  • I just want to share this with everyone: http://www.reddit.com/r/getdisciplined/comments/1q96b5/i_just_dont_care_about_myself/cdah4af?context=3 I am so inspired by this person's comment on reddit and wanted to share it with you all. Usually I think this self-improvement, motivational stuff is hokey, but I love the way this…
  • Dec. 3rd Did I stay within the calorie budget I set for myself today? Yes, 1870 < 2000 Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes, 20-min walk Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes
  • I am totally going to have a victory beer when this months is over. I loved that, impartial. Thank you for writing it.
  • I love reading this thread. Your choices are all great. This morning I chose to cook oatmeal for breakfast instead of eating nothing. I used a tiny drizzle of agave for sweetener instead of spoonfuls of sugar.
  • No, you just answer "yes" when I ask if you were underbudget for the day.
  • I love that you're choosing to do the challenge while taking care of your sick loved ones. Remember, though, if *you* get sick, put the challenge aside for a few days and rest up. There's nothing wrong with that and you won't be booted for it.
  • December 2nd Did I stay within the calorie budget I set for myself today? yes, 1970 < 2000 Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? yes, 20-minute walk Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? yep
  • December 1st Did I stay within the calorie budget I set for myself today? yes, 1925 < 2000 Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? yes, retail at Christmastime = 4+ hours of walking Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? yep
  • This challenge starts tomorrow, but I did it today. Drank water instead of soda (I think this will be a popular one, lol).
  • You don't need to open your diary, and you also don't have to post your calories online--you can track on paper. All you have to do is, at the end of your day, truthfully answer "yes" to the three questions posted above. You may eat back calories burned through exercise.
  • Oh, man. Well, making it 25 days is an accomplishment too. Let me know if you'll need extra sign-in time during your business trip. I'll make a note of it on my spreadsheet.
  • Welcome, everyone! :) Remember, you have three days to sign in, but you may not sign in at the beginning of your day. If the morning is the best time for you to sign in, then sign in in the morning to account for the *previous* day. So, sign in for December 1st on the morning of December 2nd.
  • Welcome, everyone! I hope you're all having a good holiday season and are enjoying your last day of freedom, mwhahaha.
  • Thank you. That was lovely. I'm sorry to hear about your injury. :(
  • I find rewards pretty motivating. My reward so far has been 'me' days. If I can go an entire month staying on plan, my husband agrees to the kids to the zoo so I can have the day to read and write and take a breather. I think having a daily and weekly reward plan would be even more motivating. Maybe $1 a day into a savings…
  • Hi, everyone! Welcome! Theloftlady (love that name), yes, you can eat back calories you've earned through exercise, if you wish.
  • No, you get kicked out for not logging in for four days, unless you let me know beforehand that you need extra login time.
  • Yes. You could answer for November 29th at the very end of the 29th (before you go to bed), on the 30th, on the 31st, or on December 1st. You have three days, because I know not everyone goes online every day. But you have to account for every single day--not just one day out of every three. Let's say you sign-in for the…
  • Haha. I can see that happening. That was a very distracting movie.
  • Welcome, everyone! Teacup, wow, congrats on the 100-pound weight loss! :)
  • "Winning" means you answered "yes" to all of my questions every day in December: you stayed within your calorie budget for the day, you exercised for 20+ minutes, and kept track of everything you ate and drank. You stayed in the group all month. "...unsure as to what the end goal of the challenge is." Thank you for asking…
  • Hi, Jenna! It sounds like you've done great so far. Glad to have you on board! :) Hi, Simone. Good to see you back. :)
  • Newly added FAQs this month: 16. Do I have to friend you, caradae? No. 17. If I friend you, will you follow my feed and post encouraging messages to me? I would love to, but probably not. Updating the group takes a lot of my time, and I don't have much of it to begin with. 18. I friended you and I noticed you don't track…

  • 6th, 7th, 8th yes yes yes
  • I'm so glad to hear that, minlyn. It sounds like you're really making this challenge work to your advantage. I hope I see you in our Winners' Circle next month!
  • 4th, 5th yes yes yes
  • No, sorry. :-( But there's another challenge called the "20-A-Day Challenge" that I really like. It's very similar to the UAC. You can join it any time (as I understand it) and you don't get booted for not being 100%. I think that's a great challenge to do if you get booted from this one.
  • Anyone who's still paying attention to this thread-- You all did great. We've never had more winners than this month. I'm so proud of you all! 29th, 30th, 31st--yes, yes, yes
  • 1st, 2nd, 3rd yes yes yes
  • Haha, that's a hard one. I'd say no--it needs to be something that increases your heart rate a little. Can you walk around during your lunch break?
