WHAT are you writing/talking about, dude? I don't do WW. What the heck are "royals & friends"?

dafuq???

Maybe OP got forked and liked it so much she quit MFP?

So, theoretically, you may be consuming as many calories as you burn up just from work outs and work alone?! If you are truly getting a masters in health and nutrition (as your bio page states), then you have to know this is extremely unhealthy. And, I'm gonna call BS on the whole "I don't have time". There is always time…

Um, not sure exactly what you mean by this, but no. If you have gone through the goal set-up on MFP, it is already putting you at a calorie deficit. If, for example, it tells you to eat 1746 cals a day, that has a built in deficit, so you should eat to that amount. In theory, if you exercise you get to eat back some of…

^^ This is a great suggestions. Also, I basically drink tea all day long (mostly iced, but often in cold weather will drink hot, too), so I have purchased lots of tea over the years. Some good online places to try are The Tao of Tea in Portland, OR and Harney & Sons. Both have many varieties available. I happen to be a…

That's it. I'm out. John F. Kennedy, JUUN-YAAA!

Another way to think about it, if this helps, is a weekly calorie average. Maybe you eat just a tad less 4 days a week so that you can have a beer on those 3 nights. It really is a balancing act between what you can realistically achieve every day and what you can live with and not make your life miserable! I promise you…

I've lost 80 lbs consuming an average of about 1750-1800 cals a day. I do work out 5-6 xs a week, some lifting days, some cardio days. I'm 41 and 5'7". I actually haven't adjusted my caloric intake much as I've progressed down. I have, however, progressively upped my work out intensity and added in heavy lifting about 7-8…

I live in the Chicago suburbs and I know some single friends who've met both friends and others through doing things with Events and Adventures. I've heard commercials on the radio, but otherwise don't know much about them, but perhaps it's worth checking out. At least it's another way to potentially meet people outside…

Tee hee - thank you so much!

AGGHHH...I wasn't ready for that. I WASN'T READY!!

OK - that is cool. Thanks!

Also, if you have current irritation, Desitin cream does a really nice job of clearing it up quickly. There's a reason we use it on those little bums for diaper rash!

Since your profile is private, which is perfectly fine :), no one can see what your stats are. Yes, I can now see your diary, but how old, how tall, what weight currently. I'm asking because you are consuming a rather low number of calories according to your diary. That being said, I'm sure in reality you are probably…

OK, I know this is a rude thing for someone to say to you, but I have to admit it really struck me as funny. Keep up the jumping!! :flowerforyou:
-
OP - you asked how realistic is it to just count calories, not starve yourself, and lose 2 lbs a week. Depends on your stats and what you consider "starving" yourself....locked diary so we can't see that part. Absolutely you can lose weight without exercising. BUT, as many others have pointed out, there are so many…

:noway: WHOA, sorry, but no, no, no, no. I call foul on anyone putting mayo into guacamole!! Not demonizing any food, but it just doesn't belong in guac!

OP, I think it will vary greatly depending on the location and manager/owner of that location. I happen to belong to an Anytime near my house and LOVE it. That said, my gym owner is crazy anal about keeping things running and super clean. he also vets every person wanting to join so that we don't have sketchy members…

I'm 42 tomorrow and, because of the past year of logging daily and working out (lift all the weights!), I feel awesome. Funny thing is, it really hit home this summer about how much *better* I felt than when I was 80 lbs heavier. I knew I was fat, but I never thought I was in that bad of shape. Doing some stuff this summer…
-
^^ Yep, me too. I would think all the little extras you're talking about, OP, would drive a person nuts to log. Plus, as many people have already pointed out, how would you possibly know how many calories you really burned on a two-flight walk or five minutes of errands. Count the big stuff only, and if you have a lot of…

Sorry, but wrong if she's only got 12 lbs to lose!

What's the rush? Do you want it to stay off for good, or do you just want it off? Your answer to that question will determine how fast you get it off and if you can maintain.

Possible assistance to you right now: * baby powder * Neosporin to affected area * desitin creamy, not the greasy, to affected area Good luck! And no, you are NOT the only one.

I am going to respectfully disagree here. Sometimes I crave a burger or a steak. I think perhaps it's my body needing iron or some other nutrient I can get from these items. Or, sometimes I just really want item X I am craving. I do not at all find that cravings diminish if I just ignore them. Quite the opposite. However,…

Right now I'm a bit obsessed with Jenny Lewis's new album, Voyager, so I've been listening to the whole thing every lift session for the last month. She friggin' kicks *kitten* (but is legit messed up!). For cardio workouts I just need a fast beat.

Ohmygod, ohmygod, ohmygod....I was about to abandon thread, but glad I didn't, cuz now I know I have to go buy at least two different brands of pumpkin greek yogurt and do an official taste test! Get my kids in on it, too, cuz blind taste tests are taken seriously in my household.

^^ Agreed! "Motivation" is overrated and sometimes just never comes in the form you think it's supposed to come. Instead of being motivated, one day out of the blue I just started doing. And it felt good and I saw results, so I kept doing. Now a year later I'm 75 lbs lighter. Would have seen a year pass anyway, so I'm glad…

You are correct in that you will probably only get "no one is forcing you" responses. That's because it isn't your "friends" responsibility to make your food choices easy for you. It's yours. And only yours. For the rest of your life. YOU. Stop blaming others for your own issues. Many of us here know that's it's hard. I…
