I'm pretty happy with walking inside. There are a lot of reasons that on most days I can't get out, so most of my steps are from inside walks, fast and slow ones. I have come to understand that the more time I spend walking, the more calories I can eat! I like that part.

I wear a pedometer, as in, thats all it does, counts my steps. Inexpensive and easy to wear, simple to implement. I wear one because I can have anywhere from 5 or 6,000 steps to 27 or 28,000 steps a day. I have to fuel myself well, so on days my steps are high that means a lot more calories! Yesterday, the 8th I walked 12,599 steps. More line ups to wait in, but so many really helpful people, so it was a good day, just less steps than I would like. :) So far steps for November: 137,261. Welcome new walkers, hope weather is good for everyone walking today!

Yikes, I missed a couple of days logging my steps here! Nov. 5 15,784 steps Nov. 6 16,899 steps My subtotal of steps so far for November is 108,462 steps. Too many things that required waiting. I'd rather pace than stand in line. :~

I abstain from foods that I have found to trigger overeating; for me its sugar, deserts, bread, or if I eat a lot of fruit, rice or potatoes. If you get between 10,000 and 12,500 steps a day on average you can set your activity level to ACTIVE and eat the number of calories mfp has as your daily goal, and keeping your weight loss setting at one pound a week.

Oct. 31 I walked 14,030 steps. my total for October was 558,482. My goal was 620,000! I'm perfectly content with the results even though the goal I set wasn't realized. Best wishes all you walkers. :)

Prelogging really helps me. Having my own snacks is key. I also find just getting up and walking really works to keep me commited to the foods I prelogged and that I already know add up to my calorie goal for the day, or pretty close to it. Its interesting that 75% carbs is considered 'bad'. I live in an 'underdeveloped' country (it used to be politically correct to say 3erd world country). Sounds like winter is beginning to set in on the N. American Continent already. On bad days I walk inside, its not as nice but at least I can still get the steps in. The weather here is still warm and dry. Oct. 24 I walked 16,974 steps. October so far:442,964 steps.

We cook all our meals at home. Right now we live in an 'undeveloped country' so most of our food is very close to nature, unpackaged and, well, very good tasting, but some additional work in preparation. I still log every day, it makes me successful at maintaining.
