If you don't eat clean, you're likely to get tape worms. Always wash your food.

Your thread depresses me. I shall compensate now by eating a box of donuts.

My best friend is actually one of the organisers for zombie survivor. It should be back. I work at enmax, so we might work together. As far as running/hiking... I'm not much of a runner so I wouldn't want to hold you guys back xD

Likely water weight if you are really losing inches. However you make no mention of calories....

I have hockey games on Nov 17, Dec 14 and Dec 22. And I have a company Christmas party on Dec 6th. Those are the only weekends that don't work for me. Off topic, I had no idea there was a GROUP! :D

Change your goals to increase your protein. The set macros that MFP has are extremely outdated. Alternatively, you can just leave it and not worry about going over your protein as long as your caloric intake is below your goal.

The study he refers to I believe was done on obese sedentary people who were forced to eat 25% of their daily calories from fructose/glucose..... About 150g... or 3L of coke. O_o And you expect nothing to happen? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BMc0_s-M08I

Make your diary open to be sure. But 12 lbs in 4 weeks doesn't stand out to me as alarming or anything. Likely not a sustainable rate seeing as how you're approaching a more healthy weight.
-
It doesn't work that way. Your body can't hop around from burning fat to building muscle just because your daily calories jump from day to day. It's a slower process than that.
-
Lifting weights while on a deficit will allow for more retention of LBM, lowering body fat % more than just dieting alone. This is what achieves the "toned" look so many women want.
-
My city has had regulations on trans fat in food for years...
-
If I swung that way, sure.

Universal health care means I pay extra taxes and hospitals have more load to carry. But that's just the extreme of one side of this argument. The general problem is that the trend is increasing and science just points out that this is an issue for the general public to be aware. This is a slow and silent killer here.…

Add a horizontal rowing movement like a barbell row. Besides that, work on progression each week and it looks decent. BUT! Why not a beginners routine? Any reason for that?
-
I would say around 25-40%. Just a guestimate. And yes, lift weights now. In fact, lift weights yesterday.
-
Don't do it "light'. Do it heavy. Like the above poster said, lifting while on a deficit will help preserve the LBM you have now. Also ensure you have a good amount of protein in your diet.

I'm under 20. But I'm only 26... So....

Thanks, *thumbs up*.

Tofu and eat more of what you already eat.

While some of the things he mentioned are good, valid points. The majority (not some) are highly controversial and are wild claims with which he provides no reasoning for. You're right that I provided no helpful advice. So here you go: 1. Eat at a small surplus of calories. A small calorie surplus will prevent adding on…

Where are the Panther fans?

This one time I hit the gym and weighed myself after, I was 4 lbs heavier than I was in the morning. It was totally muscle because I lifted weights. I also bulk easily.

Go underwear shopping too.

Rowing? Want less muscle? Calorie deficit, low protein, stop use of muscles. Want to target a specific muscle group? Stop using just that muscle while doing the above. This SHOULD work. But I guarantee nothing!

Have you considered changing your username from cleanscience to broscience?
-
Great reply. Start tracking how much you actually eat. Things that are considered "healthy" can still make you put on fat if eaten at a surplus.
-
Maintaining and muscle gaining is about macro composition as well as calories. On top of, of course, weight lifting.
-
MFP uses an out of date American Agriculture based diet recommendation. Get much more protein in than MFP recommends and get it from the carbs that MFP recommends.
-
First picture is 20 carbs. Second picture is 2000 carbs third picture is 400 carbs fourth picture is 200 protein That's the only difference I can tell.
