Yeah, "My Home" isn't really functional. I don't mind as the actual food logging, which is what I use it for, seems to work fine. Really hope they're not migrating towards a "pay-to-play" model...

I only associate one type of seafood with summer. We'd go to the seaside in the summer and they had fried anchovies everywhere. Never saw them anywhere else and never went there except in summer, so they taste like summer (and vacation) to me B)

I mostly do cheap brandy + diet mixers, been getting into spiced rum as well. It's the lowest calorie options out there as it's pretty much just alcohol. Don't buy vodka anymore, mistakes have been made, but that's just me.

I've found that the solution is swearing at the computer. ETA: as well as at MFP, and the mothers of all those involved.
-
Definitely not and no, respectively. I like my sweets sweet and my savories savory ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
-
You say that like it's a bad thing. Breaded and fried brain is <3

Going back to unpopular opinions, sweet + salty weirds me out. I guess I like cheesecake, but that's the only exception...

Meh, the only thing I've noticed is that starches bloat me up. I'm not denying your experience, but I suspect it might have more to do with you putting more effort and care into your diet and physical activity when making more sacrifices for it. Human beings tend to function like this. As far as alcohol goes, the problem…

A cup is ≈240 ml. Not exactly, but close enough. Incidentally, if this is for a recipe, it's always been a pet peeve of mine when they use volume for things which can easily and accurately be weighed.

Re-watched (for the Nth time) Pan/Faun's Labyrinth. One day, I'll be a big boy and be able to watch it without crying.
-
Unless you actually mean that you do care...

Coconut milk is delicious, but Idk about coconut-flavoured tomato soup... I still remember that time I accidentally used vanilla almond milk in an omelette.
-
Well... I don't think it's weird, but others do. I eat each dish separately, if there's sauce left over from one I'll mop it up with a little bread before moving on. The only exception is "Chinese" takeaway.

I agree, it has been awhile since we've had a world war >:)

Are meals that turned out "meh" welcome here? I made a "bachelor chow"-type thing with sausages, rice and veggies. The sausages were better than expected but the rice was super bland. Was hoping that cooking it together with everything else would flavour it, but it just tastes like plain rice... It's not bad, and a little…

Nah, it's been all sorts of inconvenient. That being said, I do think some people are overreacting to it. A lot.
-
Well, in theory, I'm writing lecture notes for this week...
-
I like steak, what I don't get is cured/deli meats and sausages made from beef. That's what God invented pork for...
-
Fried with a lid on, so the whites cook all the way through but the yolks are still runny. Incidentally, what they call a "frittata" is what I would call an omelette. I've had the folded style before and don't much care for it.

I was born and grew up in Bucharest. The only one I know for sure is Joffre cake. People often say mici were invented in Bucharest but there are similar dishes all over southeast Europe, so...

All bars/libraries/restaurants/cinemas/etc are closed, so... staying home and fighting the boredom. We've moved all the teaching to online, which basically means instead of giving lectures I'm writing lecture notes and everything else remains roughly the same (assuming we're back in school before finals). This semester…

Came out 10 years ago but only now got around to watch it. Enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. Compared to other french horror movies that came out around that time, they went easier on the gore and played more on tension and atmosphere.
-
Eh, I'll play. My grandma used to bake a lot (and very well) so I could post a lot of things, but my favourite was sour cherry cake:
-
Meh... I think it's tasty, tbh. Well... that depends on your location (and definition of "juice")...
-
About me? Not sure how fun of a fact it is, but I've never owned a car and hope to never have to.
-
Meh, for lunch I keep it simple: cheese and/or cold cuts in a bread roll or pita, and a fruit. It's the intersection of "reasonably cheap", "reasonably nutritious" and "convenient".
-
Nowhere near as elaborate as the rest of you - and I wouldn't even try to take a picture with my potato phone - but I made a big batch of orzo pilaf with ground pork and leeks. Moderately proud though because it hasn't turned into a compact block of solidified starch the way my orzo usually does the next day...

I had the week off and I've been "treating myself" for the past three days, so... today I've been treating my hangover instead. I'm thinking a teapot of linden & mint tisane and in bed by 9pm.
-
Yup. Not vegetarian but hard "no" from me as well, btw.

I'm curious to see if you know what this is, IME people either really love it or really hate it:
