails. I also find cleaning my teeth helps, we're all trained not to eat once our teeth are clean. Failing that graze on veggie sticks, carrots and celery are sooo good for you.
  • Me too, once that pack's open.........
  • I walked to work then walked to the shop rather than use the car.
  • Today was the first time that anyone commented, about 30lb down.
  • OK, today was so funny. One of my colleagues ran into my room, grabbed me by the arm and pulled me into her room saying "Come here!!" She then told me to take of my coat (we work in a school lab) and said in a awed voice "How much weight have you lost??" It turned out that she was looking for a photo on the computer and…
  • I started on 4th June and have lost 32lb in 27 weeks, my deficit is set to 1lb per week - so pretty close! In the past I've generally followed low carb/fat or very low calorie diets, I've always lost weight but felt miserable and deprived so couldn't stick with it for more than a month or so. This time I've eaten pretty…
  • You are all so good! I must try harder!:flowerforyou:
  • It might be worth seeing a podiatrist and having your feet checked to see if you need insoles. My son had problems with his knee, he's a strapping 17 year old, and it appeared he was over-pronating (hmm, could have that wrong) his foot which was putting strain on his knee. He now has supporting insoles and the problem went…
  • I think you have the right attitude! If you think people are sensitive then praise the look and/or smell of their offering but make an excuse, anything! An aversion to cheese, it "upsets" you maybe, no need to go into detail, this also means that the high cream content of the dessert makes it a no go too. Or just politely…
  • I had a friend who was a fashion photographer and she said that models are often a seething mass of low self esteem due to having been tall gawky children who never felt dainty or pretty. Not sure about supermodels, I think that the huge salaries probably make them feel better about themselves!
  • Yoghurt just gets more yoghurty and acidic as it matures. It'll be fine.
  • That would be the Y chromosome at work, typical blokes!
  • ^^ This is really good advice. Don't talk about diet and exercise with friends and co workers, if you decide to eat the treats then don't log the calories in front of them, by now you should be able to have a pretty good guess ( although the 240 calories chocolate cookies someone at work brought in caught me out!!). Eat…
  • Do you talk about diet and exercise at work? I think if people know that you're trying to lose weight they are far more likely to comment on your weight loss. Someone at work joined WW last year and all we heard about was how many points there are in this or that, I'd like to eat this or that but I'm on a diet...... You…
  • I think I just have to accept I have a perception problem. When I was slim I always thought I was fat, I spent about ten years on some diet or other trying to lose another 7lb when I only weighed 125lb. Then, when I started to put on weight about 15 years ago I didn't notice.......how could I not notice? I got to about…
  • Please don't be hard on yourself! :flowerforyou: I had two babies but no C-section, I breast fed both of them, one for 6 months the other for 12 months. All the time I was breast feeding I was starving! I lost weight during both my pregnancies, then put it back on while nursing. This is not the time to be exercising hard,…
  • I find that when I'm congested my nose and throat clear when I'm exercising! When I stop I get all stuffed up again...... But I can't keep running for ever! I think you just have to do what feels right, if exercising exhausts you then you should stop, if not then go for it! Listen to your body :-)
  • LOL, my Granny used to say that! I too have a nasty sneezy, snuffly, sore throat and cough kind of cold. I decided to eat lots of protein and fruit and veg today. We've just got to tough it out guys, just a few days and we'll be fine!
  • Nooooo! Ditch the Herbalife! It's not re-educating you about healthy choices, portion size and exercise and really can't be a long term solution, this is a life long journey not a "diet" or a "programme". Spend your hard-earned cash on a gym membership or new running shoes or steak or anything other than…
  • Maybe the tea makes your body think it's going to be fed, releasing insulin which then crashes your blood sugar? I've read that this can happen with diet drinks that taste sweet but are sugar free? The fact that tea with milk and sugar doesn't do the same could support this. Maybe caffeine? Do you have the same problem…
  • That's a lot of milk in your cornflakes, close to 3/4 pint. If I were you I'd cut the portion size of the cornflakes down by 5g a week until you get to about 40g and cut back the amount of milk - once you've eaten the cereal is there still a big puddle of milk (that you drink out of the bowl:smile: ) If so, measure the…
  • I get a "50% off raspberry ketones" ad at the top of the page on the web version of MFP, don't think it's appropriate really. Some people might think that it's endorsed by the site. On the other hand, if there was a site selling Fat Dissolving Magic Fairy Dust I'd be there in a shot, everyone says that works really…
