I hit 10k steps yesterday without doing any specific workouts. I managed to work that activity into my normal day! A large part of that is the desk treadmill I got myself for the holidays; I decided it was a worthwhile investment for my health, and it's already paying off. I was tired of sitting so much while working from…

so happy to see so many of you taking steps big and small towards your goals! After the marathon day of watching the news yesterday here in the US, I ended up not doing any walking last night, but I hit 10k steps because I worked in some standing/walking at my desk during the workday, so I felt okay about that decision. My…

Thank you! It's been a rough couple of years - my wife and I started trying in 2018, got pregnant in 2019 but we lost our son halfway through the pregnancy. I lost my wife to cancer in Nov 2019 (was a really bad year), so now I'm going the solo parent route, as I'm not getting any younger (I'm 37). I was trying most of…

Hi all! I'm Trent, a queer trans man from Colorado. Happy to anyone who wants to add me as a friend. I've logged daily since late Nov, and intend to be using MFP daily for the foreseeable future.

Hi all! I forgot I'd joined this group forever ago, and saw that folks were posting in here. My current goal is to get down to 190-200 lbs by 3/31. I currently weight just under 230 - I've lost 20 lbs since late November. Although I've been wanting to lose some weight to feel better in my body, my main driver for…

Woohoo! Mission accomplished - took a few days longer than I'd hoped, but I weighed in at 229.8 this morning. Next mini-goal up: 225 & out of "morbidly obese" BMI.

Just have to pop in and say yaaaay! The scale said 229.8 this morning - my 1st time in the 220s in almost a year and a half (and my venture into it then was short-lived). I'll provide a proper update later in the day.

I was so wanting to just go to bed early yesterday, but instead I walked 3 miles on the treadmill. I'm getting ready to go do some treadmill time now, too. My steps are poor so far today (barely over 2k) - hoping to get up to at least my 8k minimum for my stepbet before I go to bed. I'm proud of myself for stopping my…

I'm feeling a bit better today - yesterday I ended up on target, ate lots of veggies and some extra water. Today I had a hurried breakfast of toast & eggs, but made a great lunch of reheated leek & potato soup along with a large salad of mixed greens, tomatoes, sautéed zucchini, and light dressing. I think I may do…

Just popped back in to say I went on a lovely 4 mile (6.4 km) walk today, it took just over an hour and 20 minutes. Nothing very speedy, but it felt good. I've walked outside 3 days in a row now - I suspect I won't continue the chain consistently once the work week starts given the late sunrise/early sunset we're still…

Oof. Yesterday ended up being a baaaaaad food day. I realized late in the day that my eating was emotional. Today's a bit of a hard anniversary for me - the 1st anniversary of the original due date of our son who was born too early to survive, and it's amazing the trauma and emotions that our bodies trap & express…

Hi all! checking in. Welcome to the new folks! I swear my weight is teasing me - I was down to 230.1 yesterday (I'm so excited to get into the 220s) and had a great day, but this morning I'm up to 230.4. I know it's just normal variation, but I'm so ready to be out of the 230s! Yesterday I went for a lovely walk to &…

Hope everyone's having (had) a safe new year's eve! I was happy to see <231 on the scale this morning. I didn't quite make my 230 stretch goal, but I came pretty darn close! I've lost a total of 19.5 lbs in the last 40 days. I was off work today (and am tomorrow as well) - I ended up taking an easier day today, I walked 2…

@Gold6767 - I'm definitely someone who tends to stress-eat, so I sympathize with your trying hard not to buy something sugary. Seitan is a meat substitute made from wheat gluten. It's high in protein, low in carbs. Traditionally the seitan dough is cooked in broth/water, but I use a baked recipe that results in a texture…

Hi all - just checking in a little earlier today rather than at the end of my day. I was very happy to see my weight drop back down to what it was on Christmas (my current lowest). Here's to continuing in the right direction! I'm eating lunch at the moment - leftovers plus some freshly steamed broccoli. I'm really enjoying…

Hi everyone! I woke up sore today - my hip and lower back were hurting. I took some Aleve and that seemed to really help - I was able to rally and get 11k steps via 60 min walking on the treadmill (3 miles) plus some quick snow shoveling outside. Now I'm going to go take a relaxing epsom salt bath before heading to bed.…

Hi all! just checking in for the day. I'm so proud of myself - I got up at 6am to walk a mile and do some stretching. I did 10 minutes of walking at lunch, and then did another 30 minutes after work - got in 3 miles altogether. I also shoveled the snow, though I realized I should've just waited because it started snowing…

I'm so ready to be out of the 230s! I've been hovering between 233 and 235 for a week now, and I know with a few days of healthy eating and activity I'll be in the 220s. When I hit 225, my BMI will be under 40!

Another NSV I just thought of: I regularly eat vegetables with breakfast now! Today's breakfast was 2 poached eggs with a large zucchini, pan fried in a small amount of butter, and some wilted spinach. 250 calories, and very delicious!

I just jogged two miles in 31 minutes, with only a short (~1 minute) break in between the miles. It felt so good! About 10 years ago I had gotten into jogging and worked up to running a half marathon in 2.5 hours in 2011. I'm a far way from there, but making a good start!
