  • I've lost 51lbs and dropped from a uk 22 / 20 to a uk 16 / 14. That's from beginning of the year.
  • I finished C25K at end of May and ran a 10k a few weeks ago. Training for another in September and using a 10k improver plan. I loved my C25K plan (I used the 5K runner app) but couldn't get into the 10k one at all as I also didn't like going back to intervals once I was able to run for about 40 mins non stop (I am super…
  • Ah, just checked my diary from yesterday and my run has been duplicated. i had already entered it into MFP manually so the other entry must have come over from garmin connect. My calorie / food info is all correct now too. Happy happy :D
  • Just checked my calorie info on garmin connect. My daily target is correct and it's added my exercise cals on (even though they aren't on MFP) but the calories consumed figure is way out. Only showing 238 consumed for the day when it should be closer to 2000. Clearly major issues with the syncing still, hope it gets…
  • Anyone had any luck with this yet? I've managed to get my MFP and garmin connect accounts linked but it only seems to send food information from MFP to garmin but doesn't send exercise info from garmin connect to MFP? I did a run today, uploaded to Garmin and expected to see it feed through to MFP automatically in a…
  • I read something a while ago which has helped me - the urge to binge is like a wave, it will get bigger and stronger until it reaches a peak but then it will go away. Although it can be hard to believe at the time, it is true. Now whenever I get an the urge to binge, I say to myself, not today but I will tomorrow if I feel…
  • What do you have your weekly weight loss goal set to at the moment? Can you go into the calculator and reduce this, say from 2lbs per week to 1 lb or 0.5 lb per week. Then it will tell you your new calorie goal. I think what you are planning is a good idea. Years ago when I did WW, our leader always advised to eat at…
  • I really want a toasted bagel with cream cheese and bacon now....
  • A bagel store?! Living in Northern Ireland, this is something I've never seen or heard of. Here, we only have bagels in packaging :(
  • Check the nutritional info on the bag of bagels that you intend to use. That will give you the calorie content. If a bagel with cream cheese fits into your daily goal then by all means eat one per day. But would you not rather have some variety in your food? That said, I've eaten the same thing for lunch for a while now…
  • I have a flex and so far it has been accurate in measuring my steps when I am out with the buggy. And I just keep it on my wrist.

  • Hi I'm from Northern Ireland too, mum of 3 year old and stepmum to 12 year old. I've added you. I've an open diary for friends and log every day :)
  • Glad to hear you are recovered, running again and feeling good. I am a novice runner, recently did my first 10k and am signed up for another in September.
  • Saw this post a while ago but could never find it in the Tesco near my work. Randomly found it today which is lucky as I've sickened myself on pitta with veg and humous. Lovely lovely stuff, will be adding it to my lunchtime list.
  • I cant do the in through the nose, out through the mouth thing either. I breathe the way I breathe, it works for me so I'm happy enough. I think as long as it is controlled and its not affecting your running then don't worry too much about it.
  • I've no experience of them myself but I've read a couple of articles which say they make no difference and are a waste of money. I'm sure though there are others on here with personal experience.
  • another vote here for toast with peanut butter and a banana
  • Your results are great but honestly it doesn't matter if you don't reach the 5K at the end of your programme. I didn't, it took me 38 mins to run my first 5k (and the programme I did gave you 35 mins to do it while I know a lot of them are 30 mins). I only recently got under 35 mins for a 5k but I have increased my mileage…
  • 200 grams here. Not overly large but enough that I don't want to cry (I love potatoes).
  • You are a runner already! I read on here the other day that running is actually the gait you use, not the speed you go. For what its worth, I run anywhere between an 11 and 13 minute mile.
  • This ^^
  • I started running this year and had all the same concerns: What to wear - leggings / trackie bottoms and a t shirt. Any trainers will do to begin with. You can buy the fancy stuff later if you stick with it. Also recommend a good sports bra! Keys / phone - I see you're in London, do you have a Sports Direct near you? They…

  • I lost about 25lbs with just diet and walking. I started c25k when I was about 197 lbs.
  • Getting one of these for my birthday on Saturday :D
  • I weigh myself every day but only log once a week. I find it interesting to see what certain foods or exercises do to my weight, eg I had a chinese takeaway on Monday night and was up 2.5 lbs on Tuesday morning but was down again this morning. However if you are in any way obsessive about the scale and what it says then I…
  • Lol. I would love this. I do a ponytail and a cheapie kids fabric hairband which seems to work.
  • I think you need to see a medical professional. Please go talk to your doctor.
  • All great advice! I started running for weight loss as there is only so much walking you can do to get a decent calorie burn. I also did c25k and while I don't think it made much difference in at first, once I was running a decent distance time it definitely helped with the pounds coming off. Even better, now I run because…
  • Thanks for all the great advice! That last link is very informative and makes a lot of sense. Hubby has talked me into a 10k which is 4 weeks tomorrow (I was gonna do a 5k) so I've found a Hal Higdon plan and am going to follow the last 4 weeks of it. It actually fits in really well with where I am at the minute.
  • This morning I had to make a new hole on my belt to keep my jeans up :D
