And here's the road map:

I do C-town. They're numerous and, as far as I can tell, the cheapest around. I buy fruits and veggies from a greengrocer though (when I do). Don't know about other ones but my C-town is... sub-optimal for that.

Live in the US now, but it's the third country I live in... Born and raised in Romania. On some level, it'll always be home. If we're doing the "back to X generations" thing, my family name suggests my dad's family came from Greece at some point and my mom's family name suggests her family was Jewish at some point.

Um... vomitoriums were cleverly placed passageways that allowed Roman amphitheatres to be filled and/or evacuated very quickly without cutting into seating space (too much). Had nothing to do with gluttony and, as an architectural feature, are by and large still in use today. Sorry, pet peeve. Carry on.

Wal-Mart employees should be poor. That way, when they catch you shoplifting, you can bribe them to let you go with less money than the article you stole was worth. The system just wouldn't work if you had to spend more on bribes than you saved by stealing...

My attention span petered out around page 2 or so, so I'm sorry if this has already been said, but bitching is fun as fuk! ETA: Also, no one "deserves" to be in shape, they either are or aren't (I'd generalize this to "no one deserves anything", but this is not the time or place for philosophy).

I'm usually very sympathetic to human weakness, and really don't go for the drill seargent approach at all. But once is not a habit. Did you seriously just agree that taking speed to lose weight is worse for you than being fat... and then stated you plan on doing it long-term anyway? Dude, get it together. And, btw, while…

I'm pretty sure that obesity, within reasonable limits, is less dangerous than long term use of appetite suppressants. If you genuinely feel you can't beat it... embrace and enjoy it. This dude's living it up: ETA: I'm not reading 475 posts. Cliffs? Can you eat a burger?
-
I could eat salted meats with bread (real bread, salty with a crispy crust) 24/7/365.
-
I have no strong opinion on burgers one way or the other, except to say that I don't find them very filling but ymmv ETA : and that I find burgers with tree fiddy patties in them ridiculous, however: You heard wrong. My experience has been that, counting how much I cheat (it's a lot), my maintenance is ~2200 and I lose at…

Know dem feels. I've done the whole "weigh out a small portion and fit in into your day" schtick and it was horrible, 12 Doritos is just not the same as a bag of Doritos. 2/10 will not do again. There's more than one way to skin a cat, or in this case practice moderation. You could moderate how often you eat things and…

I don't know much about plateaus, but I take breaks on a very strict "whenever I feel like it, and every time I visit my parents" basis. Some only a few days long, some a few months long. You're not going anywhere, mfp isn't going anywhere and my fat didn't go anywhere. Still lost weight just fine. Maybe slower than I…

I don't know if I'll count until then, but I'll stop worrying about my weight around the age of 60 so I'll definitely stop counting then. I'd like to die 65-75, and I want to enjoy myself for my last few years on earth... as well as give at least one of my pall-bearers a hernia. They'll be friends of mine and will…

Personally, I find it easier to control my appetite when it's warm than when it's cold... and I doubt the tiny difference in calorie expenditure is worth it. \thread

Google says 7,646 kms. There's an ocean and most of a continent between the two. I do miss the old dump every now and again.
-
I think you need more help than an online forum or calorie tracker can provide. You could open your diary if you want opinions on your diet, though.
-
I've been trying to think of a balanced diet using nothing but white food. So far I've got rice for carbs, fish for protein, cauliflower and parsnip for fiber+vitamins, milk and white beans for supplementation. Kind of stuck on fats though... non-coloured margarine? You guys should just bang already.
-
I'd like an extra 10 cms. In height, of course. Among other things.
-
I'm not dieting, been maintaining and fine tuning for over a year now... That being said, even if a high bmi wasn't unhealthy, it would still keep me from getting laid... so yeah, I would still watch my weight.

Assuming kashkawan is like the cheese I know as cascaval (the s is a sh), that would be the closest one. The taste is very different (cascaval is a bit like a stronger tasting cheddar) but it melts nicely and becomes stretchy but firmer than mozzarella. Mozzarella would be an okay choice too.

It was a joke. Not one of my best ones, I take it. There's a 50-50 chance of that with everything I write.

Is it necessary to throw away food that is spoiled? Chewy milk might taste a little sour and make my stomach grumble, but I paid good money for it dagnabit! And, for the record, indeed throwing out one piece of cheesecake once will neither cause severe famine in Africa nor be grounds to diagnose an eating disorder. The…

I drink black tea around the clock and in the evening I make a pot of tea with one bag of chamomile and one of tilleul. It's very relaxing... but it won't make you lose weight.

I agree that willpower is necessary to set up a new habit, I said so from the start. However, saying willpower is the key to weight management just isn't true. It's more of a tool that you have to use sometimes, but if I had to rely on it exclusively (or prioritarily) I'd say "fuk it, I'll just be fat". Incidentally, I'd…

Short chicks with wide hips and round faces. Hey, you asked...
-
I'm not touching the addiction debate anymore with a 30-foot pole. I have to say, the "willpower is like a muscle" thing... I disagree. My experience has been that what willpower does, and the only thing it does, is allow me to gain new habits. Once I get into a specific routine - be it food-related, work-related or…

Ice cream is for babies. You, I like. And Doritos. ETA : Alright, I'll give a serious response too. If you have a very hard time moderating ice cream, at first do not keep it in the house. Try substitutions and, if you enjoy them, hey that's great. Once you have a good grip on your calorie intake and are used to eating…

It happens on stovetop too. Soaking... yeah, I could see that working. Takes away from the convenience angle though...
-
I'm thinking magic brownies and cough syrup. Barring that, a bucket of high grade cider and vodka. And Doritos.

Interesting, honestly had no idea. That looks a bit like pho, which is one of my favourite foods. Will have to try / 10 As a side note, I never understood why ramen was supposed to be THE poverty food. In $/calories, bagged rice and beans are much cheaper.
