  • Thanks for the comments. My body fat is at about 30.6% so I'm hoping as that goes down, so will my fat deposits. I was just wondering in terms of what might help to strengthen that area so it's not just fat. Just like crunches help with your abdominal region and bicep curls help build your biceps. It was just more a…
  • Endoftheside. I really appreciate your feedback. Even if it is selective eating disorder, I am sure the therapy would be exposure. With the whole crock pot thing, I have about 15 minutes to get ready before work. I am not a morning person and am not going to get up earlier to start dinner. Plus, I hate cooking. My husband…
  • I really think I need one. One who's familiar with the whole selection eating thing. I'm pretty tired of it and feel like my journey would be easier with the issue. And I'm sure those with ED's feel the same way.
  • I love lettuce. I like romaine too even. Not a huge fan of kale. Spinach I am alright with cooked, but it tastes much better in a smoother I'm sure.
  • Rlalik, Thanks for the advice. I would like to keep my meals around 400-500. The past week has been really rough. I think it'd be best to just stick around a baseline of like a peanut butter sandwich and then add fruits, granola, and such to it for my breakfast & lunches. Susanr613, I am leaning towards Selective Eating…
  • Thanks for those who have actually replied. I do like meat. I do not like tofu or vegetables nearly enough to become vegetarian, but love to substitute beans. So as many of you have requested, here's a list of foods I do like: Oh and by the way, i didn't add eggs to my list, but can't stand their taste and I've had them so…
  • Thank you!!! If I could just "suck it up," i would have done it already.
  • I am having the exact same problem, but it is from actually weighing myself. I've gone from eating out daily or more to eating much more healthy and having actual portions. And I have been exercising a lot. My jeans don't fit better, but I feel a lot better. I was super motivated last week and weighed myself Saturday…
  • Well I completely despise cake, brownies, most cookies, and cupcakes. So it sounds like a fair trade.
  • To me, you eat well especially since you are active. I am not the healthiest eater. Maybe adjust your calories to like 1750-1900, but it shouldn't be an issue. I would recommend lowering carbs and sodium, which are my weaknesses. I just adjusted my goals and did a custom one that is 40% carbs, 30% fat, 30% sugar. I also…
  • I started MFP on March 15th so practically a month ago and have only lost a pound. I am also in the process of trying to figure out how this all works. I can certainly provide some tips though and ways to get motivated: 1) Choose your method. MFP will put you at a certain calorie amount depending on your information and…
  • You are a MUCH cleaner eater than I am (vegetables, eggs, cereal) since the only vegetables I like are broccoli and carrots. If only we could switch woes.
  • Good idea. I think focusing on Macros is much more vital right now. Plus, I used to consume about 3000 calories with probably 4000mg sodium a day before starting here and addicted to Diet Pepsi, going without actual cups of water for days. And now I drink at least 8. I don't have a health reason so it should work out.
  • when I calculate the amount of calories my husband consumes while snacking late at night instead of joining in when I spend more time on MFP than Facebook when I knew what Macros, TDEE, BMR, and all the other lingo meant I can't wait to do my weigh-in and measurement on Saturday morning to see how well I've done
  • This times 100%. I feel like an MFP recruit.
  • That helps a ton! I have been out of all fruits & veggies lately except for celery which essentially is like water. I will be grocery shopping today and will definitely add in avocados and nuts and things. I LOVE avocados and lucky for me, I love them plain without any seasonings. I appreciate your help on the macros too.…
  • That's amazing! No shots are a great achievement. What you're doing is obviously working.
  • Hate to admit, but I absolutely despise cupcakes. The frosting is so terribly sweet. The actual cupcake itself is generally too sugary for me too. I also hate donuts. If I am eating a sweet, I will usually go for a cookie and maybe eat half. Brownies maybe if they're dry and cold. I'd much rather go for a giant burrito.…
  • Welcome! I am a carb junkie. During and after pregnancy, I became EXTREMELY picky with meat and now only eat 1 brand and type of chicken. Therefore, I turned to carbs and fast food. Had no idea how much calories, sodium, and carbs I consumed until here. It has been such an eye opened. Couple of things - - Sometimes with…
  • I tried the juice diet for a week and did the Naked Juice as my juice since I work very early, am not a morning person, and didn't want to make my own. I would definitely try the protein zone ones although those tend to be a bit gritty. My only concern is the sugar. One of the smaller ones is about 30g of sugar. I am not…
  • I only exercise when my daughter is asleep too which means I also don't want a ton of noise. I have a stability ball and will stretch out on that. It is very low impact and you can do a lot of balancing. That or maybe yoga???
  • Peanut butter sandwich, watermelon, LOTS of water, and cheerios. Wow, I must be in grade school.
  • Welcome. I'm not a new mommy (my daughter is 2), but still just wanted to chime in. Great to see you're already looking to get started after 4 months. I am starting after 26 months of having a baby. I love it here and the community is great. The biggest help has been with logging calories. Try logging daily. This helped me…
  • I was at 1301 calories and my TDEE is at 1700, which is VERY scary and TOO EASY to fill with junk food. I have been ranging 1400 to 1600. Good luck
  • Even last night, I was up pretty late (11:30) just to give myself time to relax and watch some HGTV. My husband came in and was eating frozen burritos even though we had a pretty filling dinner at 7. He asked me if I want anything as a snack and I had to re-explain that I can't do that anymore. At dinner as well, he got me…
  • I watched my husband snack at 11:30 last night while I sat next to him refusing temptation. I had already reached my calories and finished dinner at 7.
  • I work and go to school full time as a senior in college with a husband that does the same and watch our 2 year old. I exercise when she goes to bed. Feel free to add!
  • I cannot do a standard push-up AT ALL. Well maybe like 1-3 centimeters down, but only 1-2 times. I just learned about dive bomber push-ups a couple of days ago and tried them and I could successfully do 3 sets of 5. I have never heard nor tried a Hindu push up. The thing about dive bomber push-ups is that you need to work…
  • I'm the worst of the group so far. I'm 26 months PP. Oh MY. I started my pregnancy at 186 and got up to 213. Since then, I got up to 220. That's right - I weigh even MORE now than I did during my last trimester of pregnancy. I joined MFP about a month ago and have been toning a lot. Have only lost a couple of pounds.…
  • Congrats on your weight loss so far. I have just a 2 year old daughter and she certainly keeps me active. Apparently not enough to lose weight. Sounds like you suffer from night snacking like myself. After my daughter goes to bed, I just feel like I have the freedom to finally relax and sit down, which used to result in…
