  • I live in Colorado and hike and even backpack in the backcountry by myself all the time. Just make sure to let someone know where you're going and when you expect to return so if you come up missing they'll know where to look.
  • I did two rounds of Insanity early in the year and lost 25 poinds overall but it was not at a steady rate. During the first two weeks of each month, I never lost anything. The second two weeks I lost some, but not drastic. The real loss came during the recovery week. I dropped almost five pounds both times. I also lost a…
  • My FIL is 76 and walks 5 miles a day. He also hikes most weekends and climbed a Colorado 14er last year too. I say if you can keep doing it without days off, do so as long as you can.
  • I've one two rounds of Insanity and am just finishing up T25, month 3. After I finish T25 I'm going to do a combo and work my way through insanity again, but only every other day. On off days I'll do the T25 workouts that use weights and skip the fit tests and recovery workouts altogether. I figure that should keep me busy…
  • Mon-Fri: Walk 60-90 minutes at 4mph and 1 T25 workout. Sat and/or Sunday: Hiking\Mountain Climbing, usually 10-15 miles and 2000-4000 feet of elevation gain.
  • Over the last two years I've lost 95 lbs, going from 267 to 172. The only things I did at first were walk 30-60 minutes every day and track my food intake. My advice is to make one or two small changes at a time, things you can live with. With me the first two changes were to eliminate all sugary drinks and walk daily.…
  • I have a hat from Tilley. They have a secret pocket in the top that I put my cash and ID in sometimes. Great for walking and hiking as they're durable and keep the sun off.
  • Yesterday was an 11 mile hike in Rocky Mountain National park. My typical work weekday is walking 3-5 miles and whatever video is on the schedule for the day. Right now I'm finishing up T25 Gamma, I have the Pyramid this afternoon.
  • I log all excersize as walking 3mph. It seems to be one of the only ones that's close to actual calories burned and all other excersize burns more. If I do an insanity workout, I know I burned 2-3 times more than I do walking and that's fine. As long as I don't overestimate my calories burned, it's accurate enough.
