Maybe this is why no one has commented that I've lost weight, once I come out in new slim clothes everyone will be blown away!

I don't think there's anything wrong with a banana!

I'm trying really hard not to spend too much on clothes until I get to target, I was a UK size 18, am currently a UK 14 and I'm not stopping until I get to 12! I bought some cheap size 14 trousers for work back in the summer but these are getting big and most of my other clothes are a 16. When I get to target it'll be a…

I usually eat back 50 -75% of my calories burned. I assume that the machines at the gym are a little generous and on non-gym days I rely on the figures from my Fitbit. I set my deficit to 500 calories in June, to lose a pound a week, and that's what I've lost. Working well for me.

Oh dear, deactivated.

I think there's a difference between binging and over-eating stuff you like. I think binging can be on anything and usually has an emotional trigger, you just open the fridge or the cupboard and start eating. (My friend once ate the sage and onion stuffing that she'd just made for the turkey when her boyfriend dumped her…

Yay!! Congratulations!:drinker:

I haven't been out of control since I started logging on here but I think I'm a bit odd because I'll either binge on cheese (with bread or crackers) and I can eat a lot of cheese, or ice cream (yep, another Ben and Jerry addict here) or chocolate. They are quite different flavours/textures but they are the three foods that…

************** clothes shopping ******************** I can't wait

Walking is good, make sure you wear suitable shoes and walk at a good brisk pace, enough to get your heart working. If you're carrying books it'd probably better to put them in a backpack to balance the weight. Once you've been doing walking for a while drop in a couple of minutes jogging then back to walking. Use the…

Try not to think of this as a "diet", this is a permanent change in your lifestyle. You can eat anything you want, nothing is forbidden, just put your figures into MFP, set to losing a pound a week, weigh your food - don't use measuring cups to measure dry food, and log every day. I agree with Luckydays27, I found a Fitbit…

Yay! I so understand this, my jeans and work trousers/skirts are held up with a belt because I don't want to buy anything that's not a 12 (which I think I should reach next Feb), t shirts and sweaters are OK but I could jump out of my jeans. Congratulations! I'm looking forward to a similar shopping trip next year :drinker:

If you had a friend who put on weight would you hate them for it? Be kinder to yourself, you just have to let it go, it's in the past and you can't change it. What you CAN change is now and tomorrow, concentrate on the future, look forward to your goal weight and forgive yourself! :flowerforyou:

I think that most of us have gone down the very low calorie route at some point, that's how we find out it's not a good idea. Do you exercise at all? If you exercise and eat back your calories it gives you more scope for eating the sorts of things that seem to be making you nervous, you will be far less likely to worry…

There's nothing wrong with pizza. Pizza is really just a very tasty open cheese and tomato sandwich! I have pizza a couple of times a month, when we have "movie night" in front of the TV at home. I just make sure I have enough calories left to indulge and I usually have a cardio session beforehand to make sure:wink:

34:41 today, getting faster!

You should really take everyone else's attitude a a compliment! You look good, they can't see why you need more weight loss goals. On the plus side, no one is going to say to you "Should you be eating that?" Yay! You have done really well and you've maintained. But you want to go further, this is fab but it's really your…

My weight this morning is 156lb So that's 5lb so far, 5 more to go by Christmas.

The problem I have, and I'm very nervous about this, is that I was a normal weight until I was, hmm, late 30s. I then gained weight, very slowly, and didn't notice.......... didn't notice?? I've managed to lose 10 -20lb a couple of times but as soon as I stop "dieting" the weight creeps back on. It seems as soon as I stop…

Impatience. I hate waiting for stuff to happen,

Your VO2MAX is calculated to be 43 and your estimated "fitness age" is 24. Either of those sounds good to me

I think so, but maybe by the time I get to target I won't need to? I've lost weight and then put it back on before, I really don't want to do that again so maybe weighing, measuring and counting for ever is the better option.

35:31 today! Like The Flash, but fatter and older!

Sweet potatoes are an excellent filling vegetable, honey, oil and salt.......hmm not so saintly. However, if you've logged them and they fit into your day then go for it! Pizza and Ben and Jerry's ice cream can never be considered "healthy" food but I make sure I fit some in every couple of weeks. No such thing as…

I bought a pair of very nice (UK) size 12 jeans because they were less than half price. I'm one size away, I can just about get them on and zipped up, but you can almost hear the fabric creaking with the stress:laugh: I think that about 5lb will make them wearable, 10lb will make them comfortable and I can't wait!

I don't talk about diets and weight loss at home or at work. My husband knows I'm trying to lose weight and is very impressed by my weight loss graph but he's never been overweight in his life. He tries to be encouraging but it tends to come off as irritating, a constant "should you be eating that?" without understanding…

That's so unfair! You stuck with apple products too, maybe you should have gone with raspberry ketones, they're apparently very good.

Ha ha! That's what I was going to say!

I did C25K in the summer and am now running 5K every other day, if I can do it, anyone can! My advice is to keep it slow, I found that I was trying to go too fast and then couldn't breathe  A friend at the gym said that when I was running I shouldn't need to breathe through my mouth, no panting at all. I ran my…

I just looked this up, having never heard of Prism diet. It's low carb, not zero carb, a blend of Atkins and Sugar busters with added Christian spirituality. In fact, it lets you eat fruit which wasn't allowed on Atkins as I recollect. Not my sort of diet at all, I'm afraid. I'm sure if you followed it you'd lose weight…
