I don't only track my food for the caloric intake. I want to know if I'm getting all of the right nutrients, making good choices long-term, getting the right amounts of fruits and vegetables, etc. I think it's important to understand that just because you meet or fall below your calorie goal for the day, doesn't mean you…

I'm 28, have been using MFP for ummm, maybe a couple of years but recently am on a 45-day streak. I started doing Insanity over a month ago and love it! I also love eating, and don't encourage eating disorders nor eating/exercising on a ridiculous 1200 calories per day. If you want to be friends, please include a message…

I agree with those 2 ladies -- I use Dermablend to cover my wrist tattoo (it's a skull & wristbones with "no regrets" written below it, not so good for my current office job search). It works perfectly! I've never had anyone notice that I even have a tattoo when I use it. Takes some practice to get just the right amount…

DaisyDavis hit the nail on the head!

Water is a "colorless, transparent, odorless, tasteless liquid that forms the seas, lakes, rivers, and rain and is the basis of the fluids of living organisms". Mike, would you consider Crystal Light, milk, coffee, tea, and/or Powerade Zero -- colorless, transparent, odorless, and tasteless? No. So there you have it!

My first suggestion is to modify any exercises that seem to be putting excess stress on your lower body joints (hips, knees, ankles). I sometimes do the Insanity workouts with my mother, who is 5'10" and weighs about 220 pounds (I am 5'8" and 157.) She takes some of the movements down a notch (some of the jumping…

I agree! I wouldn't go with frozen or steamer meals as a lunch staple. Sticking to whole foods when you can is a great way to keep your body fueled without all the excess garbage. I also agree with some other posters about just packing up leftovers the night before when you're cleaning up dinner. One more thing you can do…

I've got this one already in my "fitspiration" photo file. What a motivator!

I don't have all of the answers, but I do have my knowledge/opinions... I feel ya when you say you want to go out and partake in all the young, fun stuff - including drinks. I try to get my workouts out of the way as early as possible and eat as well as I can throughout the day. This way, I don't feel guilty for having a…

Just remember that he is on his own journey to health, just as you are. Please don't be discouraged that he is becoming so involved, I think it's healthy for couples to have some activities to call their own.

It's gotta be the fiber! How much cereal are you eating?

Damage? Ehhh, not so much. But slow down your metabolism and put yourself at risk to become infertile? Yes. You have to start eating more! I know that sometimes it feels like you aren't hungry but you just have to eat. (I struggled with a similar issue.) Check out this post:…

Same here. I love avocados! But -- if you didn't know they were so fatty, maybe you should do a little more research next time you start getting hooked on any one type of food. (Not being condescending, sorry it kind of reads that way.)

The other day I blended an avocado with some cilantro and spices, then used it as a mayo substitute in chicken salad. AMAZING!

Check this site out: www.mybodygallery.com I stumbled across it and it was helpful in showing me a different perspective of my body/body type.

If you 1. do Insanity 2. log in daily 3. are supportive & motivating and enjoy receiving the same please add me! I'd like to have more active friends!

Well, hello there, strangers. xoxo

Did my day 5* of Core Cardio & Balance just now with absolutely NO shoes on -- and I loved it! Being barefoot during my workout was eye-opening! I was forced to pay more attention to my form and how I landed after jumping. I gotta say I liked how secure it felt when my toes gripped the ground instead of desperately…

If you are eating 1200 calories or less per day and exercising, you aren't eating enough. Period. Doesn't matter if you're 5 feet tall and 110 pounds, 1200 calories is simply not enough calories for your body to fuel itself properly. If you have fallen into the MFP trap of believing you need only take in 1200 calories per…

This forum topic highly intrigues me... Tomorrow is my Day 6 of Insanity's Recovery Week. I can't afford to buy new shoes right now and the ones I have are very worn out and in my opinion, not very supportive or stable for all the jumping involved with Insanity. I am going to try tomorrow's workout in my bare feet and…

This is way too hard. Either a full Southern meal including a slow-cooked pork roast with onions, baked mac & cheese, collard greens, some good cornbread, mashed potatoes with the skin on and mushroom gravy, black eyed peas, and a HUGE draft beer... OR a traditional holiday meal with turkey, ham, at least a half dozen…

I try to keep my percentages at 40-40-20 (as in 40% carbs, 40% protein, and 20% fat). That is the recommended nutrition plan accompanying the workout I'm doing (the Insanity program). I agree with Skylark94 that protein is a good thing. However, I've read from many sources that your body can only absorb a maximum of around…

Everyone using MFP should understand that if you have a goal of losing more than a few (>10-15 pounds), the "have MFP set my goals for me (recommended)" option is going to set you at 1200 calories per day. You can manually adjust your calories.

I messaged someone else who said they had this. Is it actually real? Please email it to me, my email address is luxhappens@yahoo.com Thanks!

I'm noticing how my clothes are starting to fit well again and some things are even becoming too big for me. Screw the scale. Hooray!
-
Wow. I am really not looking forward to that, man! I'm on week 4 of month 1, the recovery week next week sounds appealing, though, hahahh! When I get to where you're at I will probably knock the fit test out in the morning and then do the actual workout later in the afternoon or evening if necessary. Let us know how it…

I agree with many of the other commenters. I am very positive and love encouraging others so feel free to add me! Just remember that it doesn't matter how sarcastic or "rude" someone else is. Don't let the opinions and BS of others hinder your journey to health! Ya gotta decide what you let bother you and what you don't.…

I just put up my first blog post. I am going to post some photos soon (my "befores" and also some old pictures I look at for fitspiration). Everyone feel free to subscribe and I will subscribe back! Also, if you are an active MFP user please add me. I am looking for friends who are supportive and encouraging as I am, and…

First of all, I'm sorry to hear that your father was so unsupportive. Secondly, you probably already know that skipping breakfast is the worst way to try to drop pounds. Third, I have just sent you a friend request and look forward to mutual motivation!

My boobs aren't the hugest (I'm a 36C sometimes D) but I find supporting them while working out CRUCIAL. You know how many times I've seen women jogging/running down the road with their girls bouncing everywhere? I always comment, "They must not want those to look good later." Sagging occurs when the tissues of the breast…
