Slept a bit late, so it was already in the 80’s when starting out. Husband and I took Lilly ( our dog) iit was a bit warm for her, but she got to jump in the lake at the 1.5 mark. By 3 miles we were ready to walk, that’s ok as was planning on 3 with 4 if we were feeling good. Hoping to get started earlier tomorrow, but we…

A couple strolls with the dog yesterday and errands in preparation for the weekend of camping. It looks like the knee is tendonitis, so I was given some exercises to try and strengthen the other muscles and stop the cycle. This morning a nice slow run down by the lake. There’s a lot of hills that made it tough, but it felt…

Compared to this time last year, how have you improved your fitness? In general, I’m a lot more active. Last year at this time I was getting ready for a 10k, but I wasn’t consistent with the training. I was also about 30 lbs heavier. I’d have a solid week followed by a long stretch of inactivity. It was in November when…

Head wasn’t quite into it as was a bit hot and muggy and my knee hurt. I made it to two miles and decided to walk it in. Normally, I can talk myself into going further but excited to run by the lake that tonight’s run/walk was good. 5/23 - 5 miles 5/24 - 2 miles/2 walk Total 40.5 miles run/70.5 goal

My brother’s wedding was last weekend so with the travel and catching up some stuff at home, I’m behind with running. While I likely will not hit my goal, had an enjoyable run tonight on the trail during soccer practice. We’ll be at our camper this weekend so looking forward to getting in some miles by the lake. 5/23 - 5…

Soccer practice this evening so ran the trails during practice. The way out went fast, but as soon as I made the turn back I could feel it. There must have been a breeze on my back on the way out as soon I was hot and the pace started to suffer. I slowed down to reduce the effort level. When I got to 4.5 I started to walk,…

Almost didn’t run tonight as it started to get dark and was light drizzling before I got ready. The plan tonight was to run during waited my daughter’s swim practice, so could have gotten it done earlier. Just when I was mentally crossing it off I saw a fellow runner out for her run while on my way to practice. It turned…

Soccer tournament this weekend and family in town gave me some excuses for not getting out until today. Ultimately, just missed some dedicated walking miles as I’ll make up the shakeout run tomorrow night. Beautiful weekend for the soccer games and was great weather for the run this afternoon. 5/1 - 0 5/2 - 0 5/3 - 6 miles…

Walked during yesterday’s soccer practice and ran during tonight’s practice. Was about 20 degrees cooler tonight so at first the legs were a bit stiff in the knees, but once I got down the hill and to the trail things started to loosen. Didn’t seem to have any knee trouble tonight outside of that so going to keep up with…

I’m trying out the advice of walking at least two miles on a rest day, so I’m going to add the walks in as a tracker to see how I do on that the rest of the month. Daughter had a soccer game tonight, so I squeezed in the run before we had to leave to bring her to that. It was about 81 degrees out when I started and I went…

Congrats to everyone that had races this weekend! Successful weekend here too with getting out there. Ran two miles with my 11 year old daughter on Sat. There’s a really large hill by where we have our camper so we ran a two mile loop there. She made it a mile before needing to walk. It was pretty hot and we don’t have…

Nice run on the trail tonight when my daughter was at soccer practice. It would have been chilly if I was watching practice, but was a good temp for the run. Knee is still a bit sore even with two days off, but iced it tonight so hopefully it will go away. Goal for May 70.5 miles 5/1 - rest 5/2 - rest 5/3 - 6 miles

I didn’t make my goal, but had a really nice run tonight. The trail by my daughter’s soccer practice fields were clear of snow and dry. It was so nice to be out on the trails. Passed by a pond and never heard so many bull frogs, it was pretty cool. Previous total 20.5 4/17- 3 miles 4/18- 5 miles 4/19- 5 miles 4/20- rest…

My knee was giving me trouble tonight, so kept the pace nice and slow and went for 3.5 miles. I figured out that I went from pretty much months of mainly treadmill runs to transitioning to mainly outdoors these last couple weeks. I think adding the extra day (and in some cases two) of running paired with outdoor is…

Tired after work and didn’t really feel it, but yesterday was a rest day. I figured I would get in at least three and see how things went from there. Made it 3.5 miles which I was happy with. The legs felt heavy so will see how things feel tomorrow. Previous total 20.5 4/17- 3 miles 4/18- 5 miles 4/19- 5 miles 4/20- rest…

Made up some of the mileage missed last week with a quick 3 miles yesterday. We had an out of town wedding to get ready for, so couldn’t get in much. It was nice to get it in as the food at the wedding was really good and lots of car time. Today, it was beautiful out. Close to 60 degrees, so was able to wear shorts and…

Packed a bag to go to the gym after work, but it was sunny and made it to 50 degrees with little wind so decided to drive home instead and do the run outside. It was so nice to be outside again after last weekend’s crazy snowstorm. Had a side stitch about a mile in that stayed with me on and off the entire run. Powered…

Semi-easy 5 mile run on the treadmill after work. We didn’t get any snow today, so things are looking good. Previous total 23.5 4/18- 5 miles Total: 28.5/74.5 goal

We had a record breaker of a storm this past weekend, so glad I got my long run in earlier in the week. The official total isn’t in for the town I live in, but it will be between 24 inches and 33 inches. I think it’s closer to the 30 inch figure based on the snow banks and what others have reported. I missed getting in my…

We’re supposed to be getting a winter storm this weekend, so decided that if the weather was decent after work I would do my long run of 8 miles vs. 5 miles. Weather was in the low 40’s with wind being light, so decided to go for it. I missed my last two long runs, so really needed to get this in as there were only three…

@eponine1984 - I’ve been following along on the thread and wanted to say that I understand what you are going through. I had a partial molar pregnancy that developed into GSN. I had to go through all the tests and scans you mentioned and was also put on chemo. Guessing you are starting with MTX shots. Side effects were…

Happy to report that I finished level 2 tonight. I've had a lot of trouble with knees and Achilles' tendons, but finally figured out that if I use the elliptical it helps stretch things out a bit better.
-
Thanks for the tip, will need to do that. Especially if I do a squat challenge after this.
-
Finally finished level one today. I am excited to move on. I realized that I've been doing the squat and press completely wrong. My knees were really hurting and it was due to bad form. I feel pretty stupid that I didn't realize that the body weight should be on the heels vs. the toes, but after fixing that for days 7-10 I…

Thank you Chandra, I'll try and remember to keep my belly tight as I get to the other levels. I am horrible at push ups so looking forward to moving on soon, but we'll see how I do at planks :)

Day 6 in the books, feeling pretty good. I can tell I am getting more endurance as I made it almost the whole way (until side lunges) with the 5 lb before switching to lighter weights. I do feel this a lot in my knees though, but I haven't done lunges like this in a long time.
-
Level 1 day 3 complete. I can do some of the workout with 5 lb and some with 2 lb, but by the time I get to the last set of side lunges I'm lucky if I can do it with weights at all. My fitness and strength level is pretty much non existent as starting this after a very long hiatus, but each day seem to be able to keep the…

Hi Nancy, I started up 30 DS today and found this group after. Feeling really sore, but I also went downhill skiing yesterday so likely a combo effect. Are you planning on going straight through for 30 days or will you have rest days?
