I'm rarely sick now but if I have a cold (not a flu), I crave carbs carbs carbs!

[/url] Christina Aguilera in the "Your Body" video. She's 7cm shorter than me and we have a similar, hourglass body type. She's gained weight at times in a proportional way like I have. She looks really fit and healthy now and a little plump. I love the muscle I'm building but I want to stay curvy and soft, too.

This is a really good reality check that I don't rest enough, thank you. I'm not training for anything, my purpose is fitness and fat/weight loss. I am already really fit and strong at my weight - 88kgs (194lbs). I have a stressful job so exercise helps with that and my mental health. I'm 5"4 and I'd like to lose at least…

Thank you :)

Do I need to eat MORE? The explanation of the EMTWL philosophy in this thread was really helpful, thank you. I'd love some clarification and reassurance: BMR 1656,according to the Scooby Calculator. TDEE 3148, according to the Scooby Calculator, based on 7-21 hours a week of strenuous activity. According to my Jawbone UP…

Thank you so much!

I got sick of trying crash diets and realised there was no quick fix for me. I finally understood just how much weight I had to lose, and I wanted to feel fitter and healthier. I was sick of struggling, mentally and physically.

Have you thought about doing HIIT on an elliptical trainer instead, for low impact? I'll never be a runner because of collapsed arches and weak ankles, but my fitness increased dramatically with HIIT. Or try rowing? That's a whole body workout.

Have you had blood tests to rule out hormonal imbalance and to check your thyroid function? Have you had your blood sugar levels tested?

I do cardio, especially the stair machine. Also squats, lunges, Pilates, Abductor machine and leg curl, extension and press. They will tone slowly, mine have firmed up over about a year and I've built a lot of muscle. They aren't perfect, but they look really strong now and not jiggly.

What helped me was finding threads with women similar to myself, who identified as "plus sized". These women have similar beliefs to mine about positive body image, but have been through similar struggles to me too. Threads like this can be helpful in finding people similar to you, who will hopefully be in it for the long…

He needs a new pair of skinny jeans now! Amazing effort!

I was never in the habit of eating breakfast and on weekends I prefer to eat a large brunch around midday instead. I eat breakfast every week day now and I feel so much better for it. I don't have a "light" breakfast, because I find I need the concentration and energy for work now. During winter I ate microwave porridge…

You look so happy and strong and so much younger, too! Congratulations!

Holy wow!

Bumping this because you are so positive and pragmatic, and right about the mind-body connection. Congratulations, you look fantastic!

I can't sleep if I'm hungry and I can't sleep if I overeat. I always budget for snacks late in the evening into my calorie goal for the day.

Also get your Vitamin D levels tested, something like 50% of the population is Vitamin D deficient, and it can leave you feeling exhausted.

I'm in Brisbane and you're welcome to add me!

I keep a jar of it in the pantry for cooking, and a jar on my dresser for moisturising my skin. I stir a teaspoon of it into my porridge (oats) every morning. I sometimes roast or fry other foods in it and also use it in baking.

Would be helpful to get a pedometer or a fitness tracker (like a Fitbit or an UP) that also counts the number of steps you do in a day. You seem to be on your feet most of the day (rather than a sedentary desk job) so you're probably a lot more "active" than you realise, even without workouts at the gym. I walk as much as…

2020. Around this number is a normal day for me.

Eat six pitted prunes a day, they are like 110 calories -- also as above, you need to be drinking WAY more water, especially if you're exercising a lot. Try for 1-2 litres.

I understand your situation and your challenges. For many years my anxiety and depression stopped me from taking the steps to get fit and lose weight, because I couldn't find the emotional or physical energy to do it. I have been on different medications with varying success over the years. Medication helps me manage my…

Proud of you, for your positive mindset and realisations, and the courage to get back on track!

I work on metric but I have a half a litre (BPA free plastic) water bottle that I take with me to work, the gym, and when I'm out. Water really becomes a habit so I don't count, as soon as I've finished the bottle I just fill it up again. I think having a bottle you reuse becomes a really good habit.
