Are there any that don't involve arm bands? I am really curious but wear a lot of tank tops!

@jyska - thanks for that! I often make giant lunch salads and today I added chic peas instead of having a side of crackers just to up the protein a bit. Two hard boiled eggs, too. And cottage cheese for a snack and a protein shake for breakfast! I'm trying not to rely too much on deli turkey even though I love it - too…

Thanks folks! I've read enough now that I do trust it will work, but I am the most impatient person I know, so it's not easy! And, I've gotten rid of all my "fat" clothes by now so there's no going back! :) And, I must say, it is awfully nice to be able to order bun from the Vietnamese place when I didn't have time to pack…

That's awesome! My goal is to do an unassisted pullup as well - I did "negatives" on some TRX rings last week and my arms are STILL sore! I'm wondering if anyone knows of or could give me an example of a Crossfit workout I could do in a regular gym, since our only Crossfit box up here is way out of the way.

Best thing I ever did was get a heart rate monitor. I don't wear it in bouts but I do wear it for practice and scrimmage. I generally burn 600-800 calories at any given two-hour practice. Endurance practices where there's more skating and less talking are on the higher end. Scrimmages (at least when we have a full team!)…

Thank you! Looks like my cut goal is 1,889. And if I burn more than 424 calories in a workout, I will eat enough back to net my BMR of 1,464. Do I have that right? :) I've been driving myself nuts trying to figure out what I should be increasing to. I'm going to up calories immediately and stay away from the scale for a…

Hey! I should say that the key has been not eating and drinking back the calories in beer and other foods that sound delicious after practice. :) I haven't been eating all my exercise calories back on a 1,200 net calorie plan, but I feel like I've started plateauing so I'm going to try eating them back and see if that…

I'm a founding member of Vermont's Green Mountain Derby Dames and an active skater on our WFTDA team, the Grade A Fancy. It wasn't until I got a heart rate monitor that I realized just how many calories I burn at practice...the key for me has been not eating and drinking them back! Losing more than 20 pounds has helped my…
