It's hard to say, everyone's different. But, it sounds like you know your body. You *may* gain weight? You may not. But if you do, is it enough of a reason to spiral you out of control? Just keep plugging away, you won't regret it.

I didnt realize I was disparaging, I thought I was asking questions. Apologies. You can just as easily eat filling foods to help curb your appetite; protein, whole grains, fruits and veg are a great place to start. Using something as a crutch isn't necessarily a good thing.

Well, I think if you're going to misquote me, you better be prepared to be judged. And, since you conveniently pick and chose those parts of what I said to respond to, you should expect it. I back what I said up, you backpedal.

There is no such thing as an accurate number on the scale, it fluctuates, hourly. Just sayin'. And, you'd have to take at least 2 weeks worth of acidophilus/probiotics (activia) to reap the benefits, not just the day before weigh in. But hey, if it makes you feel better, go for it.
-
I do nothing to try and sway my weigh-ins. Are you willing to take a pre-weigh in laxative from now on? Maybe instead of taking a laxative, you should help things move along with more fiber, water, and healthy fats.
-
At no point did you say you were a follower of the primal diet, just sayin'. You said you tried a fast for the first time today and Luv should try it too. From that, I'm supposed to read between the lines and take that to mean you're following the primal diet? Whatever. Clearly, you're taking it personally, though, that's…

Come to think of it, the best diet products that have worked for me are: Measuring Cups A food scale Good fitting sneakers Cute workout clothes A body weight scale Fitness DVDs My Bike A pass to the local rec center My Dog
-
I didn't see you state any lifestyle preferences, all I saw you state was that some website recommended a fast and that you've tried one fast to day. I didn't know fasting was a lifestyle, muchless that I was knocking it? The only thing I DID say was that I wouldn't recommend fasting. Never said you couldn't, never said…

(Sweetie, for real? Ick!) I guess you didn't read what else I wrote Platoon? Just so we're clear, the primal diet is neither "different" OR "extreme to me" I also said it sounds like the Maker's Diet to me, it's not THAT unique of an eating approach as there are other similar diets out there. I also said I eat "clean"…

Thanks for the info, I sort of already did a preliminary search, I'm not really interested in it beyond that.
-
Now........... question............ do you drink anything while doing it? water? crystal light? anything? [/quote] You shouldn't ever really deprive your body of hydration. But if you're eating clean, I wouldn't recommend crystal light.

I *think* the daily protein recommendation is somewhere around .36 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight. But, I'm not a doctor so I can't speak to what's appropriate for you. Processing protein can be hard on the body, even if it's lean & not all animal derived. It just takes more work, that's why we're fuller for…

Good to know, thanks for the info. Sounds sort of like the maker's diet to me. I just did a little reasearch, it's nice that the primal dude doesn't advocate killing yourself at the gym, that's kind of cool. I've been eating whole for a few years now, I guess clean eating is the new buzzword? I could never give up grains,…

Alrighty then... I've never heard of the Primal Diet (or whatever it is, sounds kind of fad-like to me). I eat whole, fresh foods. The only thing you'll find in my freezer is ice cubes. I guess I don't need a meal plan set out for me, I follow Michael' Pollan's wisdom, it's simple and it makes sense: "Eat food. Not too…

I found the best way to bust a true plateau (6 weeks or more of a stalled scale) is to change my menu around. Maybe it's time to give up on the primal blueprint diet and just eat well.

Are you willing to take those "green tea" pills for the rest of your life? Are they teaching you how to control your portion size? Why not just drink green tea?
-
The less you have to lose, the slower it is to come off. Just sayin'.
-
If you lose at a (key words) healthy & sustainable rate of loss, WITHOUT the pills, you can also lose up to 10 lbs./mo.
-
There is no magic weight loss pill. A sensible diet & consistent exercise has NEVER failed me. I have my limits on what I'll do to sustain/maintain my weight loss and popping a pill or concoting a magic drink, for the rest of my life is not something I'm willing to do.
-
Weighing in once a week, on the same day at the same time is what works for me. I step on, I step off. It's all about being consistent . I get neither motivated nor frustrated by seeing the normal, hourly scale fluctuations, therefore, it's not worth it to me to weigh in every day. Some people obsess about the scale, some…

I wouldn't consider a day where you tracked your calories and burned calories a bad day. Therefore, guilt has no business renting out a space in your brain.
-
Honestly, I don't understand what the rush is and why someone would choose such an unsustainable, in the long term, diet plan. I realize it's MY preference, but I'm all about slow & sustainable losses; who wants excessive sagging skin? who wants to cause internal organ damage? who wants to feel deprived? who wants to eat…
-
What they said. Ick. Why would you deprive yourself of essential vitamins, nutrients, and fuel? There's absolutely no way I could sustain myself on such a calorie-low menu plan. Also, starvation mode is a myth for purposes of a western diet. It would take months of malnutrition (though it seems like your on the right path…

And they all said "amen".
-
None of the above so much. I don't really deprive myself on a daily basis so I don't really have a reason to "cheat". If I'm going out for a good meal, I guess that could be considered a cheat day. BUT, unless it's a small plate kind of place, it's rare I eat an entire plate of food. Though I'll admit, I get offended if I…

You can fatten up some choices, the easiest way to do that is use fuller-fat/healthy fat foods. Nuts, nut butter, avocado, fuller fat dairy (yogurt, cheese), add some olive oil to meals, etc.
-
Me, I don't worry about things that haven't happened yet. And, since everyone is different, comparing my diet to someone else's is kind of counterproductive, in my opinion. I never experierenced a plateau, so, as you can see, I'm already different from the first two people to respond. Some weeks I lost, some weeks I…
-
Weigh in once a week, at the same time. Whatever the scale reads will be the the correct weight. No sense in driving yourself crazy checking & rechecking. Weight fluctuates, hourly sometimes.
-
Seems like it's a lose quick scheme to me. And, reviewing the suggested menu, it hardly seems worth it to me. I'd want to stab someone with such boring/limited food choices after three days. BUT, that's just me. I prefer slow/steady losses and usually experience a "big" loss my first week back being committed to my…

I don't really understand what you're asking BUT I say, do what works for you.
