Lot's of ways, but mostly taking care of one's self.

I am not sure I had an ahh-ha moment per say. I just knew it was time to make changes in my life. Also I was surrounded by people who were inspiring me.

Weights build lean muscle and will give you added strength. I think cardio burns more calories in a shorter amount of time. My opinion is to do both. They are both beneficial but in different ways.

This group was recommended by BBee5064. I 59 years old, and have been on MFP for about two years. I have had great success, and formed some wonderful friendships. I watch my diet and exercise 5 to 6 days a week. My favorite exercise is bicycling, with running a very close second. Please feel free to add me as a friend.

I lift weights in the fall & winter, but primarily run & cycle the rest of the year. Weights definitely help with strength and muscle definition. I maintain core and upper body year round by doing at least one strength training session a week. I do more weight and less reps in the fall & winter, and more reps less weight…

I have been on MFP for quite a while, but new to this forum. For October my goal is 300. here is what I've logged so far: 10/2-30 miles 10/4-20 miles 10/7-28 miles 10/11-22 miles I will be doing a century on Saturday.
