This. And it always makes me happy when the no-beard makes an appearance ;)

too lazy to look it up on the internet, but has time and inclination to post here? It takes about the same amount of time to check yourself. And honestly, calling your drs office is always the right way to go. They will let you know whether or not they want you to come in, they know your kids best, etc. Any number you get…

Girls With Slingshots webcomic slot. As a fellow English major, I adore Hazel ;) And Jamie is just awesome.

WTG! Nice job :)

I do yoga 3-4 days a week now, but I started at less. I was 291 pounds when I started and really weak, but fairly flexible. However, there were lots of moves I couldn't do, simply because of my bulk or my strength level. One thing I would suggest -- don't judge yourself against others. Unless you have a prat in the class,…

Awesome story, awesome success! Thanks for sharing!

So she should lie to keep his ego in check? You rack your weights. No need to say you can or cannot lift it. I can unrack someone else's 45 pound weights, but I shouldn't have to. I think trying to make it all "I'm just a weak girl and your'e a strong man" makes this even more wrong.

I just do 2 separate recipes - I keep my roux/gravy separate.

Just FYI, a lot of guys are visual and like to look at a variety of body types -- so looking at thinner women doesn't mean he's attracted in a way that means he'll cheat on you because your body doesn't match that. It means he's looking at something different. I think we get way to hung up on what sort of visual…

Don't stop! I started slower than you, and that may be something you need to talk to your doctor about. I started at 291 pounds and hadn't been very active, but despite being morbidly obese, I didn't have any major health concerns. I made my starting goal 3x/week, 20 minutes a day, and all I did was the treadmill on about…

God, I love Coupling. LOL. Oh Jane....

Yep, Amazon Prime. Free 2-day shipping, great access to free movies/tv, etc. Even when I didn't have it, I didn't have issues with amazon shipping, except very very rarely.

Nutella on graham crackers....YUM. I made a basque cake once where I layered homemade vanilla creme anglaise with nutella as the filling. It was...transcendent.

I haven't done spinning in awhile, but when I did, there were a couple hardcore people who did it all the time and brought in their own seat covers to help. And there were always the instructors who you knew didn't believe in using the seat much -- those were the hours when I longed for my butt being sore from the seat…

Jim Gaffigan ruined Hot Pockets for me. LOL.

Too new to this I guess, didn't even realize dropping it was an option. That must be why the guy the other day was making so gd much noise, he was dropping from the top. I don't, obviously...I go up, control it back down, and it thumps as it hits and I go back up. Trainer set me up that way, all the videos I watched had…

And that's the POINT....you won't look like a she-hulk by lifting. It takes some significant effort beyond just lifting weights to get that bodybuilder physique and you have to actively pursue it. So you may want to re-evaluate adding in a strength training program, because it won't make you a she-hulk. It really, really…

Don't want to: okay, sure. But if you're lifting 2.5 pounds 100 times, you're not actually doing anything. If you're doing something else and it works for you, fine. Whatever. But at least be educated and not waste time. Don't want to build visible muscle: Er, okay. If that's your thing. But what do you mean by visible…

http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/560459-stronglifts-5x5-summary Start here. It summarizes the SL 5x5 program super well and has links to his videos. Watch the videos. Over and over if needed. If you have someone who can go with you and do the same thing, you can form check each other. If not, you could try to find a…

What so many others have said...I think it is the persistent myth that low weight, high reps will 'lightly tone' you and that heavier weights will bulk you up. Also, I think there is more of a "workout" feel (aka a cardio burn sort of feel) by doing loads of reps, just like doing loads of minutes on a treadmill for people…

10 years in a competitive swim league growing up - it was a fantastic workout! like others said - definitely assume MFP overestimates that calorie burn. I tend to cut everything in half and put myself at a lower level (i.e. if I walked fast, I put it at walking slow, and I cut the calories way down).

The Bangles, part of a 'rising star' concert series in Spokane, WA in 1986. The opening act was some band no one I knew had heard of called EIEIO (like old mcdonald). They're apparently still around. I didn't like them at the time, but I was 17 and hadn't developed musically, so they may be some quirky awesomeness.

I tip a minimum of 20% unless you're absolutely awful, and then I may drop it down to 15%. I typically go 30%, more for excellent service, especially when in a state that I know you're not making minimum wage. For delivery guys, I do tip because they have gas and insurance and wear and tear that is sort of accounted for,…

NOT TRUE. Fruits and vegetables have calories. Eating excessive calories causes you to gain weight. Full stop. It is HARDER to overeat on fruits and vegetables, because you get more volume for your caloric buck and will get full hopefully before you get to your calorie max, but it's not remotely impossible. There are some…

Yeah, there may be. I find it an interesting theory to look at it, just to see if that's how the body works. Not to use as an excuse not to lose weight (as some sadly may try to do -- not the person I'm quoting, btw, just some in general). I know that if I gained 30 pounds and immediately tried to lose it, it always seemed…
