i also have this thing where if I want to self harm (by cutting) then I think about how I won't be able to go to the pool or certain classes till the injury heals and that can take months so that kind of puts me off a bit or at least results in less severe wounds.

Yes I agree about both the weights and Vit D. I also have PTSD and I have found getting stronger and having more visible muscle etc makes me feel more in control and capable , I definitely feel less vulnerable. It interesting how these things have such a strong psychological effect. I also started taking a Vit D supplement…

Yes I self harm, I have nerve damage which can sometimes restrict what I can do. Well done for going 1 whole year that's a great achievement. :flowerforyou: I find the likely hood of me self harming is pretty much nil if I am tired so if i do a couple of classes than I am usually pretty done in and just want to eat and…

I'm in the UK so I have to order it online. No walmart etc. I'm looking forward to trying this in my smoothies.

My Dad says that if God didn't want us to eat animals he wouldn't have made them out of meat.

I'm happy to add you as a friend if you want. "What about other non-gym exercise? Is there a walking group? Or have a try at some kind of sport - you could get on a beginners class or something - don't have to be an Olympiad laugh Well, you say you've stuck with it - well done you! I'm crap at dragging myself to anything…

Ah yes the ' Largactil Shuffle' I'm in the UK, although Mind are not in Scotland where I live. I was prescribed exercise a few years ago and had the initial consultation at the gym but I couldn't do it at the time. I think they are now realising that its more exercising outside that really helps mental health. I don't like…

So its better to use as a powder then? I like the idea of using it in a smoothie

1) I'm possibly the only person on Earth that has not seen Titanic 2) I think all rabbits should be electronically tagged and asked to leave the country 3) I still listen to tapes on my Sony walkman. 4) I don't have a favorite colour or film or song... 5) I was banned from Zumba for being so uncoordinated and for not being…

I agree .Life is hard enough.

Glasgow. Where are all the MFP Scotland dwellers?

I don't particularly enjoy exercise. I don't use the gym as I find it very boring I do classes instead, In a class the instructor and programme motivates you to work harder and get the best results. I find I can always do more than I think I can. It can be a chore, it can be boring and sometimes its just awful and I dread…

Yes.I love food and I tend to eat a healthy diet as much as possible but I also believe in moderation and if i really fancy something a bit unhealthy or indulgent then I will have it as long as its not all the time and doesn't go over my calories for the day ( well not too much). Especially when I'm out with friends and…

I was having problems recovering from exercise and I've found having a protein shake within 30 mins of finishing an exercise session has really helped. I find the shakes much more filling than the bars. I also tried boiled eggs and banana with peanut butter too which also worked quite well but the shakes are convenient if…

As I have mentioned already I only started actually using MFP on Friday ,although I signed up to it a while ago, I was finishing my subscription to Weight Watchers first. So if I made my diary public I would rather wait a couple of weeks so it gives a more information.

Those are some good points, I am a highly stressed person and am prone to putting on fat around my middle as a result and my sleep is affected as well. My insulin is fine as I had a load of blood tests in April. I have huge problems with fatigue and muscle pain for years and no one knows why.
-
I have recently , about a month ago started taking a Vit D supplement. I know if you are deficient it can cause fatigue.

Yes I have a bit of learning to do, thanks for the post. As for the exercise, the classes I'm going to now I like better than other things I have tried and I have stuck with them and there have been big improvements in my fitness and muscle tone.I still try new things as well. Its good to shop around. And you are right…

OK this sounds interesting , kind of re setting everything again. I'm still not sure how I work out TDEE? Sorry if I sound dumb but this is all new to me so I want to be clear. I've realised on this site that people just assume you know what they are talking about. Its true that I am very reluctant to stopped the training…

So As I said I will try eating less calories- about 1400 and using the MFP tracker and see how I get on. I will keep the level of exercise pretty much the same as it is still a big challenge for me, I also generally hate exercise; I don't get that ' feel good ' rush that everyone talks about so I will do what keeps me…

Yes I've only just started using this site, 3 days ago because my WW subscription is ending . I'm not running the two methods of tracking at the same time Because of the 'free' foods it wouldn't be compatible anyway. Its true you can end up eating more than you think with fruit and veg, if they are 'free' then it can be…
-
Ah yes that's true, there are free foods, fruit and most veg are' free'

I did lose inches as I lost weight ,I've gone down several clothes sizes, although my legs and arms have pretty much stayed the same as I've put on muscle . My measurements also seem to be staying the same now although i don't track them as much as my weight, Ive been the same clothes size for several months now too.
-
How were you tracking your food before? [/quote] Yes Ive been doing Weight watchers since last June
