Congratulations on all your hard work, your happiness, health, fitness, strength and weight loss! You look like a different person! You are a wonderful inspiration.

I'm so excited for you!

Binge eating. I just eat everything in moderation now.

I’ve written a few NSVs lately on my profile (and seen them shared on the Facebook page, blush and thank you!) and I wanted to pull them all together with my history as a reflection of how far I’ve come in 2013 and let you know how Eat More To Weigh Less has helped me change my life in the last six months. I am so much…

I log it if possible as a reflection, but regardless, I get over it and get on with it. Life happens, especially with holidays and social events and celebrating with friends. I don't punish myself by exercising more for eating more, that can lead to disordered approaches to exercise and food. I go back to eating "normally"…

I workout after work, any time between 6pm and 8pm, and then a late dinner. I've tried to get up early for workouts and I'm never gonna be a morning person, I just turn the alarm off and go back to sleep. Evening workouts are my way to de-stress, too.

What above said. Also, someone who listens to you.

OK so I changed it and put in 60 minutes of Pilates in low cardio exercises, and 420 minutes of walking in medium cardio exercises (considering carrying heavy loads, hills etc.) and left the other activities the same. This gives me a TDEE of 2,417 and a TDEG of 1,926. However, if I put in my body fat % of 44% from the…

Thank you, that makes sense! I have a desk job so I'm not on my feet a lot at work. Really not sure if I walk that slow or faster, and realised I didn't factor in that a lot of the walking I do is over hilly areas and carrying heavy bags. I might play around and bump it up to the next category. Thanks heybales!

I'm re-running my numbers in this spreadsheet now I'm settling into a new weekly routine, and in anticipation of having my body fat % measured again. Can you please glance at this and let me know if I'm on the right track estimating activity minutes? Low cardio exercise walking flat up to 3mph and Pilates - 520 minutes (I…

This is so helpful, thank you both! I'm going to link my friend to this thread. She's done her own reading and feels a small deficit like 10% is where she'll start too, so it's great to have that confirmed! I always appreciate the wisdom of this group.

There are some great recipes here…

My new gym is tiny so I am not looking forward to this! I tend to go late in the evening which is not as busy though.

Definitely get your Vitamin D levels checked, over 50% of our population is deficient despite the amount of sun we get. Get your doctor to run other blood tests too, worth ruling everything out if you can!

I'm not lactose intolerant but I find I feel better if I stick to "light" milk rather than full cream. Interestingly, I process most dairy well but actual cream makes me really sick, a strange sensitivity. Light milk helps me stick to my calorie goal, and I always buy organic. I've been drinking light milk for so long I…

Ahhh that sucks you don't have an answer, even if it's a relief it's nothing serious. I've battled low energy for years and what has helped me the most is seeing an acupuncturist and herbalist. She has picked up on subtleties with chronic health conditions I have, my adrenals, hormones etc. I think it can often help seeing…

I go to http://www.luckyscent.com and type in the "note" I'm interested in. Helps to find out what works on your skin though, particularly base notes (I love musk). You can order samples of most of the fragrances on Lucky Scent for a few bucks each and they'll ship them to you cheaply and quickly. That's how I found my…

I was brought up vegetarian (mostly vegan) and I really freak out about eating food off a bone, especially if it's chicken. I can handle lamb chops, most of the time. I really struggle in confidence with cooking meat (though I've cooked some beautiful meat dishes recently!), and only cooked chicken on the bone for the…

I don't know you but I do read your posts here and wanted to extend my sympathies for your loss. You may have discussed this before in terms of fatigue and flu symptoms, but have you had your Vitamin D levels tested?

If you're not comfortable walking outside yet, there are some great Leslie Sansone walking workouts on YouTube (or you could buy one of her DVDs), that you can do in the comfort and the privacy of your home. As someone who suffered chronic pain for many years, moving more, not less, will help you. Do a little a day, and a…

I'm excited for you to begin this lifestyle of eating well and exercise! Dumbbells and machines got me where I needed to be to have the confidence and strength to pick up a barbell (...I wish I'd done it sooner!). With dumbbells, there are so many videos on YouTube you can watch where a trainer will demonstrate a move for…

Even at my slimmest I was a DD. I've dropped two band sizes (from a 40 to a 36). I've only dropped half a cup size, from a GG to a G, after losing over 55lbs. I think it depends on your body, we all lose fat from different areas first, you might lose it from your bust, or it might be slower to lose from your bust.

Blogilates, a Pilates instructor who also adds in some cardio HIIT, some yoga moves and body weight strength training. Her Beginners Calendar is here http://www.blogilates.com/calendar/beginners-calendar-for-popsters-just-starting-out and gives you a month of workouts, with links to all of her videos on YouTube. She's…

I've been reading both NROLFW and Starting Strength, and Strong Lifts 5 x 5 appeals to me the most because it's simple but a little varied. I've been seeing a trainer to teach me all the basics safely, so just have to learn how to deadlift now and I'd like to learn overhead press too. I've been practicing squats, bench…

You look like a different woman. Beautiful, happy, healthy. You deserve to be so proud of yourself. So happy for you.

Resurrecting this thread cause the friends I made through it are AWESOME. I'm quiet on the forums but do read. I've noticed some enthusiastic and knowledgable people I'd love to get to know, beginning this lifestyle or experienced.

This link is so useful, thank you! Saving it to my phone too, for when I'm out!
