Stitches are absolutely the weirdest thing about running. Nobody knows what causes them. People have theories, but no proof. Whenever I get one, I stop, breathe deeply for a couple of minutes, sip a bit of water, and back off of my pace. It seems to work, but I have no idea how to PREVENT them.
