When you cut your calories, were most of the foods you reduced or cut out carbs? How are your macros looking (ratios of carbs, fat, and protein) looking? A drop in carbs can cause that sleepiness, especially if it was a significant drop.

Either dumbbells or a lower weight barbell. Also better mentally because you'll be able to progress by starting at a lower weight, rather than struggling for weeks and getting discouraged. You'll potentially get enough of that once you're back on the 45 and trying to increase weight, unless you have fractional plates…

I'm not sure I really made mistakes, as I knew what needed to be done. I was just lazy. @derbygraham what are yours?

Have you looked at any of the V8 fruit juice blends? I'm not a fan of regular V8, but the juices weren't bad and you could get some vegetable servings that way if it fits into your calories and macros. If you are looking for more of a shake, you could just do a protein powder and add your own fruits and veggies, there are…

I'm not sure where you are getting the information that this stat is for "fad diets," I think the regain stats are pretty comparable across the board. A quick peek into the Introduce Yourself and Getting Started forums, and you'll see lots of people who lost weight by counting calories but regained. Even some of the…

It's not all lifestyle choices that contribute to that statistic. Think of all the things that can happen in a person's life over the course of 5 years. Illness, financial difficulties, life changes like children and jobs, relocation, death of family members, associated mental health issues with life changes, etc. Even if…

Well, if alcohol is a regular part of your diet and the associated relaxation from the alcohol is something you are used to, then I can see how removing alcohol would make one edgy, as it is basically removing a coping mechanism. As for carbs, that seems to be pretty individual. If you naturally prefer a higher intake,…

First, congratulations on your progress so far. I wanted to address each point in turn. I see where you are going with this - you decrease food and increase activity and see results, so surely adding more activity will yield better results, right? Those rest days leave you feeling antsy, like you should be doing something?…

Your post made me laugh - currently in the midst of decluttering/reorganizing, and it seems like every blog or article features a 6000 sq ft home with mudrooms and laundry rooms the size of my kitchen. I feel your frustration. In our house, meals are not very creative, and tend to be built around our activities. We don't…

It's going to depend on how much weight you have to lose. If my uncaffeinated math is correct, you're looking at around 15 lbs? A 500 calorie deficit is probably more reasonable, and at this point you would probably want to look at body composition more than scale number.

There is a good group on here with lots of information: https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/3070-p-c-o-sis

My best guess would be two possibilities. One, the smaller deficit and reduced exercise gave your body a break from the dieting that you have been doing for months. I would see significant drops during rest weeks where it wouldn't make sense since I wasn't carrying a larger deficit through activity. It was almost as though…

That's nice. I said I need to stop drinking it, I didn't say anything about you or anyone else regarding diet soda consumption. Odd that saying I need to stop putting something in my own body elicits responses from others expecting me to justify a decision that has no effect on them whatsoever, and defending their own…

Food weight? That salad and pizza is camping out in your intestines at the moment, along with whatever else you ate yesterday, and possibly some food from the day before.
-
Why do you think I need to keep drinking it?
-
That's an odd interpretation of what I actually said, but okay. Good luck to you and your eyeballs.
-
@shaumom, I appreciate the share. I found the article interesting. I feel like it relate well to a lot of advice we see on the forums, particularly around what and how to eat. We have a lot of posts about things like macro breakdown, what foods to eat, what foods lead to satiety - and invariably people will say it comes…

I do, but I need to stop.

I don't have personal experience with Invisalign, so I googled, and apparently people losing weight after getting Invisalign is a thing. The idea is that you can take them out to eat, but you're supposed to wear them for something like 20-22 hours a day. The weight loss seems to be from cutting back on snacking to keep…

I don't actually do IF with the specific window, but I have noticed that eating later in the morning is helpful to me. So as far as the hangry thing, what helped me was: * Staying busy: I try to schedule tasks prior to the start time so I'm not just sitting there thinking about food. * Exercise: Making a plan to exercise…

Check out the low carb and keto groups, I believe they have quite a bit of information about keto diets that is more in-depth than you see in a lot of articles shared on social media. I would start reading through content in those groups, and asking a lot of questions. There are some users on this site who have been keto…

I think having the numbers look pretty is about the only change I saw. I tend to keep my carbs lower than the MFP recommendation, so adjusting my macros helped with the psychological aspect of having everything line up. I already knew that I tend to feel better with the lower carb count and was eating that way anyway. I…
-
Are you looking for a certain calorie range or protein amount? Specific kind of protein? There so many protein powders out there, might be easier to give recommendations with a better idea of what you are looking for nutritionally.

If you have the equipment at home, you can definitely see results with a home program. You may need to switch to a gym once you move beyond the weights you have available, but it sounds like you haven't been doing any resistance training. You could probably manage at home for quite awhile.

Spaghetti measure. Each size corresponds to a certain weight. OP, I always cook pasta for multiple people, so one day I weighed out a dry portion, cooked it, then weighed the cooked portion. It's not going to be exact every time due to how much water is absorbed, etc, but it's a pretty good estimate to work from when…

Have you ever looked in the Introduce Yourself and Getting Started forums? There are lots of people who lost weight by weighing and measuring food, and counting calories, with MFP who regained the weight. There a lot of veteran community members who preach weighing and measuring, and counting calories, with MFP who have…

We have some fool in my community who walks during the early morning hours, we generally see her between 5:30-6 am. She is walking in the road in the lane of oncoming traffic, in a hilly area, and has no lights or reflective gear. There are paved trails on either side of the road, but she walks in the road. She seems to…

I'm not sure how "outdoorsy" it is, they don't seem to sell a single thing that would actually be useful in the outdoors. It seems to be more of a "I like to be outside when I drink and take selfies" sort of outdoorsy.
