Kids meal, all the way! I go out to eat with co-workers every Friday, and all teh option in the town where I work are bascailly chains. I've gone online to Chipotle and constructed a few different kid meal options taht work out to under 400 cals, even with the tiny bag of chips! I usually get a taco kit (comes with 2 soft…

YES...sensible! I don't know your height, OP, but 1400 seems very low for a 26 yo who weighs 295. You should be able to have many more cals and still lose weight. Let's be honest...you didn't reach your current weight eating only 2000 cals a day. You just didn't. At this point, any deficit you create will help, but in…

I completely agreee with all the folks telling you not to take on too much at once. However, and I guess I'm just throwing another idea out there for contemplation, maybe you want to start with some exercise. From what you've written it seems your mood could use elevating. I know for myself it helped tremendously when last…

I've also found quite a few "body routines" on Pinterest. They are just pics or posters or something telling you how many sets/reps of different moves to do. Some even have "do these 10 exercise Monday, these 10 Tuesday, etc." I used these interspersed with cardio when I was first starting out at 250 lbs! You will "feel…

Best potato crossover...you can keep your cute kittehs if I can keep Tom!

Thank YOU, OP, for being someone who reached out for help, told the truth about cals consumed, and actually took the good advice given without calling people mean. Seriously...that happens all the time. Too many just want validation for their excuses. You seem to genuinely want help. Good for you, and good luck. If you…

If you're logged on to the full site, there is a tab at the top called "exercise". Go there. If you're on the app, you enter it through your diary under "cadiovascular".

No one here could even give you an educated guess about your cals as we don't know your stats (current weight, height, age, etc). Though I can't imagine many will chime in with a "cut back from 1200" as that is fairly low for probably 98% of people. Best questions for you to start: Are you weighing out all of your portions…

That is so weird! Do you find this mostly at work, or with friends, too? What a neat social case study this could be.

I don't notice any difference in the respect area. But then, at any weight I've always been a pretty confident, self-assured person and I think that is what people respond to with the respect. I know that many, many overweight people are self-conscious or feel bad about themselves and I think others pick up on that vibe.…

Lots of days I use left-overs as my lunch base, but in-laws in town and we went out last night. So, I prepped a "salad" of chopped cucumbers, red peppers, carrots, green onions and a drained can of tuna with Ken's Asian Sesame dressing. It's a huge amount of food for under 400 cals (and 140 of that is dressing cuz I needed…

Had been doing body resistance training, then moved on to weight machines until I felt topped out and ready for a new challenge. Started Strong Lifts about 2 weeks ago. I use the app. Loving it, and it's very easy for a beginner to follow. The app even gives a chime for me in my headphones when my rest is over and time to…

Unless a user is a licensed medical professional, no one here should be giving you advice. That's not meant to be an offense, it's just that with your history, you should not be listening to randos on the internet. You need to work with a doctor and probably a therapist to sort this out. Good luck to you.

Something is off, for sure. I started out at 250 here, I'm also 5'7" and 41. Starting out I put in to lost 1.5 lbs a week and MFP set me to about 1700 cals per day. I can't imagine why on earth it would place you at 1220, but that is TOO LOW. You can manually adjust your cals or redo the auto by ansering the questions…

Here's the straight deal - 11 lbs out of a 99 lb goal is not a huge chunk...YET. It's a GREAT start, so toss the impatience and know you are doing something right. I have lost about 57 lbs total from my last summer's weight, probably somewhere in the 40-45 lbs to go department. Obviously very noticeable now. Remember,…

Breakfast tacos are always a hit in my house and take hardly any time. Scrambled eggs, can add in egg whites to beef up protein and keep fat/cals lower. Add-ins like bacon and sausage to have on hand, everyone assembles their own. This way you can make it fir your macros, and others can make what they want. ETA: I always…

You don't have to log the calories SHE consumes

I'm gonna duck and cover at all the daggers that are sure to come my way, but my most recent waste of calories was a Quest bar. Yuck (tried 4 different flavors). At least I got a bunch of protein from it, but never again. I'd have rather spent that 180/190 on something else.

I'm going to assume that's you in your profile pic. Damn, girl...those abs!! Is that from lifting? Cuz I'd love to someday have half that goin' on. Started SL this morning! Still have much weight to lose, but I'm getting there and love lifting.

You didn't mention counting calories or logging food during the time when you were walking/weight training. This is why you didn't lose weight - you consumed more than you thought. It's why all of us (to get it down to the very basics) gained weight. Log here, be honest with yourself bout every bite you take, weight all…

I must have one sweaty netherregion cuz I have to wear undies and my compression pants and still leave sweat marks (which I ALWAYS, promptly wipe).

Well first of all, you aren't technically overweight. You might have some belly that you don't like the look of, but you aren't overweight. And that stuff you overheard...sounds like some dude broscience junk.

I. Am. Cracking. Up. Both at the original "free-vaging it" comment and your accidental read. Too many laughs. Pains in the side.

Oh, also, about the "nutritionist" telling you to stop eating 4-5 hours before bed. Unless there is a medical or perhaps psychological reason for this (triggers you to binge or something), this is bunk. There has been no true scientific evidence to show that the timing of what you eat plays any role in weight gain or lack…
-
No, no, no...don't think that way! The past has passed, you can't change it. Just listen to the advice here. And for god sake, don't just eat 1200/cals a day! That's just asking for hangry (combo hungry+angry) and a binge. Someone else said give it 4-6 weeks of accurate tracking, good and bad. When I had a brief stall, I…

No, it intimidates YOU...not me. And I'm an overweight woman (granted, a lot less overweight than I used to be:). When I see in-shape ladies at the gym, I think, damn...I want those arms or that booty or whatever. Helps me work harder. In-shape people should not have to choose their work out clothing to help others feel…
-
OH MAH GAWD - I thought the exact same thing!!!!!!! I friggin' knew it was gonna be PF. And btw, I would kill to have that woman's arms and shoulders. This is just stupid. But what I'd love to know is...who the hell is so insecure about themselves that they bothered to stop their own "workout" to go complain about this…

This right here...the "feel" is probably more than you realize. No one thinks you are lying, but perhaps you are fooling even yourself. We can only look at what you have on MFP so far, so take it a day at a time. The training you're doing is fabulous...keep it up. I know it's frustrating to not see that loss. I started…

Just bought four the other day after a thread earlier this week. My kids and I did a taste test of cookies & cream, ch. chip cookie dough, cinnamon roll, and ch. brownie. The cinnamon roll tasted like *kitten*. Ick. I found the brownie to be lacking in chocolate taste, as did both my kids. As my 7 year old son said, "this…
