Foot placement, hand placement, do you tuck your lats into your pockets or not. Body type can factor in to. Where as bench, there is more of a baseline.

Are the all safe? Generally speaking yes. Some companies will spike their protein loads with amino acids, but they are still safe. For me, they constitute one or two my 5-6 meals a day.

One of the problems with it being hard to master is there are variations in form based on body types, and to an extent goals.

You said substantial weight lose. To me, that would be more than 10lbs in a month. You had one poor meal that would add less than a lb on to you IF it went directly to fat. You'd still be down 9 lbs over all. You're fine. If, however, you mean down a single pound in a week, then has this meal, then you would have issues.…

This. What I believe it steams from, the idea of alkaline diet, is that they found sick people have an acidic ph level. What the proponents want to believe is that the diet caused the illness, not the illness causing the ph to be out.

No it didn't. It was the diet and exercising.

Probably less chance of a staph infection. Also, when I'm into the heavy sets on my core exercises (dead, squat, bench) I take my sweet time between sets. This is where I am able to develop better strength.
