The commitment was the original point of getting married... I don't think it works with life/society today. For proof look at divorce rates. So I guess the point of getting married now like many things is: It's just what people do.

I think this is all pretty good advice. I think you should always be yourself above all else but I don't see this advice as games. The profile is a snapshot of you, not your deepest darkest secrets or whatever, so leaving some stuff for later conversation is perfectly ok.

If you're talking about a random coming up to you at a bookstore or something the odds are pretty low. Are you going to parties, bars, groups, clubs or any common place where people approach people?? Don't you live in a college town?? There has to be stuff going on.

I don't think it's silly to get married... but I do think the notion that it's suppose to be a comitment for life is. And the funny thing is people keep spending more and more money on weddings that don't seem to own up to the investment.

I think you have to have faith in the person your dating not to search every detail of their lives. I would be interested tho, but I think it can lead down a road of unhealthy thoughts and questions.
