Oh boy, She doesn't know just how embarrassing some dinner partners can be  You just keep doing that. It is in no way rude. Now if you asked your mother for a nutritional menu at her house, she might have reason to complain.

Thanks for the support and I love all your big clothes purge stories. TOSS EM. We are not going back!

Well I am giving a few things to my mother. But there is something about seeing those clothes on an 88 year old, hunched up, walker pushing, hobbling old woman (accurate)that just motivates me all the more :ohwell:

What I really want to know is how people post these cool clips and where they come from! Plus how do you get them to loop like that. It's a smart phone app, isn't it ? Dammmn. I gotta lose the flip phone.

I think some people do deliberately try to sabotage efforts to be healthy. That is a big fat signal that they need to be out of your life, ignored or otherwise disarmed. Sometimes all it takes is a good honest talk. But honestly I agree...no one can do this but you. My DH is a hard one to be around because he is skinny and…

My husband is 70 years old, 6 ' and 140. Always has been. To be fair, he does work out, but not killer workouts. He also does the shopping and cooking. SO we had the opposite problem. I figured out what I could eat of the meals he made and added veggies or a salad. I also log in front of him telling him why I am not eating…

Thanks for celebrating with me. It really brought it home to me how much my body changed with weight loss plus strength training.

5' 6" 184 lbs Pants 14 in my usual brands Tops a loose large When I was 205 plus(don't know how plus) I wore tight 20s pants and 1x tops. Lots of elastic! Now I wear a belt.

Honey, I just got my thighs DOWN to 26 :-D this is after 25 pounds and two years with a personal trainer. Hips 44. I lost five inches in waist and hips 3 inches in thighs. I am happy to be a pear. I was an avacado for quite a while Lol

This except don't let the twits drive you out of YOUR gym. You are amazing and beautiful and getting more so each day. They are...meh..less than nothing.

"And off topic - I find it funny how people have to create new accounts in order to say things that they don't dare say on their real account. Carry on...." [/quote] Oh! Is this why I see "account deactivated" when I try to to check the profile of some odd response? I am sooooo clueless :)

I just saw that she plateaued for a week. That happens give it more time before cutting back. I have gone 3 weeks and then lost.

I want to chime in that I think it's fine for you to log her food as long as she's ok with it. My DH is terrible with tech and why add to the stress of overhauling your lifestyle by doing something you suck at! After all celebrities have coaches and cooks, etc. Why shouldn't your wife be a celebrity at home! That said, she…

I really don't think anyone can answer that but you and your doctor. My husband is 5'11" and 138. I am 5'6" and when I was 135 I was just right, maybe a tad thin. Bone structure, muscle, etc all are different. I suspect if your family is concerned, it may be because your relationship to food differs from their own. That…

You have some excellent advice here. Do start out your day with some protein so you are full. Plan ahead. Don't make everything off limits but do learn portion control. I found having more protein keeps me full longer and I have cut way back on sugar. It makes you hungry! I never say I can't have something, just that I…

Count me in the group who uses the number just to remark when my eating and exercise will result in loss. I don't even Mark it down. On days when it predicts little or no loss in 5 weeks, it encourages me to get back with the program. I DO make my own predictions and write them on the calendar. I have been pretty close so…

Not close friends, more like people I see at meetings and relatives. My good friends say the good stuff.

Oh yes! I could not do w/o them. My first goals, before MFP were to get the courage to step on a scale, then to get to onderland. I never heard of that before, but I love it. Now I want to get to 180 and then to be overweight instead of obese. Not sure what my final goal is. I am glad to see others with minigoals.…

I lost inches and toned for many months before shedding any pounds. At first I was upset, but then I just rejoiced in my increased health and improved appearance. Doing what you are doing as a double amputee makes the rest of us whiners look like ....well whiners. Keep it up!

HA! Glad a man said this. I had a bf just like this girl's. My brother told me to tell the criticizing bf that ,tho I loved him, I wished his penis was as big as my old bf. I really wish I had followed my brother's advice but I was young and lacked guts.

This is a classic technique for an insecure jerk to make a vulnerable person think they are lucky to have the jerk. It was always my cue to dump someone. Ironically, I heard this stuff mostly when I was young, slim and hot looking. Now that I'm older and fatter all I hear is sweet stuff from my sweetie who is happy I am…

And thanks for the cheesecake recipe...next party. They are coming fast and furious as summer peaks.

Thanks. I just needed a little support and help planning. I will indeed have something with protein. That does help. Normally I would bring something, but she is one of those people who is offended if you do. I guess she'll have to be offended by my not eating her high calorie food! nuts are fine, that is true. I am not…

I guess you have it! I am working on it.

This....just did it, unfortunately. Wah!

Just one time, "yes, which unattractive trait of yours would you like me to point out?"
