  • My weekend was a hot mess! I feel off the band wagon on Friday (maybe even Thursday) and now I am in recovery mode. I did not journal or care - I tried to make daily goals and well off the wagon I went. Today is a new day. I got up - got the kids off to school - had breakfast - worked out burning 695 calories x-training on…
  • I did not make my goal yesterday - the old excuse 'my allergies got me' kicked my butt last night with a terrible sore throat, headache, stuffy nose, bla bla whine whine - however: on the bright side I sucked it up and took my kids to the schools family fun and fitness with a big smile (then I came home and went to bed). I…
  • @meccasue - thanks for checking in!
  • Here is my gym strategy - I go when Wendy Williams is on - this way I watch her for the first 30 minutes during her Hot Topics and burn the calories away either on the treadmill, elliptical, or other cardio machine. Then since I am already there I may as well do the weights. Before I know it my workout is done.
  • I love rewarding myself - I used to do it with food but this time I bought a new bathing suit in a smaller size....come summer it better fit cause it is the only 1 I have and I would hate to miss out on the pool. I am trying to loose 25 lbs by July when I see my family again in NY -
  • The following is the training I was provided - now I switch up my days since starting so my body does not get used to the routine so 1 week I will start with Day 3 and the next Day 2. You don't have to go in order. Also, cardio has to be switched up if you like to walk for cardio do at least 5 minutes on the bike or…
  • I made my goal. No pizza and no soda even though the craving was killing me yesterday. Today my goal is to do Zumba tonight and try to fit in a walk sometime while the kiddos are at school - trying to get the house in order for a busy weekend today.
  • I am...or was...or fixing my nighttime eating addiction. I drink alot of water and I can tell you to chew gum but I hate gum so probably not the best advice. Have you thought of taking up crocheting or knitting or something like that? Sounds wierd but my friend had great success and made some interesting things. I just…

  • No, I have not tried it but I have tried P90X and realized I am not in shape enough to keep up. I would suggest using a watch the shows calories burned - if I know there are web sites which you can put in the exercise and time and it will configure calories burned - I googles and one site said near 1000 per workout - I…
  • I made my own trailmix with my favorites. They make a great low cal snack of under 200 calories a serving. I also enjoy apples, celery, and my new found love are kellogs yogurt breakfast bar (takes care of the sweet) and the fiber one bar options (some even taste like candy bars). I switch my snacks around to keep things…
  • Results come in other ways beyond the scale. I do a cardio workout for 30 minutes M-F and have fun with the kids on the weekends. My cardio is whatever I enjoy doing as long as my hear rate goes up. I suggest making your workouts enjoyable so you don't burn out. I can send you my weekly workout routine set up by my trainer…
  • Thanks for the encouraging words Incgruley - the pizza and soda has passed and I no longer want it. You set a great goal to up your water. I think I am adapt that one myself...thanks for sharing!
  • So today I got myself to the gym and did a 30 minute cardio. I was supposed to do weights but blew it off because I just am not feeling it today at all - I am more feeling like a cheese pizza and pepsi. My goal is to not eat pizza or drink the pepsi and go to my Zumba class tonight.
  • I had this problem. I started spreading my meals out and making sure to snack inbetween. For example, cereal for breakfast with fruit, snack is a protein shake, lunch, snack, dinner, and yes I even have a night time snack. Typically it is another protein shake to balance my nighttime Zumba class with a banana mixed in.…

  • My goal today was to get to the gym. Small goal but considering my past a large one at that. I set the goal because I started MFP a week ago to do what Triple D says. After many fad diest and weekly weighins I had no desire to hit the gym today for the 'weigh'in' Finally after much debate and guilt I went. To my surprise I…
  • HI! I am 41 and have battled weight problems since I was a teen. I have about 100 lbs I would like to loose but i know the older I get the harder it is. I have yo-yo'd my entire life doing fad after fad. One week into the MFP and I already feel better about myself and my choices. I have done the weekly counting points and…
  • feel free to add me - I am finishing my first week today -
  • Chesapeake here -
  • I have just realized this myslef. I am eating way more after joining this site on Tuesday (April 9, 2013) and have already dropped 2 lbs. I am not hungry at all and feel like I am constantly eating compared to what I was told to do in the past. Best advice I can give is to try new foods and nutricious foods. Small changes…

  • I recently had this discussion with my trainer = he suggested a Whey Protein Shake within one hour of working out to help with muscle repair. I like the advantage of grab and go.
