  • It's funny...I've had NO problem telling people that I had a gastric sleeve done...UNTIL I joined this site. I'm 34 months out and I have worked hard for EVERY pound I've lost, yet, I find myself not announcing that I've had it done on my profile or anything. When asked specifically, I tell the truth, of course, but, I…
  • Lol..I find when I ramble it's cathartic. It is definitely a mental ad physical battle, one that small people don't understand. My husband, God bless him, is 6'1" and maybe weighs 155. It took him a LONG time to come close to understanding my battle. It's been one heck of a journey, just REALLY want these last 60/70 pounds…
  • Thank you! And you are right, I think I need to change things up a bit...I'm trying to figure out how to add more cardio into my workouts. Right now, I do three times a week cardio/strength. But, I think it's not enough cardio....the trick is figuring out how I accomplish this with 4 kids in tow (or just two when school…
  • ROFL! Right??! I had no idea! ...out to buy me some now! ;)
  • Rofl, this entire thread is freakin cracking me up!! Too darn funny. Thx for posting...I have nothing clever to add, I have never worn them. But...this thread makes me wanna try some!!
  • It takes a lot of strength to post what you did...I don't know if I could have done that. I know exactly where you are coming from..at 5'6", I was knocking at 400 pounds at my highest. It's mind bending being not just overweight, but, to hit the super obese category, it's physically and mentally debilitating. Being able to…
  • Rofl...honesty at work!! ....although, without TMI, I can say, it is definitely a worthy goal to work towards. Hubby and I are like newlywed's again. ;)
  • I have been able to completely cut out mayo and sour cream and sometimes salad dressing by using this jalapeño yogurt from Costco. 50 calories for 2 tbsp-way less fat and it is SO yummy!
  • You are so not alone! Last year our business tanked and we lost everything. My husband and I and our 4 kids had nowhere to go...my in-laws have taken us in and have been so unbelievably patient with our chaos! Don't let *kitten* like vmclach invade your mind...it's obvious from their attitude and their profile…
  • I completely agree! I would lose and then plateau quite often, still do to this day. Your body's hormones have to catch up, and, the fat cells in our bodies are going to do everything they can to HOLD ON!! Only thing I can add is, change up your diet, check your sodium intake maybe. Adding exercise to my routine has really…
  • *blush* thank you... You're absolutely right! I have to make it a priority again!! You all ROCK!! :D
  • You're so right!! And thank you...as difficult as it is for me to see the finish line, I forget how far my journey has been.
  • Olympia, Wa...about 45 min south of Seattle.
  • ...and it's cheaper. Hehe
  • Lol...I was never much for message boards either, but, I have found that I really need the encouragement and support system the MFP provides! It's like a Facebook for people wanting to get healthy!! You don't have to do this alone!! You CAN do this. :)
  • You are all 100% AWESOME! Thanks for the boost of encouragement!! After my workout today my trainer and I went over my measurements and fat %'s...they were ALL down. ...I think I really...really...REALLY just need to see the scale hit below 200. It's been SO long since I've seen the 100's. But, you are all right, it sounds…
  • YES!! YES!! YES!! Amen to that!!

  • First off, congrats on taking the first steps. It's a harsh reality...numbers don't lie and, as we all know, the scale is not as forgiving as we would like it to be. When I started, I was 370. It was mind crushing. It was all I could do not to curl up in a ball and give up. What worked for me, was that I couldn't look at…

  • Yay for you and your renewed commitment!! Support is soooo important! Request coming your way! :)
  • Thanks, and you're right...there's always been, and will always be, "something's" going on in life. I have got to figure out how to work with them rather than letting all those 'things' get in the way of my goals. ..just pouting I guess. I want it faster than its coming... Perhaps I too, need to re evaluate what on doing…
  • Grrr!! Right??!! One day, I'm down 4/5 pounds from the last week...then, the next...up those same pounds!! I feel like I am stuck on a broken record....I taste the success, I'm SO close to being below 200...yet, so far away! :(
  • I know EXACTLY what you are feeling. After nursing 4 children and losing so much weight....I am paying the price for being that heavy for so long. I have to keep telling myself, DON'T LET THIS DEFEAT YOU!! Being slim and sexy is for sure, a natural want for anyone...being healthy, is PRICELESS!! I think you look fantastic,…
  • Lol, THANK YOU for asking that!! I was wondering the same thing! ;)

  • I agree, I get so stuck in what I eat all the time, it's nice to see other ideas! Feel free to add me, mines open! :)
  • Hi there! Congrats on setting a goal and making your first steps! Don't let yourself get discouraged by numbers! You CAN do this! :) Feel free to add me, support is always better!!
  • Lol, hi there! Welcome to MFP! We have a few things in common...I too, am 5'6", and I too...am awesome! ;) I'm always looking for people to help keep me motivated and to help motivate, and to laugh along the way. Congrats on your start here, feel free to add me!
  • QUOTE: "but, I don't have to exercise around a bunch of people that are only there to feed their egos. " ....my comment wasn't that ALL people who go to gyms are just feeding their ego. But, in the small town I live in, when you're 370 pounds and just want to be treated like a human instead of a disgusting waste of good…
  • I work out at a private gym. Which means I have the benefit of being accountable to a personal trainer...but, I don't have to exercise around a bunch of people I don't know or that are only there to feed their egos.
  • Well done!! Your dedication and hard work have paid off! You look great. :)
