  • We got a cat together, but she moved with him  I can't have pets in my apartment. But, I might try your other suggestions, thanks.
  • I'm sorry you have to go through all that.. it doesn't exactly make me feel better that someone else is also suffering, but it is good to know that I'm not alone, and I guess that it could be much worse.
  • I'm this way. I like feeling like I have control. I feel uneasy if I'm not counting, really. Maybe it's a bit of an obsession :blushing:
  • How on earth can you stop eating at 4 or 5?? Not criticizing, but man I'd be STARVING by the time I went to bed if I stopped eating at 5. I don't have a time I stop eating. I have actually gotten out of bed to get something to eat because my stomach was growling and I couldn't sleep
  • I have to agree with this as well. Stationary bike and elliptical are both cardio machines, so while they'll get your heart pumping, they won't really "tone" much of anything. I suggest adding some strength training, but even that won't make fat in any particular area just disappear. You just have to keep at it with a…
  • I think the easiest move to work on your triceps is probably doing dips. They're pretty simple and can be done pretty much anywhere.
  • I think the amount of time you spend on it is less important than the intensity. I think, for your legs alone, you could probably go with even just 20 minutes so long as you're pushing it as hard as you can go. If you feel at the end of your workout that you've pushed your muscles as hard as they could take, then mission…
  • I've been eating dark chocolate covered almonds, they seem to do it for me and are not that bad for you. Just have to be careful to keep it to one serving.
  • Just googled dragon flags.. dude.
  • I doubt it makes a difference what order you do them in, as far as calories burned. Just so long as you're doing them, you'll get the same burn.
  • Right *now* is not necessarily the problem. No, I'm not working, but school does require around 50 hours a week, and next term it'll be closer to 60 hours. That and internships, research programs, clubs, etc. Yes, I have time now, but I'm looking at the rest of my year.
  • We have a fantastic rec center, two cardio rooms, two weight rooms, rock wall, basketball, volleyball, swimming pool, you name it. So that itself is not a problem. For some reason I just really have a hard time with the idea of quitting this, despite the fact that I never really look forward to it.
  • I started counting calories the same month that I got mine in and lost 35lbs over the following 6 months or so.. So yes, I did lose weight, but the implanon didn't just make fall off, I worked for it, just like you did :drinker: Give yourself some credit!
  • I'm not super familiar with the XBox version, but I did both dvds and a class, and I would say that the main thing would be to make sure that there's a good variety of routines. When I was doing to dvds, I got bored after a while because it was the same thing every time. I LOVED the class that I took though, because there…

  • 130lbs is right at the bottom end of what is healthy for a woman at 5'10", so it is still "healthy." What she seems to be concerned about is that some how she'll suddenly drop another 15lbs after she's reached that point. Why not shoot for 135-140 and work on building lean muscle? There are loads of examples of people who…
  • I think you are making this way too complicated. Had a hard time following exactly what you're saying, but I would just shoot for 130-135 range and focus on how you look and feel rather than what the scale says. I've never heard of this "long-term water weight" you speak of.
  • Yeah, I would definitely be going out and doing to hiking, try to use the situation to your advantage. Just keep moving quickly enough to keep your heart rate up a bit. Then, when you find a somewhat secluded spot, do other stuff there, lunges, push ups, etc. If it were me I'd probably not do anything too crazy strenuous,…
  • I think beans are a good source, too.
  • I've been doing oatmeal for quite some time, with different toppings to keep it interesting. I recently started adding a serving of egg whites in the oatmeal as well, mostly to add some protein, but I've also noticed that it fills me up more.
  • Every year when shorts season rolls around I tell myself that, by next year I will have nice looking legs and will be comfortable wearing shorts! But, that hasn't happened yet. Maybe next year!
  • I also heard, though, that a lot of food is getting thrown away. I don't know how factual that is, it's just what I've heard, but if it is true then that could partially explain why kids are hungry. As far as protein goes... well, feeding a school full of kids fresh lean meats would get pretty expensive, I'd imagine. It's…
  • I've never heard this before... how exactly do you do this? I make mine in the microwave because I don't exactly have a stove, just a hot plate that sucks. Can I still make it work that way?
  • I'm almost afraid of falling in love with it, that is if I make it. I want to do study abroad next year though, and I won't be able to do both :(
  • I was about your son's age when my parents split, and I guess I was okay with it because to me it was just the way it always was. I don't have many memories from when they were together, and the ones I do have are not good ones. I always looked at it as a positive, actually, relative to what it would have been like had…
  • What a great point! I never thought of it like that.
  • I believe the things you listed do count, but after awhile it may not be enough and you will either have to get more creative or invest in a gym membership or some heavier weights.
  • Oatmeal made with 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk, raspberries, and peaches, and a cup of hot black tea with raw honey :)
  • Personally, I do like it better than a candy bar. And if you're reasonable about it, like putting a single tablespoon on a piece of whole wheat toast you can get the same satisfaction of having your sweets cravings fulfilled, but it actually will often come in at less than 200 cals(depending on the bread). Not that it's a…
