30 DS is pretty intense interval training. I started doing it last year and I was in good running shape (ran 10 k without problem), and at first, had hard time to complete it. With law carb diet, it is my understanding (please, correct me if I am wrong) it is not recommended that you should be doing any intense training. I…

Thanks to everyone for a great input into this topic. I am looking forward to finish reading all the links to the research in this topic. I am just learning all about it. My MFP set for 1260 now, and my loss is so slow (I am 122 - 125 lb, female, 5"2', 38 y.o.). What concerns me with the advices to eat more calories, it is…

Nothing selfish about it. Enjoy your life. But the fact that you are questioning it in the public forum tells me that you probably not 100% comfortable with your decision.

How is everyone? Still hanging there?

I totally agree with GigiBean. 40 g carbs is too low, you will be hungry all the time. Even if you eat only vegetables as a source for carbs, you should be getting at least 90-100.

I know exactly what are you talking about. What works for me: switched to dark chocolate completely (75-80 %). It is really bitter, and I cant eat it a lot, but it does satisfy your chocolate cravings. I started buying mine in the Organic store only (yes, it is more expensive and I am on budget, so I can't get a lot of…

I forgot to add: I feel great and full of energy now, BUT -- first couple days were misarable. I knew it will be, so I planned for it, and took two days off work. I slept a lot, and cut any heavy exercises -- no running, no HIT, just walking and yoga. After two weeks, I added slowly my weight training, I ran twice since I…

I swithched to LC a month ago. I tried it before, but like you, ended up binging. A lot of research and understanding of how your body works helped me a lot. This time I am trying to follow Dukan diet, and I would say after first two weeks all cravings for sugar and breads had stopped. I know a lot of people here saying…

I have hyperT. Was diagnosed a year ago and still taking medication. While most of the people loosing their weight with hyperT, I gained 10 kg. I remember been always hungry and eating tons of food (mostly healthy). I've been on MFP since may trying to loose weight. It is sooo hard and so slow. I agree that…

My goal for sugar 25 and I am sticking to that for last weeks. Feeling good.

This is such a good advice! I will keep this in mind when I reach my goal!

I don't believe in benefits of soy or almond milk unless you can't tolerate lactose. Keep plain yogurts in, just regular ones, no fruits in it. Usually human body does not digest cow milk very well as it gets older, so if you have to have milk, use almond milk, or try camel or goat milk, they are easy to digest. I…

Thanks! I am getting my fats from the healthy sources, but sometime feel bad when I eat that many nuts in one day.

Anyone can help?

I just saw this today and I am totally in. I've been without any sugar for last 2.5 weeks (other than sugar in vegetables and plain yogurts). I am intended to do it for a month, so count on me for support!

The last 5-10 kg is the hardest to loose. I also started in May with 130 lb (I am also 5"2), wasn't loosing much at all at the beginning despite my heavy level of exercising (it was like lost 0.5 lb in a two weeks, then gain another pound after a month). Now it suddenly start sliding down. I was 122.8 this morning and…

I think your problem is in the approach to the food. You think you have to like the food in order to eat it. It is wrong! You have to like yourself and your body first. And for your body in order to function properly, you need to maintain it properly, which includes balanced food, whether you like it or not. You have to…

I grew up in Ukraine and we had same schedule - breakfast, lunch and supper, and a small meal (yogurt, cottage cheese, etc.) at 4 pm. No snacks whatsoever. Same schedule was incorporated in pre-schools, summer camps, resorts. I am refraining from giving snacks to my kids, who was born and raised in America, too. Primarily,…

Your doctor and your step-son's dietician, also know who pays their bill. They want you to come back! Why they would talk to you about clean eating?

I am printing this and hanging on my fridge!

I am hyperthyroid (Grave's desiese, thyroid not removed), but I was gaining weight (approx. 10 lb last year). I read that despite the general treit that most of the people loosing their weight with this condition, sometimes you can gain. I remember eating non-stop last year, as I always felt hungry. Even my family noticed…

I felt of the wagon too for the last two days. Keep log in and praying that tomorrow I will be good and go back to my healthy lifestyle/

Did you mean to do burpees for an hour????

Mine is almost the same that MFP calculated for me (1220 by MFP), and 1237 by above formula.

I think I am the same way, even thought I found the word "binging" for the first time on this site a month ago. What helped me at the beginning -- if I have a feeling to stuff myself, I pull something healthy -- nuts, celery, gluten free muffins from the freezer, etc. I will still go over my calories on those day, but at…

I record everything, even 0 calories tea and coffee. Just to create a habit. I cheated couple times on the day when I ate out, ate a lot, and know I was way over my calorie limit. Those were days that I just enjoyed myself and didn't want to bother with calorie counting to get upset (I logged in main dish, saw it was over…

Bookmark to read later, since I am 5'2 and would love to hear from the girls who are struggling over 10 lb.

I am 5'2", 124.5 lb, very unhappy! Always feel good when I were 110-115 lb. Work in progress.
