i don't really miss meat -- even when i was an omnivore, i didn't eat a lot of meat -- so i don't regularly use fake meat. however, on occasion i will have a veggie burger or tofurkey, just to mix things up and give me some different flavours.

anyone can add me... i'm vegan, well most of the time. i strive for local, whole foods. i log in every day and love being supportive.

that is super amazing! what a great reward for all your hard work!

I mostly practice Iyengar yoga. I am able to bring my mind into my body more when I am holding a pose and working the different muscle pairs to get the proper alignment. I also like how props can be used to modify poses, so I can still benefit from a pose even if I haven't attained the power or flexibility yet to get into…

first, i want to achieve my goal this time. before, i'd meet a mini-goal, then take a break for a while, only to backslide. after i achieve my goal, i am going to set new goals: run a 10K, perhaps, or run a faster 5K, or do more volunteer work, or start playing tennis again. probably all of those!

... new swimsuit! and probably other new clothes, because my current ones will be too big.

When I first joined MFP, I logged everything I ate and drank, just to see how many calories I was eating. It helped me realize I was eating way too many calories, and it was a wake-up call for sure. Logging your food keeps you honest. You don't have to open your diary for other people to see. Use it to help you. I don't…

did you suddenly increase your fiber intake? when i did that, my stomach was in knots for a few days. drink a lot of water to help move the fiber through your system.

everyone here has given you good advice. i think you have done an amazing thing by joining MFP and making the choice to start on a journey towards healthier living. it is a choice! and even though you will find it difficult to stick to it sometimes, just remember that it IS a journey, and there may be stumbles along the…

my youngest daughter was about to turn three. i was planning her birthday party, a big affair with a theme, and my mother-in-law was going to come stay with us for at least a week. accompanying her would be her two untrained dogs, a heavy alcohol habit, and the hands-off approach to helping out around the house. i was…

there must be more of us out there. i am vegan (95% of the time), for ethical reasons, and also because when i ate meat i felt bloated and dull. i sent you a friend request.

Today I will stay on track because... yesterday I didn't.
-
just sent a friend request. i am here every day.

i run, but not a lot --about 10-13 miles a week. i am following the garmin intermediate 5k training plan, and signed up for a 5k in may. add me if you like.

my heart rate is high; i will peak at 189 bpm when running. mine is due to thyroid issues. you should get yours checked. it's a simple blood test.

my favourite is yamamotoyama genmai cha -- nice rich roasted flavour. i also like jasmine green tea -- i picked up a box from trader joe's.

I sent you a friend request... I am 4'10.5" and used C25K last year to train, and ran several 5Ks last year! I am training again for a race in May. C25K is "Couch to 5K." It's a schedule you can use to ease into running a 5K. It's a really great program that takes people like me who haven't run since they were kids, and…

hello, as a fellow hypothyroid, i understand how hard it is to lose and keep it off. i lose some weight, my medication gets adjusted, and then the weight goes right back on. it is a constant battle to get my body adjusted to any change in calories, and it always seems to take about three weeks for any noticeable sustained…

request sent.

my favourite snacks are apples, bananas, tangerines, oranges, etc... easy to grab and go. to add protein, eat with peanut butter or a 1/4C of nuts. carrots, celery, cucumber... cut into sticks and grab a handful for a snack. to add protein, eat with peanut butter or hummus.

feel free to add me. i am here every day.

i am trying to eat whole foods most of the time. my sweet husband wanted to check out the farmer's market with me this evening. we get there, and buy some cauliflower and cilantro, and then he wants to get a baked pretzel. yes, a pretzel isn't so horrible, but i just wanted to get home and cook up my own homemade meal...…

count me in for at least 20 minutes a day of asana, pranayama, or meditation.

it happens. it's only one day. when i have a day in which i consume well over calories, i balance it out throughout the rest of the week. i think you did great! resisting the chocolate pudding! that would be soooo hard for me.

during your jog, don't worry about going fast. you are working on increasing your lung capacity and strengthening your legs. your goal is to go two minutes before you walk to catch your breath and let your heart rate slow back down. shuffle-jog if you have to. just ignore the people passing you while walking. :-) if you…

i'm not a nutrionist or anything, but i love making homemade soups this time of year. throw in immunity boosters including mushrooms, garlic, barley, plus whatever else you like (carrots, potatoes, onions, celery, herbs) and let it simmer for as long as you can. we bought a giant canister of a dried mushroom variety from…

i had radioactive iodine treatment to remove my thyroid and remained stable on synthroid for years. then, after pregnancy and childbirth, i had to get adjustments on my meds every year or so, and in between the pounds would pile on or slowly come off. it's always a battle -- i lose weight and the dosage is now too high --…

I have been on MFP on and off for the past couple of years, and am also in my 40's and petite (4'10"). Add me if you like!

you know you can do this, because you did it before! you worked hard to lose that 30 pounds originally! do your best to stick to your own meal plan. i often prepare myself a different meal from the rest of the family, sometimes preparing multiple servings of soup or quinoa salad on the weekend, which i can then heat up or…
