  • One thing that helps me a lot is learning my pace. I don't run a ton, but I go through phases, and often it's a lot more difficult right at first until I realize that I'm just trying to go way faster than I should. It'd usually take me a couple of days before I found the right pace so that I could keep going for 15-20…
  • I'm always looking for more friends :flowerforyou: I'm losing weight here for the second time, trying to get more fit this time as well. I'm hoping to lose about 26lbs more to achieve my lowest ever weight of 140lbs. Also, I'm a 21 year old university student.
  • I kind of wish I had this problem... crackers? Fruit? I think that kind of stuff could probably fill your carb gap if that's what you want. On the other hand, I've heard many recommendations to change the ratios to something like 40% carbs, and 30% each fat and protein, which sounds much closer to what you're eating. What…
  • I wouldn't buy into anything that comes in pill form that is supposed to help you lose weight, but it wouldn't hurt to try sprinkling on your food, when appropriate. I've heard for some people the extra flavor helps them to reduce their use of added sugar, like in coffee or oatmeal.
  • I'm 21, I log daily, except for special occasions, like my anniversary with my boyfriend this last weekend. My diary is open, and I have a target of 1840 net cals a day. I generally work out 5 days a week, although I've missed the last couple due to being sick :grumble: I would love to have more friends around my age with…
  • I haven't had the experience of someone telling me this, but I have read it in a couple of magazines in their "fitness" section, which always baffles me. Maybe that's a bit unrelated, but I'm shocked every time I see/hear someone saying that calorie counting is bad.
  • I have the arm implant, and the whole first year of having it was like this for me, starting about a month after getting it. I saw my doctor, she put me on the pill for a month, which helped for that month plus a couple weeks, then it started again. I was almost to the point of having it removed when it started slowing…
  • Ever think you're craving more simply because your body needs more? Looking at your diary, I can imagine I'd be hungry all the time!
  • I keep my kitchen stocked with stuff I can take on the go- fresh fruit, nuts, etc. I've started to keep a planner, so I schedule in my exercise. Time management is key, and taking advantage of any small windows of time to fit homework in leaves me with enough time to workout. It's all about priorities, though. If you want…
  • Brothy soups. Homemade, preferably, canned ones tend to have a lot of added stuff.
  • 5'10", add me! Also, there's a group on the forum for tall ladies, lots of us there
  • My cals are set to 1850 a day before exercise, and I typically burn 300-400 in exercise, which I eat most of but usually not all, just in case. I drink lots of water, and I tend to eat pretty healthy foods, which I weigh with my food scale to make sure I'm getting the serving size right. I just can't figure out what I'm…
  • I'm not one of them, but I know they're here! This isn't only a weight loss program, it's just a way to track what you're eating to whatever end you're going for. Some people lose, some people maintain, and some are here to gain.
  • I'm in pretty much an identical situation, and I just changed my activity level from "lightly active" to "active". That's my suggestion, because it'll factor in that walking to your daily calories, rather than you having to enter it in every time and hoping that it's an accurate calorie burn.
  • Are you asking if it is possible to lose 36lbs in 3 months? I suppose it is possible, but depending on how much you weigh now, it may not be easy/healthy. That's about 3lbs a week, which is doable, though faster than advisable, if you're at a higher weight to begin with and have a lot to lose. If 36lbs is ALL you have to…
  • I'm still on "girl" push ups, but I'm working up to it. I've never been able to do it, but I'm determined to get there. I've known several tall girls who can, so I see no reason I can't.
  • 10 hours? Haha more like 2. Maybe 3.
  • I'm not asking for a diagnosis. Just some advice on whether it would be unsafe to continue. I'm seeing the doctor soon.
  • I have not seen a doctor yet, but I plan to. I eat plenty, usually I have some kind of snack of around 200-300 cals an hour or so before hand, and I used to assume it was dehydration, so I'm very careful now about drinking lots and lots of water. I think it might have something to do with blood pressure, I tend to the low…
  • I don't, can't afford one. It doesn't usually happen with cardio, though, just when I'm doing strength training, although I'm sure there are many here that would not consider what I do to be strength training :blushing:
  • I think it's up to you to decide what will help or hurt your progress. I don't personally keep too many unhealthy things in my kitchen, that way if I do want something unhealthy then I have to go out of my way to get it, making me less likely to do that. Having a lot of healthy options keeps me on track.
  • I'm told it's possible. We will see. I'm going to do this long enough to determine whether that's it, and if it doesn't help I'm going back to regular eating. I figure it's worth a try at least.
  • Don't know if it helps, but I what I do is to never drink at home. I don't keep it around, so I only end up drinking if I go out with friends or my boyfriend, which limits me significantly because it's so much more expensive! Also, I'm an Oregonian- there's so much good beer around here, I can't bring myself to drink the…
  • I could see this backfiring.
  • I thought of stealing that one as well.. I could do with being more flexible, but I thought one steal was enough.
  • Oh, one more: 4) Maintain AT LEAST a 3.5 GPA
  • Hmm.. got me thinking. How about: 1) Drop body fat from 25% to 20% 2) Learn to crochet 3) Pull ups (Stealing this because I've never been able to do them :blushing:)
  • We have talked about it. More than once. And he can't seem to understand why I'd have a problem with it.
  • I want to lose maybe 15-20 at this point, but I think I qualify!
  • If you're already at 113lbs, then your weight isn't the problem. You need to cut down your body fat, and to do that you have to strength train. Even then, no guarantee that you'll have a "thigh gap". That's just how some bodies are.
