Wow - that's not very much food for an active person. I know it sounds counter-productive, but perhaps you should eat more. You'll have to tweak your daily cals until you hit your fat loss zone Check out http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/ And these folks have good info http://www.zoeharcombe.com/ and…

I have some suggestions for you, because I can't afford a gym either . I'm doing smarter science of slim exercises - 1 session of 10 minutes a week. I use 2x 3L milk bottles filled with water for my weights for resistance training, I tie both bottles together. use one arm only to lower them very slowly (hurts a tonne!). -…

Hi! Great idea. Can I please join? I've got about 85 pounds to lose (38.5kg). Username = suprzonic

I agree with this. Especially because "I feel like we are eating the exact same meals maybe I'm even eating less than her and she doesn't workout like crazy like I do. " - your metabolism could be adjusted to too few cals and too much exercise as being NORMAL mode - not fat loss mode? Feeling your pain - hope it all…

I'm feeling your frustration! perhaps you could look into a metabolism reset/check? If you can handle not dieting for a little while, it could help you out in the long term. Try to find your maintenance level (tweaking TDEE cals til you hit your real maintenance levels) and keep the same weight for a few weeks. then drop…

Its a no from me. I toyed with the idea - but I got confuddled with conflicting research and left it alone "Karl Landsteiner described the original blood types--A, B and O--in 1900 and doctors now recognize 23 blood group systems with hundreds of different "types.""

Thank you all for solid advice - been ketogenic almost 3 months now. 2nd sleep test results are in - "no sleep disorder events recorded"! I blame Keto + sleeping on my side + only breathing through my nose in sleep + nominal weight loss Sticking with keto for sure

This site May interest you. http://thesmarterscienceofslim.com/ It advocates eating more (and healthy - no.special foods/shakes/powders) and.exercising less (but more effectively) If you Google zoey harcombe you'll find some interesting topics on eating more healthy foods.too

This mfp topic might help - TOPIC: For ladies who EAT (a lot) and are actually losing weight You could search that entire topic name to.find it I had been eating too few calories for years thinking I was doing the right thing to lose weight. Weight always came back.I really screwed up my metabolism. It took a leap of faith…

I very reluctantly put my cals up to my TDEE (2500!) a couple of days ago, and have been worried about it. not anymore! Thank you very much for this post!

Yes I do realise that. I'm not quoting "random" studies. I've researched keto dieting for my own benefit for the last 3 weeks, and have been ketogenic for most of that time. You're being a little too presumptuous. It's working for me - for now! So I'll leave it at that

I'm eating about 65% to 80% fat per day on a ketogenic diet - lost around 7kg 3 in weeks. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2716748/ and see http://josepharcita.blogspot.com.au/2011/03/guide-to-ketosis.html#11BB

For some people - that's true. But my endocronoligst has said that OSA has caused my obesity!

Oh? you didn't see my post of 11.39 today? I quoted "stuff" And the shot was fired at a badly drafted article. I really didn't like that article. I'm sure you're lovely. So there :P

Hi, I hadn’t looked at fat loss from the angle of meal timing – I stumbled on these little beauties though: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2345564/Shocking-list-US-foods-BANNED-countries-containing-dangerous-chemicals.html http://www.livescience.com/38962-industrial-chemicals-in-food-not-safety-tested.html…

Both those studies don't address the OP's statements. The first is inconclusive and self admits further study is required. The 2nd ?? Where do i start! First off - mice aren't people. And the mice weren't fed synthetic crap - they had a shorter feeding window and were fed high fat without carbs (ketogenic mice intermittent…

I think you are 100% correct - but it might take 20 years for this way of thinking to be commercially acceptable on a large scale. Lots of people who lose weight with the "a calorie is a calorie" mentality (including me until recently!) put the weight back on - plus some. It's a no brainer that multi-billion dollar…

I like to soak oats in organic coconut water overnight. They're yum just like that. Sometime I put in sunflower seeds, frozen raspberries and a dollop of natural yoghurt. By the time I've made a coffee the frozen raspberries are thawed out  . A cup of coconut water to half a cup of oats

Hi - I'm very new too - I'm in week 2 But i'm logging daily. I'm not exercising. And I'm only eating between 7am and 2pm daily (I'F'ing). So my diary may not be your "cup of tea"? See what you reckon :)

Um - yeah! I do :) dark chocolate. And blue vein cheese ... :P~

This is the best place to be for support and information. You'll do just great To your question.... carbs .... Maybe try higher protein and higher fat to start with? Like 35% protein, 30% carbs and 35% fat. You can change your goals in MFP to be whatever percentage you want (customize) Start at 2000 kcal / day but eat as…

From http://www.zoeharcombe.com/the-knowledge/we-have-got-cholesterol-completely-wrong/ “Cholesterol in food has no impact on cholesterol in the blood and we’ve known that all along.” AND (same article - I won't post the whole thing in ...) "iii) There is no such thing as good cholesterol and bad cholesterol. Cholesterol…

Hi - I'm by no means an expert. I only started eating ketogenic last thursday. But from what I've read and folk i've spoken to - stop exercising. and put the ketostix away. Exercise and keto have a different relationship to traditional diet/exercise. You have to be very moderate (apparently) I've read that if your ketostix…

Hi - I started a ketogenic diet last thursday. My diet is public if you want to check out what I'm doing. I'm going to stick at eating 65% fat, 30% protein and 5% carbs until 30/9/13. It's early days yet - and my body could be in a honeymoon period - but i'm losing about 1pound a day - and not doing any exercise. I'll be…

this is good. Plus - hubby could be having other medical problems. I lost complete motivation for about 10 months. 3 years before that, i always struggled with being tired and weight loss stall. I recently found out that I have sleep apnoea. Basically - an apnoea is when you stop breathing in your sleep, but don't know it…

28? not sure if you were referring to me ... 28? I'm 41!

Hi - i'm new to keto. I started last Thursday. It took me a couple of days to be in ketosis. I've lost 1kg in 2 days (2 pounds?) My diary is public if you want to check it out. I also started IF yesterday - doing 17 hr fast every day (from 2pm to 7am). I'm not exercising at all

Coincidently… I stumbled on this at about 10am today: “ ..... Robin Landis, author of "Body Fueling," compares fat and muscles to feathers and gold. One pound of fat is like a big fluffy, lumpy bunch of feathers, and one pound of muscle is small and valuable like a piece of gold. Obviously, you want to lose the dumpy,…
