I've had them many times and they don't make a bad alternative to turkey at all. Have some mushroom gravy and cranberry sauce on hand and with all your good veggies and healthy desserts, you will come away feeling very satiated. Don't forget, you don't need as much of a Tofurky portion as you would a real turkey. The…

OMG! The two of you look incredible and I love the matching outfits. In the scheme of things 11 months is a drop in the bucket and to lose 100 + pounds in that time frame is mind boggling! Congratulations to both of you and stay with your healthy new attitudes! You are both inspiring. God bless.

I have days where I can't sleep (or wake up from a sound one) because I am in such a high mood and have so much going on in my head, it makes it impossible. But once day comes and I have to get up, I seem to still be able to functional fully during the day. I can stay up later than before but I don't make a habit of it…

You can add me if you like. I follow the 5:2 WOE but have friends following many different diet programs. Good luck on your journey. It is not impossible. There are many people here that have lost that kind of weight and more. You can do this. God bless.

I haven't picked one yet, but my ex-husband died last year and he picked all this own tunes for his memorial. Some were very beautiful and some were funny and definitely reflected his sense of humour. The one that I danced to around my living room in his honour (because I was sent the playlist) was Dead Skunk in the Middle…

I have been doing the 5:2 since April 2013. I am now at maintenance and love the fast days for the health benefits i have achieved as well as the weight loss. Best plan I have ever used in my life and has definitely changed my awareness about portion control.

I need a new winter coat - I went from a Size 18 coat to an extra small over the spring/summer - darn!
-
I started the 5:2 in April 2013. I reached my goal weight and am on maintenance but still maintaining the two fast days because of the health benefits I have gained following this WOE. I'm still working on the maintenance aspect as I dropped another two pounds this morning. I'm a work in progress. We have some great…

Good for you! Nicely done. Enjoy your success!

Are you still drinking your water? That makes a big difference in gauging whether we are hungry or just dehydrated. Also, when you were "dieting" at the 1200 calorie limit, were you eating more vegetables and protein choices and are now eating more refined carbs and sugar, both of which will burn off quickly and leave you…

You've done a brilliant job and you have such a wonderful, positive attitude about your long term commitment. Seems like you've got this all under control! Thank you so much for posting, you are an inspiration for many of us.

Hi Alison and welcome back to MFP. I read your story and I can definitely relate. Portion control, I think, was the big secret that I never got until just recently, utilizing the 5:2 fast program as well as the MFP site, which has been incredibly helpful and provided me with some fabulous new friends who give me the…

My SO&SO is very supportive of me at whatever weight I am. He has been with me through thick and thin so to speak, carnivore to vegan, and he rolls with the punches very well. He is very pleased for me right now because I have met my goal weight and taken up a healthy exercise routine, which he tries to join me with…

It's not too late! Go for the win! You can do this. Talk to your doctor and get a great support group going here and you will be able to look back on this and wonder why you ever thought you couldn't do it. God bless.

Tremendous deal! Enjoy to the max! Good luck on your future goals.

I'm in the same boat - have been reading up on raw vegan lifestyle for a little while now. One day I hope to get there.

I'm with pearlmorning! Good luck on your journey!

Congratulations. I am so proud and happy for you! You have worked hard for this!

Yes, I have. I love it and am now on maintenance doing a 6:1. I started in April 2013. Add me if you would like another 5:2 friend and Holly above is amazing!
-
I think it helps. You don't feel so alone out there and sometimes friends and family are not quite as interested in your weight loss program as you are. It's nice to speak with people on the same page.

I have no suggestions because I'm in the same boat as you. I know I don't intend to gain back my weight and am trying to increase the calories using healthy foods. It's not as easy as it sounds. Experienced maintainers, please respond.
